Long range, low running costs and incredible living spaces are just some of the reasons why I can see the Omikron OT-60 becoming the boat of choice for people who otherwise thought they needed a catamaran or a trawler. I think it's fair to argue that this design makes more sense than a catamaran or trawler from an operational and living perspective in many of the worlds busy cruising grounds. I accept if you want to cross the Atlantic then this isn't the boat, but for many of you who are sticking to the Med or Caribbean then this boat is actually better and more user friendly in so many ways. The Marex 440 Gourmet is a very interesting design. This is a boat that will likely appeal to serious experienced boaters and new boaters alike. She's packed with good ideas that will immediately make sense to anyone with experience on the water yet she's also very nice looking and extremely comfortable to spend time aboard. She's also designed to work in a global marketplace with the option of shaft drive - IPS drive and stern drive! It's not every day that you come across a vessel where you say to yourself 'geeze that's a good idea' - but on the Marex I was saying that all day. This design which is also available in a 'Scandinavia' version that cuts the galley down to a normal size and opens up internal lounge space is a boat that can work for so many people in all kinds of environments.
