As we step in urgently to skipper a friend's Leopard 45 from Tahiti to Fiji, we experience many barriers, Customs problems, narrow cuts through the fringing reef with breaking waves and strong currents, and undulating waves putting our crew down with sea sickness and then the big one - huge lightning storms blocking our passage and we have no alternative but to grit our teeth and go through... This was probably the worst lightning storm we have been in with at least 3 vertical strikes hitting the water close to the boat and continuous lightning all around.
