Zwischen April und Oktober genießen wir also das Segeln auf der Knysna [ˈnaɪzna] (so haben wir unseren Kielzugvogel getauft, nach einer Stadt in Südafrika benannt). . Im Herbst 2023 haben wir uns einen weitern Traum erfüllt und uns eine Maxi 84 gekauft. Diese wurde von uns Ende Oktober 2023 nach Kiel überführt. Seit dem widmen wir uns im Winterlager auch diesem schwedischen Segelklassiker, im Sommer erkunden wir die Dänische Südsee. Dabei haben wir uns immer nach dem Motto gerichtet: Learning by Doing Auf diesem Kanal möchten wir Euch zeigen, wie wir stetig dazulernen, Fortschritte machen aber auch manchmal an unsere Grenzen stoßen. After five days at sea, the fleet has been put through a serious test. For Malizia 4, there has been no time to rest. After the earlier issue with the port foil, the crew has faced further technical problems onboard, all while sailing through some seriously demanding conditions. Imagine your autopilot suddenly stops working in the middle of a squall, with gusts reaching 40 knots, while one crew member is steering through a rough sea, another is reefing the mainsail and the others are down below trying to get the system back up and running. That was the reality onboard Malizia 4. And Gauthier's footage from inside the action is SPECTACULAR. ⚡️ With almost 1,500 nautical miles covered, the fleet has been pushed hard by strong winds, big seas and constantly changing conditions. Now, a high-pressure bubble ahead could bring the boats back together and completely reshuffle the race. Despite numerous contradictory sightings throughout the night, come morning the ship and her crew were never seen again. The Omikron OT-60 takes a very different approach to the traditional motor yacht, combining the space and convenience of a powerboat with the quiet, easygoing character of a sailboat. Saímos do Iate Clube Aratu, na Bahia, com destino a Barra de São Miguel, em Alagoas, para mais uma longa navegada a bordo do Veleiro Cabana. Foram dois dias e duas noites no mar, mas dessa vez nosso maior problema não era chegar rápido ao destino… era justamente o contrário: precisávamos controlar a velocidade do barco! Como a entrada da Barra de São Miguel depende da maré certa, tínhamos que chegar em um horário específico. Só que, no ritmo em que estávamos navegando, chegaríamos quase 8 horas antes do horário ideal. E aí começou a luta para tentar frear o Cabana. O problema é que vinha um pirajá atrás do outro, aumentando ainda mais a velocidade do barco e tornando cada vez mais difícil controlar nossa chegada. Depois de muita estratégia para não chegar cedo demais, finalmente entramos na Barra de São Miguel. E o que veio depois compensou todo o esforço: dias incríveis na Stella Marina, reencontro com os amigos da flotilha e muitos eventos juntos. Teve até churrasco em uma praia deserta — que só acabou porque a maré simplesmente subiu e engoliu a faixa de areia! Há cinco anos eu sigo uma regra que ninguém me obrigou a criar: nunca voltar para trás, sempre para o norte. Quebrei ela por causa deste lugar. A Barra de São Miguel é uma muralha de recifes com uma única passagem, e do outro lado uma lagoa que é um paraíso pequeno: areia branca, coqueiro, um pouco de mangue e uma cidade tranquila. Entrei com o André, prático da região, e com o Zezeco, dono da marina, que veio junto e ainda gravou o Balanço de fora. Não teve drama: "Com a ajuda certa é fácil". Depois fui de bote conhecer o resto. As dunas que só existem na maré baixa. As piscinas naturais sobre o arenito, onde a rocha segura a água que o mar levou embora e prende bicho ali por algumas horas. E a Praia do Gunga, lotada todo dia, que nem fica na Barra de São Miguel — fica no município vizinho, Roteiro. Foi lá que apareceu a pergunta que não me largou. A poucos metros da praia cheia tem uma praia igual, vazia. Sem cerca, sem cobrança, sem impedimento nenhum. Ninguém proibiu ninguém de ir. Mesmo assim quase todo mundo desce no mesmo pedaço de areia. Este episódio é sobre as regras que a gente cumpre sem ser obrigado. As da lua, que ninguém contesta porque a punição é certa. E as que a gente inventa para si mesmo, cuja punição é difusa — e que talvez por isso definam mais quem a gente é. Os recifes daqui têm uns sete mil anos. Já existiam cidades em outras partes do mundo quando eles começaram a se formar. Para uma pedra, isso é praticamente ontem. Sobre a idade: as datações publicadas dessas rochas praiais são de Recife (7.310 ± 60 e 5.805 ± 40 anos AP).
