We celebrate New Years Eve in Suriname! We go in early in the morning to Paramaribo and have a full day seeing how New Years is celebrated in Suriname. We also enjoy a peaceful dinghy trip into the rivers and see some cute monkeys! And also prepare to leave Suriname. 🛠 Subscribe for more updates from our journey as we sail from Sweden to Brazil and the Caribbean. --------------------------------------------- Hi, we’re Thomas and Petra! In late August 2020, we set sail from Sweden on our first big adventure – a year-long journey to the Caribbean and back. Fast forward to October 2023, we took the plunge again and bought a Wasa 530, a sailboat that had been sitting idle for over 15 years. She was in need of some serious TLC, and we started the mission of transforming her into the ultimate blue water cruiser! On our channel, you’ll follow every step of this exciting journey – from boat renovations to sailing adventures. We post new videos weekly on Saturdays, so subscribe and join us as we bring this beauty back to life! ⛵️More about our boat, Anne-Mon II: http://sailingannemon.com/about/the-boat-anne-mon-ii/ 📷 Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sailingannemon/ 🛠️Watch our refit journey playlist: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLHgGaw1dpS5_VjMQI7M9VAgMQJ5zlaB4C&si=d6AFysVKD-G6_vsh 🌎 Check out our first sailing adventure playlist: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLHgGaw1dpS5_R9PXdy23vIX9IwvPsliTP&si=aJirDjtIELIxwxhb 💻 Learn about our first boat and adventures: http://sailingannemon.com/

The Boat we have made an offer for is only 2.5 years old - and we get the call we did not expect!!! The Surveyor found 3 problems.... Leaking hull, broken B+G electronics and worst - a problem with the rigging. So join us for the agony of the event and what it really means.... - Is it the end of our offer on this boat? - DO we have to go back to square one with another boat? - Is there a solution to overcome the BIG issue??? We also go through teh steps of working our what we need to get for the boat and where we have to get it from... Not everything is available in Tahiti and some things are really expensive. What about flagging the boat? Which country to use" What flag allows easy charter approval? What name do we register her in - our personal name, our company that has the Portofino 52 or do we need to set up a completely new entity? We take you step by step through the process we are going through and explain the reasons for each decision! And the final challenge we have before we board the plane, is trying to get everything we NEED into the bags and within the baggage allowance! See how we go.... Next episode: we fly back to Tahiti to take ownership of the Nautitech 40 Lou Lou!!! This is just the beginning… South Pacific sailing is about to start —and later this year… The Portofino 52. 👇 Comment below with your advice especially if you always have some weird things you want to have with you on your travels!👇
Day 4. A very different day from yesterday. The conditions were still good, the boat was sailing beautifully under the triple headsail setup, and honestly, everything should have felt amazing. But my body had other plans. I get affected a lot by low pressure systems, and when the pressure drops, I often get migraines. So the entire day was basically spent dealing with that. I was also just tired. Even though yesterday wasn’t physically exhausting, sailing still takes energy in a different way than life on land does. I never sleep quite as deeply out here, and I think it all just caught up with me. So today became a very slow day. Most of the time I was just lying inside on the couch with a headache, waiting for it to pass. Not exactly the dreamy sailing day you imagine when you picture crossing oceans. But honestly, I’m very grateful the weather was calm. Because it gave me the space to slow down, focus on myself, and just recover a little bit. And sometimes, that’s exactly what you need. 🌊 ⚓ Life on the Showgirl is my journey toward one of the toughest solo sailing races on the planet: the Golden Globe Race — sailed solo, non-stop, and without modern technology. Day 41 of the 75 Hard Challenge and today I wanted to talk about something bigger than workouts, water intake, or calories… What this challenge actually does to you mentally and physically. 75 Hard isn’t just about losing weight or getting fitter. It’s about building discipline, resilience, consistency, and proving to yourself that you’re capable of far more than you think. The physical changes are great… more energy, improved fitness, better sleep, weight loss and strength… but the real transformation happens in your mindset. You stop making excuses. You stop negotiating with yourself. You start becoming stronger mentally every single day. And if the full 75 Hard challenge feels too intense for you, don’t worry. Here at Virolis Project we can help put together a realistic training and lifestyle plan tailored to YOU — helping you lose weight, improve fitness, and feel better without the pressure of the full challenge. 