But of course, leaving Antarctica isn’t exactly simple. Between us and civilization lies the Drake Passage. A stretch of Southern Ocean with one of the most notorious reputations on Earth. _______ WE’RE JASON AND NIKKI WYNN. A couple of explorers, modern-day documentarians, and cultivators of curiosity. We’ve been chasing our curiosity around the world on wheels and keels since 2011. Why? Because curiosity is the key to unlocking life. It pushes us outside our comfort zone, softens our assumptions, and helps us embrace the great unknown. The more we let our curiosity lead the way, the more we discover about ourselves and the world around us. Things We're Most Curious About... GETTING OFF-GRID Our home is also our transportation and we spend weeks away from civilization and sometimes land. So self-reliance and sustainable living are a must. We've learned heaps about renewable energy, managing waste, creating safe drinking water and foraging for food. We carefully manage our resources and we’re always looking for new and better ways to do so. TALKING TO STRANGERS People are busy (even on remote islands) and travelers are a dime a dozen. It takes time to talk to strangers, and even more time to have a real connection. Going the extra mile to get to know someone is a commitment. Which is why these are our most treasured experiences. Setting off into the world with curiosity as our guide and nature as our compass. We talk to strangers and accept hospitality without fear or reservations. Both giving and receiving. ALTERNATIVE LIVING These are people who are doing things differently. Forgoing the mainstream, seeking freedom and living on the margins. Creative, unique and inspiring people who challenge our ideas of home and community. Our journey is ever-evolving but the mission remains the same: #CultivateCuriosity Timestamps if you like to Jump Around: 00:00 Why Sail Across the Drake Passage? 01:20 Last Day in Antarctica 04:50 Prepare a Sailboat for the Drake Passage 10:33 Drake Passage Sail Day 1 14:23 Drake Passage Sail Day 2 19:11 Drake Passage Sail Day 3 24:16 Drake Passage Sail Day 4 29:15 Drake Passage Sail Day 5 32:53 Ushuaia Marina, Immigration & Hiking 36:53 Why We Travel ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- #antarctica #Sailing #drakepassage #BoatLife #Travel #adventure#Curiosity © Gone With the Wynns 2026

Hello, everyone! In this part two of our trip to Tonga from Tahiti, you'll see a lot of sailing action, including big wind and big waves. This trip was a bit of a milestone for us, as we knew it was going to be boisterous, but we feel like we really understand the boat and our sailing ability has improved. We are less and less concerned about the weather we will face because we can handle almost anything. Of course Mike is along for this leg as usual, and we have a great time together. This one's a bit long, but there's a two-minute out take at the end. Don't miss it:) Www.svhappytogether.com Music: Sailing by Leisure Cruise Hold the line by Toto. Groove is in the Heart by Dee-Lite
This week aboard SV Wildly Intrepid we explore what might be the most beautiful island we’ve visited all season… 🌴🇻🇮 Sailing the US Virgin Islands with our buddy boat, we explore St John Island and hike the incredible trail from Francis Bay while discovering the crystal clear waters of Francis Bay and Maho Beach. Then we sail over to Waterlemon Bay for snorkeling around Waterlemon Cay — but the water was WAY colder than expected! To warm up we head ashore to explore the historic Annaberg Plantation ruins and learn about the island’s powerful and heartbreaking past. We finish the adventure with a hike up to the Windy Hill Great House ruins where the panoramic views over the US and British Virgin Islands absolutely blew us away. St John has officially become one of our favorite islands in the Caribbean. ⛵ Thanks for following our family sailing adventure! 👍 Like the video, leave a comment and subscribe to join our Intrepid Tribe! 