Jason's 233 Formula and she's an absolute weapon. Finished in storm grey, this classic 233 Formula is one of the cleanest builds we've seen come through. Fitted with a bimini and clears, it's a setup that looks the part and works hard. Plenty of airflow for those warm Western Australia days, while keeping everything protected when you need it. Built to perform and ready for anything offshore, this one is heading north to Karratha where it'll be right at home. Simple. Sharp. Sorted. For the sixth time, Bow Caddy has been commissioned to document this wonderful Charity event for the Renewable Energy Committee and their sponsors. It was a day with the four seasons, wind, no wind, sun & torrential rain, followed by more sun to wrap up the event on the beach. A great day for everyone.

Explore Croatia’s islands on two wheels, tackling varied and interesting terrain as you go! Our Cycle Cruises are led by a professional cycling guide and include a hearty breakfast and lunch (or dinner) onboard, large sundecks to relax and unwind in the evenings, and a challenging, yet rewarding cycling itinerary. With four itineraries to choose from, guests can enjoy the best of Croatia and cruising! A sample itinerary of destinations visited on the Split Return South route can be found below: Day 1 Split: Check-in is from 10.30am to 12.00pm. Day 1 Milna: We depart from Split harbour at 13:00, with lunch onboard as you get to know your fellow shipmates. We sail from the mainland and head toward the island of Brac, arriving mid-afternoon. Our first ride begins as we cycle to Bobovišça, a small hamlet set on the western side of Brac just under the mountain top, overlooking the sea. You will be able to dive into the turquoise water here or enjoy a coffee. Day 2 Bol: This first stage begins with a climb to the crest of a hill, past stunning local flora. The white stone visible here was used to build the White House in Washington and the Reichstag in Berlin. At the 35km mark, you have the opportunity to try traditional food and wine in a local village (please note lunch is optional). The panoramic views of the neighboring island of Hvar are well worth the ascent! In Bol itself, you can visit the Golden Horn beach (about 2.5km from the port), take a swim, or stroll through the local streets. Day 3 Hvar: The island of Hvar is famous for its multi-coloured fields of rosemary and lavender. On the first cycling stage, you'll make your way through the many villages on the island via paved and gravel roads. From Jelsa, we cycle towards Vrboska and then down to Stari Grad, one of Croatia's oldest towns (dating back to 385BC), where we will stop for a break. We continue on towards Hvar Town, passing through the villages of Grablje (known for its wine and olive oil) and Brusje. The day ends at the historical town of Hvar for an opportunity to visit the cathedral and Gothic palaces. Day 4 Korcula: Today we will ride from Racisce - Lumbarda. The peaceful and secluded gardens of cypress trees here make Korcula one of the most beautiful of the Adriatic islands. Korcula claims to be the birthplace of Marco Polo and the name can be seen all over the island. Our final destination is the medieval town of Korcula with its attractive narrow streets. Day 5 Mljet: Breakfast is served onboard, en route to the island of Mjlet, also known as Honey-Island. Mljet two lakes (Great Lake and Small Lake). In the twelfth century, Benedictine built a monastery here in a secluded spot, surrounded by pine and oak forests. Today this area is a National Park and the high point of any tour of Dalmatia. You can cycle around the National Park's salt-water lake, in which there is actually another island. After lunch, you are free to explore more of the island by bike or perhaps swim or kayak in the Small Lake. Day 6 Makarska: This morning we sail toward the Peljesac peninsula where we’ll start our ride from either Kuciste or Viganj. We cycle through this famous wine-growing region toward Orebic where we will have a short break and take in the beautiful countryside. On the ride back the climb is not easy, but rewards you with magnificent views of the neighbouring island of Korcula. We’ll meet the boat in Loviste where a delicious lunch will be served onboard. This afternoon take in the Adriatic Sea as your ship cruises into Makarska for the evening, a popular town at the base of the impressive Biokovo mountain range. Day 7 Split: After breakfast onboard, we will take our last bike ride of the week. The route takes us to Radmanove Mlinice, where the ""Winnetou"" movies were filmed, along the valley of the Cetina river, right underneath the mountains. In Omis, you can visit the Mirabella Fortress, which offers views over the channel towards Brac island. After lunch onboard, the ship will sail back to the city of Split, where you can take a tour of the fascinating Roman Diocletian's Palace. After a relaxed city walk in this unique historic town, you return to your ship in the nearby harbour. Day 8 Split: This morning it's time for an early onboard breakfast, before saying goodbye to the crew and all of your new friends.