📩 Reach out if you’d like help getting started. #75Hard #MentalToughness #WeightLossJourney #FitnessMotivation #Discipline #SelfImprovement #WorkoutMotivation #Transformation #HealthyLifestyle #VirolisProject #FitnessJourney #Mindset #NoExcuses #DailyDiscipline #Motivation ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you found it informative or entertaining please give it a thumbs as it helps get YouTube to promote it outside of the existing subscribers. We also spend our days cleaning, provisioning, and taking care of all the little things that come with everyday life aboard. On top of that, we celebrate Erik’s 30th birthday with a special visit from family 🎂💛 If you’d like to become a Patreon and support our work, and get exclusive content plus early access to our videos, click here 👉https://www.patreon.com/c/sailanddoxie/membership We are so thankful for every single one of you 🫶 If you're new to our channel, welcome! 🩵 We’re Linn and Erik, a Swedish couple in our late 20s who quit our jobs, rented out our apartment, and set off to sail from Stockholm to the Mediterranean together with our sausage dog. Day 2. Today the trip took a completely different turn. When I left Horta, I was very locked into this mindset of: either I go to France, or I don’t leave at all. Those were the only two options in my head. But then, out here sailing, I suddenly realized something very obvious: there are islands everywhere around me. Just because I left doesn’t mean I can’t stop somewhere. And with the wind forecast dying completely, my options were basically to drift slowly in the middle of nowhere for two days… or go explore an island. The second I realized that was actually an option, something shifted in my brain. So I turned toward Terceira. And honestly, I’m so unbelievably happy that I did. Because today reminded me why I love sailing so much in the first place. Not the miles. Not the goals. Not the schedules. But the freedom of it. The fact that you can wake up one morning and decide to go somewhere else. That the ocean can suddenly open doors you weren’t planning to walk through. I think after the Atlantic crossing I got a bit stuck in “transport mode.” Just get from A to B. Keep moving. Keep progressing. And today reminded me that sailing is so much more than that. It’s arriving in places you never expected. Meeting people you would never otherwise meet. Being welcomed with open arms by a sailing club on a random island in the Atlantic. ► Saturday, May 16 ► Over the past few days, sargassum seaweed has started to appear. At first, there were only a few isolated brown patches, but gradually the brown algae began forming long chains across the surface of the water. Since the dolphins at the beginning of our crossing, we haven’t seen any more marine mammals, much to my disappointment. I must admit that I still keep scanning the horizon whenever I step onto the deck, with the slightly naïve hope of spotting a whale in the distance. ► After several days at sea, Punch is also beginning to show the marks of the crossing. A thin layer of salt seems to settle everywhere constantly, and in the saloon, crumbs, dust, and flying fish scales quickly start to accumulate. So we brought out buckets of seawater to give the saloon a thorough cleaning, and honestly, having a fresh and tidy living space again feels incredibly good. Fresh water is also becoming precious: we only have 250 liters left on board, so naturally we have to be careful. Although, quite ironically, the announcement suddenly gave everyone an overwhelming urge to take a shower! ► Our sweet supplies are also running dangerously low, including breakfast essentials. Since there are only three chocolate bars left on board, I decided to make crêpes to bring a little comfort to the crew. `` ► We’re all starting to feel a bit worn out from the night watches, the heat, and the constant motion of the boat. Snatching a few minutes of sleep during the day has become almost essential if we want to handle the night shifts in good condition. ► Sign up for our newsletter and win a free two-month subscription to Multihulls World by clicking here: https://bit.ly/48JP1Vk ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 600 multihulls tests! If you’re tired of dry, boring pork roasts, this ultimate spiral-cut stuffed pork roast is the game-changer your backyard menu needs. In this video, we are firing up the Pit Boss Titan pellet smoker to master the technique of butterfly slicing, rolling, and smoking a incredibly juicy pork loin stuffed with a savory blend of sausage, crisp apples, and sharp cheddar cheese. While we are running this on the pellet grill for that incredible wood-fired flavor, this exact step-by-step preparation method works flawlessly whether you are cooking on a Blackstone griddle, a traditional charcoal grill, or right in your kitchen oven. The secret to this recipe isn't just the mouthwatering sausage and apple filling—it’s the foolproof technique that you can adapt to any season, holiday, or flavor profile you love. We break down the entire process from slicing to tying, checking internal temperatures, and locking in maximum moisture so you get a perfect slice every single time. 