Sailing Refit Bulkhead in Engine Room Bay. In this episode, we install a new bulkhead that will also be the base for the battery box and shaft area. In this episode we completed the refit on the keel bilge area after 4 months of hard work Follow us on https://www.noforeignland.com/boat/5953500167012352?sid=5524520897085440&tc=1622559389288 Please Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_JK6Lmdh7pnO7VnIKUgRzQ Support us on https://gogetfunding.com/RoyalAtenea/ Thank you for our Supporters: Andrew Mayer; Gautier Blin Who are we? Our passion is Sailing and the Sea, we bought Royal Atenea with the intention to start cruising around the world after spending all our lives working hard at sea. After we bought this beauty we found that it needed some love and care as it was abandoned by the previous owners so we are taking our time to bring her back to life. Eventually around the world trip will commence when the boat is fully upgraded for crossing the oceans and other continents. We are also working on the Electric Conversion of the first Jongert. About the Boat ''SY ROYAL ATENEA'' was built in Holland in 1973. Her original name was ''Antares''.She is a Jongert Trewes Design with 5mm Steel Hull and rigged as a Ketch with Aluminium Masts. Her LOA is 19.3m and she has a beam of 4.6m with a draft of 2.98m She weighs 33t and she can cruise at 7 kts with the engine and 8-10 kts on sail depending on the wind. She is fairly comfortable with 15 to 20 kts of wind. Freshwater capacity to last over 2 weeks and a fuel range of 13 days steaming. About the Boat ''SY Red Current'' is a Southerly 31 with the construction of GRP and rigged as a sloop with Aluminium Mast. Her LOA is 31 feet and she has a beam of 10 feet with a draft of 7 feet. She also has an electric swing keel which makes her draft very shallow and easy to enter in shallow water. We just sold EVERYTHING to start our DREAM LIFE! Join us on our journey towards buying a 46FT Beneteau Oceanis in Italy. In this episode we are roadtripping to Grado, Italy, to see the boat. We will discuss our first findings after viewing it. Thank you for watching and please subscribe to join us on our journey! Hi everyone! We are Dirk and Maraya. We just decided to sell our house, and actually everything we own. Our possessions felt like weight and we had a dream. Corona made us realise that if we want to do something big, we should do it now. As afraid as we are to start this adventure, we are going for it with confidence, as we are following our hearts. For the past 8 years Dirk has been dreaming of taking this step. Dirk has been saving money, doing courses, and preparing for this major step. Maraya shares the passion of the ocean and living more sustainable, and also shares this passion about discovering the world from the water! Our inspiration comes from amazing people from channels like: Sailing Doodles, Sailing Zatara, Sailing La Vagabonde, Gone with the Wynns, Sailing SV Delos, Sailing Project Atticus, Finding Avalon, GoSea Sailing, Lazy Gecko, Free Range Sailing, MJ Sailing and many many more. We are fans ourselves. But it is time for us to now create our own journey. It would not have been the same without you. This episode was filmed in 01 / 2021. — Welcome to Untie The Lines! my name is Nike, I bought an aluminum 37 foot sailboat in Panama in 2013 that I named KARL. I spent a good year refitting it, mostly by myself and with the help of awesome friends, and then (mostly) solo sailed my sailboat around the western Caribbean. In 2016, I crossed the Panama Canal, had a major engine break down, a near sinking experience and a serious foot injury which got me stuck along the Pacific coast of Central and South America. In this Episode, I am anchored next to the mouth of River Cacique. A little rain shower seats my plans to Paddel up the river and I share with you what I usually do on rainy days. Baking some fresh buns, doing the dishes, editing videos or crafting some collected beach rope into pretty baskets. Once the rain clears, I jump into my Kajak to explore the Cacique river. My plan is to paddle upstream for 2-3 hours with the rising tide, have some lunch up the river and then float back downstream. A not unexpected but still surprising encounter makes me turn around half way through 😂. But still, it was a great little adventure and a great calm anchorage to hang out in. Enjoy and Ahoy, Nike & Karl

Keywords: Sailing Northern Europe, Sailing North Atlantic, Sailing the English Channel, Sailing through Alderney Race, Electrical failure on sailboat, near collision at sea, strong current. In the previous episode we had to turn back due to an electrical failure in this episode Anders will explain what happened. We could finally cast the lines and start our passage towards Brest but in Alderney Race we almost collided with something unexpected. In the end of the video we also tell you a little about our back story why we decided to go sailing and what our real goal are. We are a middle aged couple that has left our hectic business lives to go sailing with our boat Fridá af Wisby and our cat Litza. The sailing in our home water the Baltic Sea is part of our preparation to sail to the Mediterranean Sea. Anders has been at the sea most of his life and sailed for the Swedish national dingy sailing team as a young man. Gitte has also grown up with boat and spent every summer sailing with her father as a teenager but made a pause of about 15 years without sailing as an adult, had just begun to pick-up the interest before she meet Anders a 4 years ago. Onboard we also have our cat Litza a 3 year old Devon Rex we call her the cattain because cats always decide over their humans. Litza is a Devon Rex cat and she is the real cattain aboard. Fridá af Wisby is a Wauquiez 47 pilot saloon that we Gitte and Anders bought in UK in 2019 and that we have sailed to Gotland and in season 1 2020 we sail in the Baltic Sea.

