In this video I'm still trying to achieve my dream of sailing to the USA, Canada and Mexico for the 2026 world cup. I try to seal the deal on buying a hurricane damaged Beneteau 50 Sailboat in the Caribbean. I explain why the last 4 videos have been made private, as I have been in communication with lawyers from the Boatyard where Bennie the Beneteau is being held. This will also be further explained and delved into in future episodes. I have also been in contact with staff from the Salvager's parent company, with whom there seems to be no wrongdoing. I explain the facts with what is going on in the yard, and after learning that the rogue salvager operating in the yard is now lifting boats with the yard's own in-house Travelift, and under threat of looting, I take the appropriate action. I reveal one of the main reasons I'm buying a yacht and sailing away, and announce some travel plans. In the upcoming episodes I travel overseas and run into Sascha and Raf from Spear it Animal, who help me with a crucial item. No names of Marinas, Boatyards, Businesses, Vessels or specific place names have been used in the creation of this video. I found a little Paradise. As I attempt to get into sailing and after a close call at Port Dickson in Malaysia I decide to look for a Sailboat at Marina Island at Pangkor, and just by accident, I found something else. A little paradise. Somewhere I'd love to come back to once I have a yacht and can begin my sailing dream. Yep, it was pretty disappointing at the time. So I thought I’d cheer myself up and have a look around Malaysia. Towering above the skyline, I saw this place, it looked straight out of a Batman film… The marina manager from Port Dickson had told me about another marina in Pangkor in the north of Malaysia where I should look. There were a lot of abandoned boats there. So I didn’t hang around Kuala Lumpur for too long… The one thing I noticed about Malaysia were the miles and miles of Palm Plantations. Marina island at Pangkor was an interesting place. It’s way cheaper to haul out here and labour is cheap too, but the heat for this Melbourne boy was almost unbearable.There’s a sailing Youtube channel couple doing a refit of an Amel Super Maramu 54 in this yard, and they have two young babies… massive respect to them for getting it done, I’m not sure I would have been able to stand it. I got an apartment overlooking the marina and got out and had a good look around. I spoke to the marina office, but none of the yachts there were what I was looking for. But later that afternoon a taxi driver told me I should catch the ferry over to Pangkor Island for a look around… and boy was I glad I did. I only went there for the day… but I think I’ll be back, …Hopefully when I’m sailing through. Once I had as good look around I was off back to KL to catch my flight to Thailand, where lovely Georgia was holidaying and waiting for a travel buddy…

I fly to Malaysia to buy a 40ft Bavaria Yacht belonging to a deceased owner. And things get really strange.

Part 2 of 3 Should I Buy an Abandoned Yacht in Malaysia As other buyers begin to circle I try to see if the Abandoned Yacht is worth pursuing and try against the odds to track down Valkyries Journey from the USA to Malaysia via the pacific and search for lost paperwork overseas with the help of a friend I haven't seen in decades. In the process I learn a little about Valkyries former owner, the late Henrik, a Swedish Sailor who may have been a Swedish Ninja. Then I ask about importation and registration I get very little help from Borderforce and AMSA. I stumble across an abandoned yacht in Malaysia, it's sooo cheap but should I buy it?

The final leg of my first ever sail has me questioning everything and preparing for the yacht to sink. Captain Dan teaches me the ropes and probably has a giggle as I completely crap it when two storms come at us from two different directions and meet right above us for one wet and wild ride into Byron Bay and on to the Gold Coast. Will this make me a sailor or will this be my first and last sail?

After a massive rain event in the Hunter Valley, the weather has improved, so I travel back from Melbourne via train to Sydney, check out Sydney Harbour and all the boats I love but can't afford in Pittwater. We start out at Ulladulla and head up the Shoalhaven coast Past Wreck Bay and come across Australia's Cursed Lighthouse of Death, the Cape St George Lighthouse. After anchoring for the night in Callala Bay in Jervis Bay, we leave early and marvel at the spectacular sea-cliffs and caves on the North East side of Jervis Bay. We head past Wollongong under a spectacular sunset and cruise straight past Sydney where we discover the Boat-Porn of Pittwater. We moor the boat in Pittwater as there's bad weather on the way and the next day we head to Sydney, where Capt Dan heads home to Qld until the weather gets better, and I check out Sydney Harbour and the National Maritime Museum at Darling Harbour.