🛥️ This 48-Foot Yacht Lives Like a 65 — Absolute 48 Coupé Full Tour In this YachtLens walkthrough from the Anacortes Boat Show and Trawler Fest, we step aboard the Absolute 48 Coupé with Roderick Roy from SeaNet Yachts. The Absolute 48 Coupé surprised me. At just under 49 feet, this modern Italian coupe yacht delivers exceptional interior volume, three spacious staterooms, a bright glass-filled main deck, a wide open aft cockpit terrace, Volvo Penta IPS propulsion, and a solar roof designed to help support onboard systems while at anchor. If you enjoyed our walkthrough of the Lexus LY680, this Absolute 48 Coupé offers another fascinating look at modern yacht design, this time in a more compact 48-foot coupe format. No flybridge, no wasted space, and a layout that feels much larger than the numbers suggest. In this full yacht walkthrough, Roderick Roy from SeaNet Yachts takes us through the exterior spaces, aft cockpit, salon, helm, galley, accommodations, three-stateroom layout, systems, and design features that make the Absolute 48 Coupé such an interesting option in the luxury coupe yacht category. Special thanks to Roderick Roy and SeaNet Yachts for making this walkthrough possible. The main deck features large windows, opening side windows, a wide aft cockpit terrace, and a clean single-level flow between the cockpit, galley, salon, and helm. Below deck, the Absolute 48 Coupé offers three comfortable cabins with generous headroom and a layout that gives the yacht a much bigger feel than many boats in the 48-foot category. The solar roof adds another smart feature, helping support onboard systems and reduce generator use while enjoying time at anchor. After three weeks at sea, some things just feel… different. Have you ever been in a situation where you suddenly can’t do something, and then it becomes the thing you want more than anything? That’s what sailing does to you. I’m normally not even a big fan of running, but out there all I could think about was how badly I wanted to move my body properly again. To walk. To run. To stretch without falling over. So arriving in Horta felt amazing for so many reasons. We went for walks, runs, proper workouts. And honestly, it felt incredible. Funny how quickly normal things become luxuries out there. And Horta itself was such a cool experience. It’s truly a sailor town. You can feel it everywhere. We went to Peter Café Sport, painted our logo on the harbor wall like sailors have done for years, and just got to experience all those little traditions you hear about before arriving. Super grateful we made it there. It was one of those stops I know I’ll remember for a very long time. 🌊 ⚓ Life on the Showgirl is my journey toward one of the toughest solo sailing races on the planet: the Golden Globe Race — sailed solo, non-stop, and without modern technology. Sailing around the world in a Bavaria 55 Cruiser, mostly solo, making videos whenever we have time for it. Comfortable at sea with 4 decades of sailing experience and hundreds of thousands of miles behind me. Even though this is season 8 on YouTube, I did not make that many videos in the beginning, and obviously not from my entire sailing life. Before full-time sailing 7 years ago, I sailed several seasons in the Mediterranean, and obviously also in Scandinavia. I had my first sailboat at age 7 and have been sailing and racing ever since. I also have more than 10 years of experience as a captain in search and rescue at sea in Norway.

Finally made it to land… which honestly just meant the work started 😅 First mission: deal with the yankee. The damn thing almost came loose during the crossing and then decided to become an absolute nightmare to remove. The struggle was very real. After that, it was the usual post-crossing routine: clean the boat, provisioning, laundry, fixing all the little things that broke along the way, and eating as much land food as possible before leaving again. It was a short stop, but definitely not a relaxing one. And with the next weather window opening, it was time to leave again. So off I went, heading towards France, leaving Gabi behind on land (which she was VERY happy about 😅). And once again… just me and the ocean. We Fixed the Sail… But Now the Rigging Might Fail | Day 8 We fixed the sail and set off again… but now we’re worried the rigging might fail. After tearing our sail on our first attempt to leave the Bahamas, we finally get it repaired and feel ready to try again. We haul anchor, hoist the sails, and set off towards Colombia… hoping this time everything goes to plan. But almost immediately, something doesn’t feel right. Our new rigging is making us second guess everything. It seems looser than it should be, and out here in open ocean, that’s not exactly something you want to be unsure about. Add to that another questionable weather forecast, and we’re already pushing into 30 knots of wind… again. We’re hoping things settle down tomorrow. …but they don’t. This is just the beginning of what turns into a much tougher passage than we expected. In this episode, we leave Toau on an overnight passage to Tikehau. We waited for a good weather window, hoping to avoid a repeat of our last passage. Welcome to our channel and a glimpse into our life adventure! 