This episode is all about the simple pleasures that make living aboard ARGO worth every mile. I leave the stunning Forbes Island and make the short sail toward Margaret Bay in gentle conditions — a relaxed passage through one of the most beautiful stretches of Far North Queensland. Once anchored, the real fun begins. Margaret Bay is loaded with massive black lip oysters, and I waste no time collecting them straight off the rocks. Some of these monsters weigh over half a kilogram each, and getting them open is a serious challenge. After plenty of persistence (and a few stubborn shells), I finally dial in a technique that works. Fresh oysters with lemon juice and cracked pepper… absolute heaven. The feast doesn’t stop there. Coconuts are everywhere, and there’s nothing quite like sitting at the helm while sailing, drinking coconut water straight from the shell with a straw. It feels incredible to harvest such amazing food directly from the environment — completely free, completely fresh, and completely satisfying. A calm sail, a beautiful anchorage, and a bounty of wild food. This is boat life at its best. Thanks for watching. We're back in Gladstone, Queensland, getting our 52ft sailing catamaran, SV Emma James, ready for a 400-nautical-mile sail south. Our plan is to bring both boats together at the same marina (finally!) so we can get stuck into the major refit of Salloo, our newly purchased 62ft former Australian Police vessel. Before we can cast off from Gladstone, we have a list of jobs and things to do! We have to scrub Emma's hull, checking the propellers and anodes, doing oil changes, replacing engine mounts and reprovision while we wait for next week's northerly weather window. How extreme can offshore racing monohulls get? And when the boats are this fast, what does it take to win? In Part 3 of our Route du Rhum 2026 coverage, we take a close look at the extraordinary monohull fleets preparing for the 3,500-mile solo transatlantic race from Saint-Malo to Guadeloupe. We've spent four years looking for the best bike to have on board Fair Isle. After giving away our old bikes to friends in Turkey because they were too heavy and used up too much space, we found we really missed having bikes aboard. We needed to find a model that folded up small, was light enough to get in the dinghy and to shore and was good quality and nice to ride. Previously we had always found fold up bikes were not a good ride, they creaked and rattled, felt jittery and quickly fell apart. We needed to find a quality bike that was good to ride and would last at sea. To be honest this search shouldn't have taken too long. Being British we have come across Brompton bikes before, we knew people who had them and swore by them. Our neighbour in Eastbourne marina had 3! One for the boat, one for his RV and one for home. However we had never ridden a Brompton and being in the Med and then the Caribbean didn't have them available to try. Until we got to Gibraltar that is. Gibraltar has a big bike shop next to Ocean Village Marina and it rents bikes for going up the rock, it is also a Brompton dealer. You may have seen in our episode there we tried out several models and knew straight away we had found the bike we needed. The only thing was we weren't sure of which model. Luckily for us Brompton agreed to let us have some bikes on loan to test out and decide which would suit us best, and hopefully give our viewers an insight into what these bikes can offer. So in this video we go through that testing and give you the results. It seems the world is catching on to the unique quality of Brompton bikes and they are expanding world wide, that's a very good thing because you should now be able to buy one where ever you are. Oh Schreck! Gerade als wir schwimmen gehen wollen, erscheint ein Hai am Boot!!! Das Schwimmen verschieben wir lieber, bis das Viech nicht mehr zu sehen ist. Seitdem schauen wir immer sehr genau, ob wieder eine Flosse zu sehen ist, bevor wir ins Wasser springen. Wir treffen zwei befreundete Paare, von denen eines von einer gruseligen Erfahrung mit Pflastern gegen Seekrankheit berichtet, drucken wieder Bootsteile auf dem 3D-Drucker und segeln weiter nach Lanzarote. Viel Spaß 😀 Oh no! Just as we’re about to go for a swim, a shark appears near the boat!!! We decide to postpone our swim until the creature is out of sight. Ever since then, we always check very carefully to see if a fin is visible before we jump into the water. We meet two couples who are friends of ours; one of them tells us about a scary experience with seasickness patches. We print more boat parts on the 3D printer and sail on to Lanzarote. Have fun! 😀

MAGIC is a beautiful and heavily optioned Picnic Boat MKIII that has just completed a comprehensive 2026 systems refit. Her original build sheet includes the most desirable options: upgraded Volvo D6-435hp engines (same as new PB37s), a full varnished teak package, teak decks with black seams, Seakeeper 3 gyro stabilizer, 9kW Onan generator, and reverse-cycle air conditioning/heat in both the pilothouse and cabin. In 2026 her machinery and systems were renewed from the bilge up, including a new generator, a factory-reconditioned Seakeeper, serviced engines and jets, all-new hydraulic hoses, a machinery-space rewire, new batteries and freshly refinished brightwork. Poros besteht eigentlich aus zwei Teilen: der kleineren Vulkaninsel Sphairia, auf der sich die Hauptstadt befindet, und der größeren, grünen Insel Kalavria. Die beiden Teile sind durch eine schmale Meerenge getrennt. Besonders auffällig ist die üppige Vegetation – Pinienwälder bedecken große Teile der Insel und verleihen ihr eine fast schon ungewöhnlich grüne Landschaft für griechische Verhältnisse.

After 5,000 miles sailing across France, Spain, Tunisia and Italy, it’s time to put Rúna to bed for the winter. And it’s our final video aboard her as she goes up for sale! In this episode, we take you through how we winterise and decommission our Excess 11 sailing catamaran for winter storage. We take down all the sails (mainsail, genoa and Code 0), remove the lazy bag and lazy jacks, wash the sails and lines in fresh water, climb the mast in a bosun’s chair, and lift the outboard and tender onboard for storage. But this isn’t the end of the adventure!