📍Locations featured: Francis Bay Maho Beach Waterlemon Bay Waterlemon Cay Annaberg Plantation Windy Hill Great House Ruins #sailing #usvi #stjohn #caribbeansailing #sailboatlife #familytravel #StJohn #USVI #VirginIslands #Sailing #SailingLife #FamilySailing #Liveaboard #CruisingLife #SailboatLife #Caribbean #CaribbeanLife #TravelVlog #IslandLife #Snorkeling #WaterlemonCay #MahoBay #FrancisBay #AnnabergPlantation #BoatLife #WildlyIntrepid 🤍 SUPPORT THE CHANNEL If you’d like to help keep these videos coming: 👉 Patreon (monthly support) https://www.patreon.com/WildlyIntrepid 👉 One-time contribution (PayPal) https://www.paypal.me/wildlyintrepid 👉 Grab some merch https://teespring.com/en-GB/stores/wildly-intrepid 👉 Amazon Wish List (gear we need) https://www.amazon.ca/hz/wishlist/ls/2GTH6AGVPH4LP?ref_=wl_share 🔔 JOIN THE INTREPID TRIBE Subscribe and follow along: https://www.youtube.com/c/WildlyIntrepid?sub_confirmation=1 📲 FOLLOW OUR ADVENTURES Facebook → https://www.facebook.com/wildlyintrepid/ Instagram → https://www.instagram.com/wildlyintrepid/ 🛠️ GEAR & DISCOUNTS (Affiliate Links) Using these links supports us at no extra cost to you 🙌 ⚓ Defender Marine https://defender.pxf.io/xL9D9v 🔋 SOK Batteries https://www.us.sokbattery.com/?ref=zS7whJNCsEGFPu ❄️ BougeRV (32% OFF) Code: Wildly https://bit.ly/3ZYruez 🔋 UNOWIX Batteries (10% OFF) Code: UNOWIX10 https://unowix.com/unowix-defender-x100.html#aff22 Amazon (USA): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B5Q84XQW?ref=myi_title_dp 🏴☠️ Vagabond Heart (stickers & patches) https://vagabondheart.co?sca_ref=2994343.Oj9OO9JP2Z 📚 BOOKS BY US "Hikes of Western Newfoundland" → https://amzn.to/33NphoR "Hikes of Newfoundland" → https://amzn.to/39WtjPR 🎶 Music: Epidemic Sound

Day 9-10 of our sail from the USA to Colombia… and this stretch tested us hard. We’re still battling 30 knot winds as we try to make our way past Cuba and toward the channel between Cuba and Haiti. But between the strong current pushing against us and the wind directly on the nose, every tack feels pointless. No matter what we do, we’re barely making any ground. Then things get worse. The weight of our outboard engine snaps the bolt holding part of the pushpit into the boat, leaving us trying to deal with damage offshore in rough conditions. After hours of fighting the current, we’re forced to make an unexpected decision… turn the engine on and motor our way past Cuba. But there’s another problem waiting ahead. As we approach Haiti, we know we’re about to hit a huge wind shadow — and suddenly we’re not sure if we even have enough fuel left to get through it. ⛵ Follow our sail from the USA to Colombia 🎥 Start the series here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcpg_1nM2Z5x0VEfLF0XzUTVuvqNrpM3P ❤️ Support the journey & watch early/ad-free videos: Patreon → https://www.patreon.com/Leadingtheescapade 🫶🏽 One-off support: PayPal → https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=R48D67JJBMDB4 Subscribe and follow along as we prepare Escapade for our Pacific crossing.

Day 6 at sea. Day 2 of getting ripped at sea. I’ve continued with my workout program and focusing properly on my nutrition, and honestly, I’m finding the whole thing really interesting. On my previous crossing, I tracked what I ate, but more just in quantity. This time I’m actually tracking calories and paying attention to the nutritional side of it all, making sure I’m getting enough protein and eating in a way that makes me feel good. And one thing that surprised me is how many calories I actually need out here. My first thought was that I should need way less because technically I spend more time sitting or lying down than I would on land. But then I started thinking about how your body is always working at sea. Even when I’m resting, my body is constantly stabilizing itself, adjusting to movement, stopping myself from falling over, reacting to every wave and motion. And I think that constant engagement changes way more than you realize. So weirdly enough, the amount I need to eat is actually pretty similar to land life. Sometimes maybe even more. Which I honestly found fascinating. Other than that, it’s been a pretty normal day at sea. I experimented a bit with food and ended up making some absolutely amazing desserts. Healthy, high protein, actually delicious. So overall… very productive day for both sailor me and gym bro me. 🌊💪 ⚓ Life on the Showgirl is my journey toward one of the toughest solo sailing races on the planet: the Golden Globe Race — sailed solo, non-stop, and without modern technology. Is there anything that is NOT damaged on my boat? Join me during this video in which I learn that my steering shaft is basically out of service. Shredded ball bearings, a shaft which is out of balance and a cockpit floor which is rotten. Surprise after surprise on my Jeanneau Sun Magic 44. However, a miracle that she was able to cross the Med with a blocked ball bearing. But a unique chance to bring Celina up to a standard which will last for decades.
