Is Sailing with Family Worth It? | Sailing Life

Sailing Thailand in the monsoon after two months at anchor brings new crew, rough seas, rain squalls and seasickness and a reminder that sometimes you need to slow down. Log Entry 503 — Sometimes knowing when to pause is exactly what keeps the journey going. After almost two months anchored in the Krabi River, we finally set sail again — with a new crew, a new passage, and the Thai monsoon for company. ⛵🌊 We had checked Windy, PredictWind and the weather forecasts carefully. But despite all the planning, the sea had a few surprises waiting for us. Rain squalls hit us twice a day, the conditions turned rough, and on their very first day at sea, some of our new crew began feeling seasick. Instead of pushing on with our original plan, we decided to slow down. A short hop to Koh Jum, some time to recover, and then another short passage to a larger island. After four years of sailing, we could probably have pushed through. But experience isn't always about knowing how to keep going. Sometimes it's about knowing when not to. Because a pause isn't the end of the journey. Sometimes, it is what keeps the journey going. NEW VIDEOS EVERY WEEK! Please subscribe and share our videos.
