Who knew there’d be such a bounty of seafood hiding just behind what has been claimed as the world’s most beautiful beach? We took the tender up into the creek systems of Hill Inlet after hearing rumours of mud crabs lurking in the mangroves – and we weren’t disappointed. A few well-placed pots later and we had ourselves a decent haul. Special shout out to Kev & Kate from @BaittoPlate for the tips and sharing their chicken bait - legends. Then, while anchored in a stunning stretch of turquoise water, we threw in a line and landed some squid… one of which made a last-ditch attempt to escape by squirting ink all over Kym. (Classic squid move, 10/10 for drama.) We topped it off with a beach stop all to ourselves – just us, the sand, and the quiet hum of nature. It’s wild to think how much life is teeming just out of sight in places like this. Hill Inlet isn’t just beautiful above the water – it’s thriving beneath it too. It’s one of those pinch-yourself moments. Every day out here, this trip keeps surprising us. Thanks for watching. We are Easy Day Adventures, a family of four taking one adventure at a time. In this video series we are pointing North to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska to go swimming up in the Arctic Ocean. Why? Because its there. Plus, it will make a great adventure for our growing boys who are learning how to dream BIG. Why not come along for the ride? Sometimes we live on our sailboat, other time we explore Terra Firma with our OVRLND rig. Either way, its always an adventure! In this video we get some fresh tires in Grand Prairie, Alberta before heading up the Alaska Highway into the Northern Canadian Rockies. Along the way we find an abandoned campground where we setup for the night. We didn’t spend too long because the bugs drove us further North to Muncho Lake. We really enjoyed the campground at Muncho Lake. The water wasn’t too cold for a refreshing cold bath and there are so many amazing trails nearby. We chose to jump on the Stone Sheep’s Trail that heads up into the mountains near the Sentinel Range. This was a great hike to burn off some of the boy’s energy and after we relaxed just a bit further North in the Laird River Hot Springs. It was only $10 CAD for the whole family to spend the afternoon at the hot springs. If you find yourself passing through the Northern Canadian Rockies, this is a must do! We were able to pack so much into that one day that we decided to push a little further up the ALCAN before dinner. We discovered some tucked away camping along the Laird River just West of Watson Lake. After some great rest listening to the water flow past all night, we pointed West to the Alaska border with British Columbia. Thanks for watching!

We continue our Sail Malaysia Rally with a passage from Langkawi to Penang, and this leg was full of surprises! 🐟⛵ Not long after setting sail, we hooked our first ever fish—but in the chaos of trying to bring it aboard, Chris ended up with a nasty cut on his foot and the fish got away. Thankfully, the ocean gave us a second chance with a beautiful Spanish mackerel, which made for an epic fresh dinner! We arrived into Straits Quay Marina and took time to explore the vibrant island of Penang—famous for its incredible street art, rich culture, and stunning views from Penang Hill, where we met some of the cutest locals: the adorable Dusky Leaf Monkeys. 🐒🎨 Join us as we sail, fish, explore, and discover another unforgettable part of Malaysia! Timestamps if you like to Jump Right In: 00:00 Intro 00:27 Catching our first fish 05:14 Penang 09:20 Penang Hill, Dusky Leaf Monkeys WHO ARE WE? Hey there! We’re Chris and Jo, an ordinary Aussie couple living our extraordinary dream aboard our Seawind 1260 since January 2019 and now we continue from 2024 aboard our new 1370! Our adventure began with an unforgettable journey down the east coast of Australia, followed by a sail to the stunning New Caledonia. In 2020, we continued our exploration further north, and by 2021 and 2022, we circumnavigated Australia, discovering breathtaking locations along the way. Having previously owned fishing and water-skiing boats, our passion for sailing deepened after crewing in South Australia, leading us to make the leap into full-time living at sea. We hope to inspire you, just as we were inspired by other YouTube channels, to chase your dreams and explore the wonders of this beautiful world. #boatfoolssailing #classicyacht #CutterSailboat #sailboatforsale #WoodenBoatLove We Fell Hard for This 47-Foot Classic Sailboat! Eldredge-McInnis Cutter at $81k! Chapters: 00:00 Where is Canadian Ken? 00:50 Intro to this Beauty and to Jordi St. John and MITA 03:33 The HUGE Cockpit 07:31 Canadian Ken Gives Us the Tour of the Deck 12:48 I Impersonate Usain Bolt and Head Below 14:35 The Head 15:04 The V-Berth - It's Enormous 16:12 The Galley! 18:22 The Engine and Engine Compartment 20:43 Down on the Hard - The Keel and Topsides 22:50 Final Thoughts and Canadian Ken Beats Me at Chess We couldn’t stop smiling when we stepped aboard Prowess. Canadian Ken and I fell hard for this 47-foot cutter, and we think you will too. Designed by Eldredge-McInnis and launched in 1947 at the Stockden yard in Detroit, Prowess is one of those rare classic yachts that stops you in your tracks. She’s graceful, strong, and simply stunning under sail or at the dock. In the 1980s, Prowess underwent a comprehensive three-year restoration that transformed her from stem to stern. The ballast was removed, the deck and cabin house rebuilt, interior refinished, and a substantial portion of the planking and backbone replaced. She received a new deck, expanded and improved cabin house, modernized systems and rigging, and a fresh Westerbeke diesel (now with less than 900 hours). Additional highlights: - Full complement of sails (plus spares!) - Gorgeous interior with updated furnishings - Stored indoors on a dirt floor (ideal for preserving classic yachts) - Offered at $81,000 OBRO [See below re: Chainplates] Prowess was generously donated to the Maine Island Trail Association (MITA), and 100% of the proceeds from this sale will support their nonprofit mission. Note: Chainplates will need to be replaced (survey estimates $15k–$20k at Belmont Boatworks). This is negotiable as part of the purchase price. This is more than just a boat—it’s a piece of American yachting history that sails like a dream. If you’ve ever wanted to own a true classic, this is your moment. For more information or to schedule a showing, contact Jordi St. John at: jordi@mita.org THANKS FOR WATCHING AND FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT! -BoatFools Sailing Team Real boats, real people, real fun! This week, we’re diving into a project that’s been quietly taking shape in the background: building our helm seat from scratch. While it might seem like a small piece of the boat, it plays a major role in both comfort and functionality—so we wanted to get it just right. Inspired by the layout of the Max Cruise hull 16, but aiming for something much lighter, we decided to build ours entirely out of foam and fiberglass—no metal frame and no extra weight. In this episode, we take you through the full process: from cutting and laminating Nida-core panels, to bonding and shaping the seat, and laying down multiple layers of glass using both vinyl-ester and polyester resin. You'll even get a peek into one of our vacuum bagging sessions, complete with that oddly satisfying whoosh as the bag seals down tight. While we were hoping to get the seat attached to the cabin top before releasing this video, we had a somewhat unexpected trip home. There was a memorial service to attend for a family member - so back to Michigan we went. And after a few days with family, bonding over old memories, the two of us took a side trip to Northern Michigan to relive some old memories of our own. We hope you enjoy!! Thanks as always for being here and supporting us through each stage of this build. We love having a place like this where we can share not just the progress, but also the quiet moments and the why behind every decision. 💙
