Step aboard SHAIMA, a 2017 Hylas 63 with a story few yachts can match. Over the past nine years, SHAIMA has voyaged more than 80,000 nautical miles, carrying her owners across oceans, through remote anchorages, and around the world with the confidence, comfort, and capability that have made Hylas one of the most respected names in bluewater sailing. Designed by German Frers and built by Hylas Yachts, the Hylas 63 is a true raised saloon offshore cruiser, combining powerful sailing performance with a beautifully appointed interior, protected center cockpit, serious passagemaking systems, and the volume needed for extended life aboard. SHAIMA is not a yacht that merely promises offshore capability — she has proven it, mile after mile, across nearly a decade of world voyaging. Her story is one of serious ownership, thoughtful preparation, and continuous investment. Most notably, SHAIMA is the only known Hylas to have returned to the Hylas yard in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, for a major refit, a rare and meaningful chapter in her history that speaks directly to the level of care she has received. Returning to the original builder for this work is a significant distinction and further reinforces her pedigree within the Hylas fleet. Today, SHAIMA represents an exceptional opportunity for a buyer seeking a proven, modern, large bluewater cruising yacht with real-world experience behind her. Her 80,000-mile voyaging history, Hylas build quality, Frers design, substantial refit background, and elegant raised saloon layout make her a compelling choice for owners looking to continue the adventure without starting from scratch. “I deeply believe in innovation. It is what fuels everything.” These are the words of Stassi Anastassov, the new Global CEO of Ferretti Group, in one of his very first interviews after taking leadership of one of the most influential groups in the global yachting industry. And we at The Boat Show were among the very first media outlets to sit down with him. In this conversation, Anastassov does not simply talk about yachts. He talks about vision, structure, innovation and long-term value. About the importance of protecting creativity and passion while building the invisible foundations that allow a company to grow, evolve and remain relevant for decades. Because behind every iconic brand there must be something deeper than design, products or success. There must be processes. There must be organization. There must be a structure strong enough to support the future. Like the foundations of a house. Like the unseen mass of an iceberg beneath the surface. A powerful perspective from a leader now called to guide the future of one of the most iconic names in international yachting. #FerrettiGroup #StassiAnastassov #TheBoatShow #YachtingIndustry #LuxuryYachts
For more information at PuRo Systems remarkable water purifying system for yachts: www.puro-systems.com To read the article about their product on Project Zero: https://www.marinebusinessworld.com/news/281852/PuRO-partners-with-Vitters-on-Project-Zero Today we are looking at one of the most ambitious yacht projects currently under construction: PROJECT ZERO, a 69 metre sailing superyacht being built with no diesel engines, no generators, no fuel tanks and no fossil fuel on board. At first glance, that sounds almost impossible. After all, large yachts require enormous amounts of energy, not only for propulsion but also for air conditioning, refrigeration, lighting, hot water and all the other systems needed to create a luxury environment at sea. So how can a yacht of this size operate without conventional power? In this video, David explores the technology and thinking behind PROJECT ZERO, including her use of wind power, solar energy, hydrogeneration and advanced energy storage systems. More importantly, he looks at the wider question the project is asking: not simply how yachts generate energy, but how much energy they really need in the first place. Designed by Vripack with Dykstra Naval Architects and currently under construction at Vitters Shipyard in the Netherlands, PROJECT ZERO is much more than a new yacht. It is an attempt to rethink the way energy is produced, stored and consumed on board. Whether PROJECT ZERO represents the future of superyacht design or remains a fascinating one-off experiment is open to debate. But there is little doubt that the ideas behind her will spark discussion throughout the industry. If you are interested in yacht design, sustainability, engineering innovation or the future of superyachts, this is a project well worth exploring. If you’re interested in joining a sailing experience on the frigate Shtandart, you can find different options on their website: https://shtandart.eu They take volunteers, trainees, and also regular participants for voyages. There are also opportunities to take part in ship maintenance when the vessel is in port. This video is probably the one I worked on the longest before releasing it. I had to rewrite it many times because I really wanted to capture what I felt during that week, but every version kept coming out too cheesy) It’s not easy to talk about something powerful without it turning sentimental. At Excess, we believe that adventure is not limited to a territory. It is a state of mind. A desire to go off the beaten track, to follow your instinct and to see what lies beyond the horizon. It is precisely this philosophy that led us to meet Paul Aubertin, a whitewater kayaker. Between the rapids of wild rivers and the ocean, our worlds may seem opposite at first glance. Yet they share the same quest: that of freedom. Chez Excess, nous croyons que l'aventure ne se limite pas à un territoire. Elle est un état d'esprit. We leave beautiful Sivota Bay in Lefkada aboard INDARA, our Najad 380, and head out into the stunning blue Ionian waters. The day starts with incredibly light winds, but INDARA surprises again by sailing comfortably at around 6 knots in almost no breeze. Along the way we enjoy peaceful sailing, calm seas, and the relaxing atmosphere of the Greek islands. Later, after anchoring, the weather changes and stronger winds arrive, giving us a reminder that conditions in the Ionian can shift quickly — but everything stays safe and under control. Join us for another relaxed sailing day aboard our floating home as we continue exploring Greece one bay at a time. ⛵ Boat: Najad 380 “INDARA” 🌊 Location: Sivota Bay, Lefkada, Greece ☀️ Calm sailing, light winds, anchoring & stronger gusts If you enjoy real sailing life, cruising Greece, anchoring adventures, and life aboard a bluewater sailboat, subscribe and sail along with us! #sailing #greece #liveaboard #najad380 #ioniansea #sailboatlife

