There is a Doyle Sails loft in the region, and we need to get an alteration done to the new mainsail. Docking at Marina Porto Fezzano, we get the opportunity to take an epic hike on the peninsula, which is one of the gateways to the Cinque Terra coastal trail network. In this episode Saoirse is stuck in Genova for almost a month, while we ensure the mast is structurally sound following the impact damage from the cargo ship. Boat projects include: - Replacing the icemaker and drink fridge..their location by the stern exposes them to damaging salt water - Replacing the starter batteries. After 3 years they are not cranking like they should - Continuing our Starlink installation, with the mounting of the dish on the flybridge roof - Polishing away some oily slime that coated the yacht while in transit - Ultrasonic inspection of the mast - Replacement of the Echopilot forward-facing transducer in the hull, also damage during shipping - Addressing problems with the black water tank level sensors....grinding the problem away - Receiving and installing the new (warranty replacement) jib sail - Receiving and hoisting the new (warranty replacement) mainsail. In this episode, our last of the Southeast Asia cruising years, we finish off our tour of Vietnam while the catamaran is en route to Europe. Our last area to visit, centrally located on Vietnam's coast, is the City of Da Nang, and nearby popular Hoi An. This area has big long beaches, good food, and is on the "tourist route" so it has a lot to offer for experiences, workshops, and classes. In this episode, we remain in Phuket awaiting our shipping date to the Mediterranean Sea. While here, lots of little things happen. In this shorter episode in Phuket, we're taking the sail quiver to a large sail loft for inspection and repair. We have had some issues with a few of the black laminated sails, and had already sent the jib to New Zealand from Indonesia. Now that we are out of the "yachting wilderness" and in a place with bigger yacht facilities like this sail loft, we are pursuing the opportunity to carry on with our warranty inspection, and to address some other minor nicks and rubs on the other sails. In this continuation episode work progresses in the shipyard and we splash Saoirse back in the water to head out to Thailand. The bottom paint patching is completed, though the area under the stands was a little rushed and there were some delays. Jeannine replaced the joker valves on all four of the marine toilets, to fix an issue of backflow from the drain line. We replaced the motor on one of our 3-speed Harken winches. In this episode we're back in Langkawi Malaysia and getting ready for a period in the shipyard. This episode has some touring of the island, as well as some projects. Projects include: - Troubleshooting our main electric 3-speed which, which stopped working fully; - Using Deutsch connectors for electrical for the first time; - Integrating a dimmer / variable resistor knob into the Jon Buoy deployment button; - Wiring relays to allow dimming of the centerboard position indicating buttons. Then, joined by our friends from SV Aventure, we take a day to explore the sky bridge and gondola to head up the mountain.
