Within the first eight days on the hard we were able to scrub and prep the bottom, strip the saildrives, repair the damaged rub rail, remove and prep the daggerboards, paint four coats of anti fouling on all wetted surfaces, and complete all of the routine saildrive maintenance. On this embarrassing episode Of Onboard Lifestyle, the crew settles in to life back on basik. In just a few short weeks, the Panama weather had made a mess both inside and out. A multiday scrub was in order to make life just a bit more comfortable. With musty clothes and linens, fixing our ailing washing machine was now top priority. What we thought would be a serious project turned out to be quite the comedy show. With red cheeks, we now have to concentrate on our standing rigging before basik gets hauled out. Unfortunately, time runs out as the crane shows up for the big lift before everything that needed to happen could happen. Last minute temporary changes had to be implemented to make this milestone moment all come together.