Another old photo CD rescued from the digital abyss. This one held a trunk restoration Ben and I tackled back in 2003. We had stumbled across a rare wall trunk—one that was clearly begging to be saved. Wall trunks were unusual pieces, built by only a handful of craftsmen, each using their own patented hinge system that allowed the trunk to open fully while sitting flat against a wall. Because of those clever mechanisms, they cost more than the average trunk. And like all trunks, they carried a history. What stories could this one tell? Who owned it? Where had it traveled? What treasures once rested inside? This particular trunk was made by Eggeman, Duguid & Company, a respected late 19th century manufacturer out of Toledo, Ohio. They were known for producing high quality canvas covered steamer trunks, and their signature “wall saver” designs. The company operated from the 1880s into the early 1900s and even offered a lifetime guarantee on their hinge system. This trunk dated circa 1890. Wall trunks are still highly sought after today, so finding one in need of rescuing felt like striking gold. This one had once been covered in green canvas, but over the years it had been painted black—again and again. The canvas was torn and missing in places, far beyond saving. With its flat lid, it had likely spent years at the bottom of cargo stacks in steamship holds, and it showed the scars: stress fractures, cracks, and begging for plenty of repairs. Restoring this trunk was a fun project, and Ben was thrilled with the result. He still treasures it today. Another trunk rescued, another trunk ready to collect new moments in time." When racing did get underway there were heart stopping moments that led to big questions being asked once again about the 2026 SailGP season. Day 50 and 51 are in the books and we're still going strong! This morning I got back on the bike for the first time in several days after giving my knee a rest. The first few minutes were tough, but once I got moving everything loosened up and, surprisingly, my knee feels better than it has for a few days. Yesterday's workouts were battle ropes, IsoBow training, and an evening walk that completely drained me. Sometimes during 75 Hard the body simply needs refuelling, so last night it was jacket potatoes and chicken to get some quality carbs back into the system. The difference this morning was remarkable. One thing I've learned during this challenge is that when you're training every single day without rest days, recovery becomes just as important as the workouts themselves. The biggest change though? 75 Hard no longer feels like a challenge. It's become a habit. With only 26 days remaining, we're already looking ahead to the next goal — training for the Santorini Experience Open Water Swim, a 2.5km crossing of the famous caldera. Now that we’re back in the water, we’re starting up our new Northern Lights generator for the first time on our Lagoon 42 sailing catamaran.
On Sunday at the Mubadala New York Sail Grand Prix there was a collision involving three teams in the final seconds before the Race 3 start. Approaching the start line there were two distinct groups, with Italy, Switzerland and Great Britain at the leeward end, while Canada, USA and Brazil were further to windward. Brazil were coming in from further back on a higher line at over 60 kph, whereas the other teams were all averaging around 30 to 40 kph, while the groups closer to the line were converging, so the gap for Brazil was rapidly diminishing. Phil Roberton on the Italian boat was at this point concerned with two things: crossing the line too early and the Swiss boat on his tail, accelerating towards the line and having to go progressively higher to avoid an OCS. Brazil by this point had an overlap to leeward of USA, who seemed unaware of the developing situation to their leeward side. With Italy continuing to go up, Brazil had nowhere to go, hitting both the USA and then Italy, causing them to turn further into the wind across the bow of the USA. Technically, Italy were allowed to luff up within the bounds of Rule 16, which defines what a right of way boat can do when changing course, however Rule 14 requires a right of way boat to avoid contact where reasonably possible, but only when it’s clear that others aren’t keeping clear. The Italian team should also be looking into the space they are about to occupy when turning right (like looking over your shoulder when overtaking on a motorway). The majority of the blame was placed on the U.S. Team with a 7 point penalty, while the Italians were given a 4 point penalty. The Brazilian team hadn’t broken Rule 14 so had no penalty points.

Watch the full episode here: https://youtu.be/tw6iHas8F7c We're back with part 2 of our cabin transformation, and it's finally time for the big reveal! We take you through the final steps (complete with some curveballs because, ya know, boat building...) and a look back at just how far we've come. The cabins are an especially exciting part of the boat to see come to life since it feels the most like home. To think about Sierra filling her cabin with stuffed animals and unicorn decorations, to imagine all the friends and family that will crash out in the guest bunk, all the nights on anchor, all the places in the world that we will call home for the night...With all the focus lately on the systems, it feels like such a sweet reminder of our future lives at sea on Delos 2.0. We are sooo proud of how far we've come and how much we've learned along the way, and of course SOOO freaking grateful to all of you for supporting and sharing in the journey with us along the way! #Voilier #Renovation #Bateau #Regate #LeBateauDesCopains #Surprise
