After months of searching for the perfect go anywhere, high latitude vessel, we ended up buying the one boat we never thought we’d own. And we bought it at auction without ever starting the engine, doing a survey, or taking it for a sea trial. In 48 hours, we went from casually bidding to draining our entire bank account for a boat we'd only seen once. No warranty. No guarantees. No turning back. This is either the smartest or stupidest decision we've ever made, and we're about to find out which. Come aboard as we reveal our new adventure home, why we fell in love with this vessel, what it is lacking and share the wild story that got us here. _______________________________ WE’RE JASON AND NIKKI WYNN. We've tested, learned, and challenged almost every idea we've had about life at sea. And somewhere between the engine rooms, stabilizers, and wind generators, we discovered what really matters for our next chapter. This isn’t just about finding a boat, it’s about choosing the right tool for the adventure ahead. One strong enough for icy fjords, self-sufficient enough for remote destinations, and (hopefully) small enough that we can still handle it just the two of us. ___________________________ WE’RE JASON AND NIKKI WYNN. Big waves, strong winds, and the answer to our biggest question: are stabilizers on a monohull really better than a catamaran? This 64-foot trawler has been smooth, quiet, and surprisingly efficient, but comfort means nothing if it can’t take a beating. So, when 30 knots of wind and steep, choppy seas rolled in, we pointed the bow straight into it. What happened next was part science experiment, part thrill ride, and a whole lot of respect. Between dodging whirlpools, hauling crab pots, and hanging out with whales, this final stretch gave us what we came looking for and more. _______________ WE’RE JASON AND NIKKI WYNN. On the surface, these boats are big, bold, and undeniably capable. The EarthRoamer of the sea. But do they also live up to the "motorboat" stereotypes of being loud, smelly, and fuel-guzzling beasts? Join us as we swap assumptions for real-world answers and discover one incredible anchorage after another along the way. We thought, how hard could it be to take ourselves on an African safari? Turns out, when the trip starts with a dead battery, black smoke, and zero professional guidance, the answer is: pretty wild. From lions and giraffes to hippos and crocs, and even one very elusive leopard, we explored what felt like every inch of Uganda’s biggest national park. It turns out the driving is half the adventure… and the boat safari to the base of Murchison Falls is the other half. 🚙🐘🦁🐆🌊 https://www.gonewiththewynns.com ☝Behind the Scenes, Gear Guides & More 📷 Photo & Video Gear 📷 https://www.gonewiththewynns.com/photo-video-gear 📱Socials INSTAGRAM: https://instagram.com/the_wynns/ FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/GoneWithTheWynns 📧EMAIL notifications, so you never miss a video🍦 http://bit.ly/gwtw-social 🎶 MUSIC for vids. 2 Months Free: https://bit.ly/artlist-GWTW 🎨 Creative Assets for Vids (SFX, Templates & Presets): - https://bit.ly/motion-array-GWTW 🎽GET YOUR SWAG ON: https://gonewiththewynns.teemill.com/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WE’RE JASON AND NIKKI WYNN. Welcome to Giethoorn, Netherlands - a place so unique it feels like stepping into a fairy tale. This isn't some tourist attraction built for show... it's a real village where 2,800 people actually live, connected by 180 bridges and a network of canals that were accidentally created centuries ago. Behind the scenes, we've been planning and preparing for an epic trip to Uganda with some longtime friends from Texas. When we realized we'd have a layover in Amsterdam, we thought - why not finally check out this little fairytale village we'd heard so much about? We spent two incredible days exploring this car-free paradise. And I don't know if it was the water or the perfectly manicured landscapes, but I have never had a more beautiful or relaxing layover.