2020 was a year of uncertainty and change (for all of us, right?), but we overcame the challenges and decided it was time to chase our dream, to sail around the world! Did I mention that we had very NO sailing experience? Before leaving Qingdao, China, our home of 4 years, we sold almost all of our earthly possessions and started our international search to find the right sailboat that we would call "home." After 5 months of unanticipated twists and turns, we found what we were looking for, a used Leopard 44' Catamaran located in St. Lucia. So, here begins our journey, filled with unmatched excitement and honestly, a bit of trepidation as well. We have much to learn as we travel the world on our floating home and we intend to document that journey and share it with you. Take your personal data back with Incogni! Use code ATTICUS at the link below and get 60% off an annual plan: https://incogni.com/atticus This week on the build of our mountain home outside Bryson City, North Carolina, we’re finally insulating our house — and I got to suit up and follow the spray foam crew through the entire process. I’ve been really curious about spray foam insulation because it’s not just insulation. It also air seals the house, fills every little gap between the framing and sheathing, and turns the roof/attic area into part of the conditioned space. But it also comes with some serious trade-offs: cost, installation quality, roof leak concerns, and the need for intentional ventilation once the house becomes this airtight. In this episode, we watch the crew prep the house, protect the windows and floors, mix the spray foam chemicals at the gun, spray the wall cavities and roof deck, trim the foam flush, and then install fiberglass batt insulation in the interior walls for sound control. Then I walk through why I chose spray foam for this build, what problems I think it solves, and what concerns I still have about it. ► The Multihulls World community is already familiar with the Tricat 6.90, which we previously tested in particularly rough conditions. For this trial of the new sportier version, the breeze barely exceeded 10 knots, yet that was already enough to feel some impressive bursts of acceleration in the gusts. ► Why “XL”? Because each beam is 8" (20 cm) longer. As for the mast - an AG+ carbon profile - it gains 1’8" (50 cm), supporting a 258 sq ft (24 m²) mainsail and a 129 sq ft (12 m²) solent, while also being able to fly downwind sails from the masthead. The deck hardware has been optimized as well, with upgraded jib tracks, barber haulers, and Cunningham controls. Inside, several carbon-fiber trim panels clearly show that the weight-saving campaign is underway! This new model retains its ultra-efficient folding system - one minute per float - allowing the beam to shrink to 8' (2.45 m) for transport. ► Technical Specifications: Builder: Tricat Naval Architects: Tricat / Jack Michal Length: 22’8”/25’7” (6.9/7.8 m) Beam: 8’0”/16’5” (2.45/5 m) Draft: 11”/3’11” (0.28/1.2 m) Displacement: 1,587 lbs (720 kg) Engine: 3.5/6 hp outboard CE Category: C5/D6 Price: €95,000 excluding VAT ► www.trimaran-tricat.com ► Sign up for our newsletter and win a free two-month subscription to Multihulls World by clicking here: https://bit.ly/48JP1Vk ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 600 multihulls tests! New verse, same as the first... yes, it was time to put the daggerboard casing into the port hull and glue down the sole, a repeat of two week's ago on the Starboard side. But, it's a catamaran, so redundancy is in it's nature! But we tackled the job full steam ahead! So come join Captain Blood, Admiral Marianne, and our XO, Brian as we build our 50' performance cruising catamaran for a circumnavigation voyage. Some boats don’t ask for attention; they just quietly earn trust the moment you step on board. The Boston Whaler 330 Vantage is one of those boats. Who is this boat really for? It’s built for experienced, family-oriented owners, often couples who have been boating for years and now want something that removes complexity. A platform for hosting kids and grandkids, where safety, visibility, and ease of use matter more than speed or offshore range. We then break it down properly: How it drives in real conditions Where it shines (social layout, comfort, safety, simplicity) Where it doesn’t (no overnight capability, limited offshore focus) And what you should compare it with before making a decision By the end, it becomes less about what the boat is and more about whether this is the kind of boating experience that actually fits your life now.

I was skeptical at first, but after installing the NOCO Genius 2 bank battery charger on my boat, I was surprised how quiet it was. It had literally NO sound at all when charging my batteries on my Catalina sailboat. Finally I can sleep at night. Her får I første del. Lidt uheld, lidt mad, MEGET lidt søvn og måske endelig en fisk?
