Hello everyone. I know you can't believe it: Randy and Lennie putting out one video a week for four weeks. What's happened? Well, here's what happened. It takes so much effort to film, edit, and produce these videos. Even though I use a final edit person who helps with transitions and smoothing out the sound, it still takes 5 to 10 hours to launch an episode. We've been so busy sailing for the last almost two years that it's just taken its toll, but now that we're in the home stretch of 2026, we sure as heck want to knock out all the videos from last year, all the way through New Zealand. This video marks the end of our passage-making across the Pacific, but there will be three or four episodes of our cruising in New Zealand, which lasted all the way through March of this year. Now that I'm on a roll, I will keep going and will bring all these videos to you. We can't believe it. Our cruise of Fiji came to an end. We saw a lot, but there's so much more to see, but that goes for almost every place. Lenny and I move fast, as you know. Heck, some people sail around the world in one year. One year to cross the Pacific was just about right for us, but it did leave us thinking that we'll be back. There isn't any place that we did not love on this entire cruise. Packing up and getting ready to head to New Zealand, we knew it was the end of warm wind and warm water. We're having so much fun finishing up our videos from our crossing of the Pacific. As I type this note, I'm sitting on Happy Together in the port in Monaco, in the south of France, in the Mediterranean. What a dichotomy from our year in the Pacific. Hi everyone! Here's our next video of our time cruising Fiji in October of last year. People ask us all the time what our favorite part of crossing the Pacific was, or specifically what our favorite islands were. As much as we love French Polynesia and Tonga, we really think Fiji had a distinct remote atmosphere of people living like the old days off the grid. The islands are beautiful to look at, and the undersea coral and sea life was absolutely the best. Only a few episodes left will bring us to New Zealand and our touring there, and then the Pacific 2025 journey will come to an end. What a year! Well, after a wonderful stop in Tonga, we headed to Fiji. It might be our favorite island chain in the South Pacific. Over the next three or four videos, you will see the amazing scenery, topography, islands, cultures, and people of Fiji. It was amazing. Welcome back to the channel, and we can't wait for you to see this video. Not because of the sailing (there was plenty of that in the last video), but because we explore the underside of Tonga in a way that we just couldn't believe. The diving there was spectacular, but swimming with the humpback whales takes the cake. In the video, I think I mentioned that Tonga is the only place in the world you can do this, and it turns out there are few others, but it is extremely rare. We spent a whole day on a private dive boat learning about these creatures and how to interact with them without bothering them. It's mostly mothers and their calves, with a couple of male protectors swimming with them. We had the most amazing time. We also enjoyed Tonga's laid-back, casual vibe, and geologically speaking, it is a really rare series of canals dug into this land mass to create these little fjords, just unusual. Finally back to sailing videos! In early September of 2025, we departed Tahiti with our dependable crew Mike for our sail to Tonga, which is approximately 1,500 nautical miles. This trip is notorious because there is a squash zone in the middle where low pressures coming east from New Zealand trip up the trade winds and can bring some wild weather to this area. We danced with the low-pressure systems by going north and south a hundred miles frequently along this westbound route with our trusty weather routers' advice. Hello everybody. After a little hiatus, we are back to producing videos. Season 8 took us from Panama and finished on the island of Tahiti in French Polynesia, and Season 9 will take us from Tahiti to Tonga, then Fiji, and all the way to New Zealand. There is a lot of passage making in this upcoming season, and some more great exploring and diving in these wonderful islands that dot the South Pacific. These videos are about six months behind, but we will be catching up with this season. Today, the boat was loaded on a ship in Auckland, New Zealand, headed to Spain for our summer sailing in the Mediterranean. It was bittersweet to finish Season Nine in Auckland and leave the boat and come home. The fourteen months of cruising from Panama to New Zealand was all that we hoped for and more. It's a bit melancholy to have it be over. I know, I know, there will be more adventures ahead, but I don't know if anybody can top crossing that ocean. Hi guys, at Fakarava we really enjoyed the people, friends and water with lots of diving and beach combing. We almost crashed the boat and we are still on pins and needles about it. We got another load of supplies and finally after 8 days left for Rangiroa which will be our last atoll in the Tuamotus. If you can ever get to this place we highly recommend it. Hint: you don't have to sail here from Panama. I am back in the groove and having a blast editing these videos. Here is the final leg of our Pacific crossing and we had some sailing thrills and more amazing meals from Chef Caz.