The Riviera 5600 Sport Yacht Platinum sits in a very specific part of the market, large enough to genuinely entertain on board, capable enough for serious coastal cruising, yet still manageable for a couple intending to owner-operate without full-time crew. For many owners, that balance is exactly the appeal. In this series, we take a proper look at what makes the 5600 such a strong platform for the way many people actually use their boats: long lunches with family, weekends away, entertaining friends and clients aboard, and occasional extended cruising when time allows. The layout focuses heavily on indoor-outdoor living, with a connected cockpit and saloon arrangement, three-cabin accommodation, a tender garage, strong offshore capability and practical systems designed to simplify operation around the marina. But beyond the brochure specifications, the interesting part is understanding who this boat actually suits. This is not trying to be the biggest yacht in the marina, nor the most aggressive performance platform. What it offers instead is a very balanced mix of entertaining space, cruising comfort, owner usability and build quality in a package that still feels approachable to run as a husband-and-wife team. In the walkthrough, we break down the design, layout and ownership practicality. In the test drive, we take the boat offshore, through marina manoeuvres, docking situations, displacement speed cruising and wide-open throttle to see how the Riviera 5600 actually behaves in real conditions because that’s the part spec sheets can’t really explain. We check out of Corfu and head to Albania for our visa (as we arrived a few days earlier than predicted to Greece). This anchorage quickly turned to one of my least favourites... As soon as we could, we left the chaos and made our way South. Stop 1 - a fish farm, but a protected scenic anchorage Stop 2 - we had a Blue Cave on our doorstep Stop 3 - the Bluest water I have ever swam in, and possibly one of my favourite spots to date. Nothing flashy but a huge feeling of contentment. I only wish we could have stayed longer... Want early access to our videos? As we continue the journey north, we sail from Lady Elliot Island across to Pancake Creek, chasing shelter from some strong winds… and stumble into an absolute exCRABaganza. Armed with paddleboards and plenty of determination, we push our way through the creek systems – battling wind, working hard, and hoping it all pays off. Safe to say… it did. What followed was a crabalicious few days, with big rewards, and a proper feast aboard ARGO. We also share a few simple tips on how to get the most flavour out of your catch – including why steaming your mud crabs makes all the difference. “Moments in Time” is tied up in Charleston, South Carolina. The city looks like a place we could happily get lost in, but with only a single day to explore, we set our sights on the French Quarter. We wandered the market, found a good lunch, strolled the waterfront, and wrapped up the evening with a fine dinner—just enough to know we’d like more time here. But once again, the tide of obligation is running. We need to secure the boat, rent a car, pack up some gear, and make the long drive back to Maryland so Toni can prepare for her surgery. With luck, the procedure and recovery will go smoothly, and we’ll return to Charleston with renewed hope—ready to enjoy what Charleston has to offer before waiting on the next weather window for our next hop north. We bought a sailboat to chase empty waves around the world… and this might be exactly why. 🌴🌊⛵️ In this episode of Stella Overboard, we sail deep into remote Indonesia searching for untouched surf breaks, crystal clear water, and hidden islands far from civilization. What started as just another anchorage quickly turned into one of the craziest surf discoveries we’ve had so far. With our friends joining us aboard, we score pumping reef breaks, massive barrels, fresh spearfished dinner, tropical sunsets, and the kind of adventure that reminds us why we left normal life behind to live full-time on a sailboat. But life out here isn’t always paradise… squalls, strong winds, reef passes, crocodiles, malaria, and zero phone signal are all part of sailing through remote Indonesia. If you love sailing, surfing, travel documentaries, van life, off-grid living, freediving, fishing, adventure couples, and remote island exploration — welcome aboard Stella. 🌺 ⛵ Boat: Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 39i “Stella” 📍 Filmed in Remote Indonesia 🎥 New episodes every week 💙 A huge thank you to everyone supporting us on Patreon — you truly help make this sailboat life possible. We anchored our sail boat off Losari Beach in the centre of the action for the F8 Festival Airshow in the Indonesian City of Makassar. The Navy arrived first. Then the Air Force made a dramatic entrance overhead. Our Dreamtime appeared to be the epicentre of the fighter jets attention as they made pass after pass over our masts. Then the paratroopers dropped in for a visit complete with a huge Indonesian flag. They all landed safely ashore so the rescue boats had an easy afternoon. The jets made their farewell pass, the navy headed home and we enjoyed another stunning sunset before going ashore to join the party. From there, we join a speedboat day trip to Padar Island — one of the most photographed locations in Komodo National Park — taking in its iconic viewpoints and dramatic landscapes. Next, we snorkel around a stunning coral cay surrounded by vibrant reefs and abundant fish life, before an unforgettable encounter swimming with manta rays in the open water. In 2020, we continued our exploration further north, and by 2021 and 2022, we circumnavigated Australia, discovering breathtaking locations along the way. Having previously owned fishing and water-skiing boats, our passion for sailing deepened after crewing in South Australia, leading us to make the leap into full-time living at sea. Sicily is full of surprises, including weather changes! We sail Options from the foothills of Mount Etna to Syracuse, north to Catania and Taormina before saying goodbye to the island. Both major cities deserve their high tourist status offering diverse experiences and adventures. We recommend you sail to this place on our earth to witness the natural life threatening powers she can release on us mere mortals.
