‘Wilyali’ is a 2022 Hanse 418 listed exclusively for sale with YOTI on Pittwater. https://www.yoti.com.au/listing/hanse-418-wilyali-1 This is a yacht presenting in near new condition and boasts a huge list of both factory and local extras. She is comfortably the highest specified Hanse we have seen in any 40 foot model. ‘Wilyali’ is the two cabin / single head option. This allows for the larger owner’s berth and cabin plus includes the extended galley which leads to the super practical storage cabin. There is a second large factory fitted drawer fridge. The nav desk / coffee table lowers to allow a full-length sofa or additional single berth. The saloon seating also converts to an additional double berth. Just some of the major upgrades include air conditioning, bow thruster, davits integrated into the bimini, additional water tank (475L total), 600 Ah lithium batteries, solar, the larger 57Hp Yanmar engine with 3 blade folding propeller, upgraded Rocna anchor and chain. There is a full boat cover plus full cockpit covers (dodger with screen, bimini with infill and even side wings). The engine has only logged around 140 hours. This is a vessel which will appeal to those considering a new purchase without dealing with the build and wait times, and importantly without the time and effort to fit out a cruising vessel to a very high level. The conditions here are only going to be around 25 knots, but that’s not the point, it's an example and weather changes, builds early, shifts angle, and can still catch people out. The goal is to make sure you’re never reacting late, never scrambling, and never at the mercy of the situation. We go through: -Building a clear weather plan and logging it properly -Preparing mentally, physically, and practically before things get rough -Setting the boat up so everything is where it needs to be -Clothing, food, hydration, and energy management -Making the interior safe — including where you land if you get thrown -Winch setup and adding a locking turn to stop lines ripping free at the worst moment. Here are three tips I recommend to every new catamaran owner for after closing. 1) Hire a training captain to teach you how to not only manuever your boat, but also help teach you the systems. 2) Remove everything from the boat, give her a deep clean, put everything you want to save back on board the boat, and make a detailed inventory of what you have on the boat and where you stowed it away. 1) Set a timeline for getting off the dock, and stick to that timeline.