Last week my brother joined me onboard and we had a pretty rough sail... this week it changes! We have the most perfect conditions while moored in a location unlike any others in the Tuamotus! We dive, make fires, open coconuts, and finish with a slow, easy sail to pick up my parents! Sailing vessel Tapatya This is the story of SV Tapatya, a self-built, Jay Benford designed, 31.8ft, junk schooner-rigged cruising sailboat. The videos are a week-by-week record of our adventures as I live aboard, sail and strive to find out just what such a self-built, low-budget vessel is capable of. These videos take a lot of time and effort to make, in what is already a time-intensive project. Your support in watching, subscribing and sharing these videos is very much appreciated.
#Voilier #SanBlas #SailingLife #VoyageEnVoilier #Caraibes
We finally finished another job. Just 72 days left of our 100 day to launch challenge. We are now living aboard our Rival 38 Centre Cockpit full-time while finishing a refit so we can launch ASAP. We have a frequently updated blog at https://sustainablesailing.net with membership options and a weekly newsletter at £2 per month for Early Bird Supporters. Our free Sustainable Sailing book is at: https://sustainablesailing.codeberg.page/ Or visit our shop at https://sustainablesailing.teemill.com/ for great hoodies, t-shirts and bags. When we bought Vida in August 2019 she was in a very tired and damp condition with all original equipment and fittings (much of it not working). We have removed all the gas, diesel and paraffin equipment, and are installing all-electric (motor, cooking etc). Building internal systems from scratch?! It's not an easy feat. We're pushing to get out of the Marina and live on anchor as soon as we can manage, but we also happen to be LIVING on the site that we're working. This means we'll need power, fresh running water, a functioning toilet and waste management systems before we motor out of here. Not only do we have to consider what will be the fastest way, but also how these systems will work for our permanent set up so that we're not backtracking and re-running cables and lines. It's a lot to consider, but we don't have the time to sit around and consider it. It's time to get to work! ____________________________________________________________________________ For ad-free and early release episodes, behind the scenes content and live updates, check out our Patreon! I’m sailing from Almere toward Lemmer in The Netherlands – the town where my love for sailing started when I was just ten years old. Now I’m back with my 27ft Grinde Loveworkx, ready for the next big chapter: my solo circumnavigation. I moor at Zeilmakerij De Vries Maritiem, the same place where I once worked at the reception desk. Today they’re making a brand new sprayhood, a rain-catching cover for the tropics, a dinghy cover, and even a cockpit hammock for better watch-keeping. Watch the whole process: measuring, bending frames, cutting fabric and the final result. It feels incredibly special to return to the place where it all began while preparing my boat for the big oceans ahead. Full circle moments like this make the journey even more meaningful. ❤️⛵ 💙 Love my videos? On commence fort cet épisode. ⚓ #Voile #Catamaran #Mayday #Cannes #Porquerolles #Navigation #CatamaranZen
At the Auckland Wooden Boat Festival we caught up with the charming Iain Valentine aboard FRANCES ; Skipper Robin Kenyon of ARIKI; and Ken Fyfe of TITUS CANBY to soak in the pleasure that is seeing three extraordinary, living pieces of yachting history. Below you’ll find a little more information about each vessel and a link to the video.
Here's a quick video on how to remove the gear housing on a Yanmar 4JHBE so we can access the timing gear set underneath! This is a relatively easy job and a common one performed on many marine diesel engines. This engine uas a fairly common setup similar to what you'd find on most marine diesel engines!
After a few months tucked away in the Rio Dulce, we were excited to finally get back out on the ocean. The passage started of easy, the kind where everything just settles in and feels right again. But it didn't stay that way...This ended up being our scariest crossing yet.

Boat building, regardless of whether the main material used is wood, fibreglass, carbon fibre, or a combination of them all, relies on epoxy for laminating, bonding and infusion. PRO-SET® Epoxies have been developed since the mid-1980s, and offer enhanced handling characteristics, excellent cure profiles, and uniform mix ratios, making them the perfect choice from boat builders such as Ovington Boats. At the RYA Dinghy & Watersports Show 2026 I spoke to David Johnson and Hamish Cook of Wessex Resins & Adhesives, as well as Nathan Batchelor from Ovington Boats, to find out more about how the companies work together. #boatbuilding #dinghy #epoxy #epoxyresin