DON'T CLICK HERE: https://bit.ly/3dI3hBn Bringing Yabá from wreck to dreamy! Episode 30 In this episode, our incredible team of shipwrights shows us how to build a boat using a hose. www.sailingyaba.com ༄ We are Ben and MP! Recently we decided to purchase a two-masted 70ft wooden schooner in Brazil. The fun detail about our story is that the boat we bought was sinking and relying on many bilge pumps to survive so we had to lift it onto the dry to start a full refit. Once the boat was lifted (for the first time in her life) we realized that the works needed were a lot more than expected. Between bailing or accepting the challenge, we decided to go for the second option. Watch us as we bring Yabá back to life with the help of an amazing team of traditional shipwrights, sharing every phase of the process, overcoming the highs and lows and having fun along the way. This is what Boat yard nightmares are made of... Fixing the Keel. https://www.sailingnandji.com In this episode, Nandji brings on a potential worst nightmare... Sitting too long on the hard stand, the lead/steel weight of the keel has oxidised, causing rust and the fibreglass to delaminate. How far down the rabbit hole do we travel... If you are going to do a job right, you do it right the first time. After juggling any thoughts and short cuts in my mind, I do what I know should do and cut it all off (half the keel) and ay up new fibreglass. A job I do not want to repeat any time soon. We have since cruised through New Caledonia, Vanuatu, the Solomon islands, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and then onto the boat yard in Malaysia to prepare for the years to come. With a new engine, we continued onto Thailand, then back down into Indonesia and specifically West Sumatra to live the island life and chase the surf. With our Sailing plans changing, we returned to Thailand to wait for the weather and begin our journey to the northern route of the Indian Ocean to Sri Lanka before heading south across the Indian Ocean once cyclone season has finished and the trade winds begin! We were on our shake down sail when the mooring we were on failed and our home ended up on the reef... We saved the old girl and got her back to the boat yard for repairs to continue on our adventure! Ready to sail across the Indian Ocean, we were only days away from leaving when the pandemic begun closing countries around us... We are stuck for now, but enjoying the slower pace as we have just had our first baby, born in Malaysia! (Technically it's a couple inches shy of being a 50 foot sailboat) Woohoo! Lots to learn on this boat, but man was it fun :-D Getting to this point has been MONTHS of hard work. So much blood, sweat, and tears have been poured into getting this boat back on the water. We wanted today to be perfect, and it really was. We hummed along at 6kts with just the main out, and it was magic. Turning off the engine and feeling the boat lean into the wind...amazing. Thank you all for your support along the way. We have a lot to learn and made many mistakes on this project - and many even on this first sail! But that's ok and honestly the way we like it. Should we have done the lines different, taken off rings, buttoned up the enclosure better, etc. Sure. But no regrets on today - absolutely amazing! Subtitles are taking an exceptionally long time to automatically populate lately. This video is no different. So we've had to resort to paying a company to do it since the time to manually type them is outrageous. Not sponsored - but what do you think? We have finally dismantled enough of the cabins to start grinding the bulkheads. This is by far the worst job we have done on a boat. The whole inside of the boat gets covered in fiberglass dust, as we take out kilos of fiberglass and rotten plywood. Hence the extreme sarcasm in the title! This series will show never before seen footage of how we straightened and strengthened a 45ft production catamaran, in order to be able to complete a circumnavigation. Located in Linton bay, in Panama, we meet our fair share of challenges trying to rebuild this boat from the bulkheads up... ** Become a Patron, and get your NAME written on our Catamaran!! https://www.patreon.com/mjsailing ** Now that we have bonded the bridge deck together, it's time to glass all 50 feet of the inside seam. There's multiple steps involved, including making sure all parts of the seam which did not have our methacrylate bonding agent push through, get a bit of thickened resin pushed inside. From there we cove any open spaces in the flange and wait for that to get tacky before we can add our fiberglass. The seam receives two layers of 1208 fiberglass, with a bottom layer of 150 mm, and another layer of 100 mm covering it. To get this seam as smooth as possible, it receives a good coating of resin, and then has all air bubbles rolled out with a fin/metal roller. The last step is to apply Peel Ply cloth, which leaves for a fare/smooth surface, and also helps to push out the last of the air bubbles. The next day, once all of this has cured, the two of us tackle the task of lifting the 38 ft hull sides up in the air. We do this so we have a better opportunity to level the hull before it receives 5 strips of unidriectional fiberglass from one hull to the other. (This prepares the areas for bulkheads ) Once in place, it will be nearly impossible to make adjustments to the hull. We hope you enjoy! Much love from Annapolis! We're Alejo and Andrea, a Colombian / American couple in love with adventuring and exploring the ocean. We previously lived in a converted travel trailer as we explored the best kitesurfing spots of North America, and now we're living in our off-grid sailboat while managing our online business as digital nomads. We're now sailing the Caribbean as we explore the best of this blue planet by kiteboarding, free diving, scuba diving, and fishing. ⛵ Our goal here is to inspire you to chase after your own dreams! We hope to create a community of like-minded, positive individuals who will grow to love and support one another on their own journeys.
We Spend LOTS OF MONEY and EFFORT to keep the MOST BASIC THINGS operable on our boat. It's easy to forget that FUN and ATHLETIC things are every bit worth the investment too. On land, we had bikes, we went snowboarding, we went to the gym, we ran, we played sports in the yard. Most of those things are completely gone now and all are tough to do regularly. We swim frequently, but we don't enjoy any "adrenaline" or highly athletic sports anymore. And we've realized how much we miss that kind of escape. If only there was a sport we could do FROM THE STERN, so one parent could be on the boat with Rivers and NOT require assistance via dinghy or anything else. Hmmmm....what could that be? Enjoy!! Nordhavn 40 Migrator 1 360 Trawler Spin Tour is not really a video, it is a virtual tour. Please read on. If you see the message "360 video playback is not supported on this browser. Please use the YouTube app.", download the YouTube app and watch the video in the app. We are posting #TrawlerSpins on our YouTube channel to make it easier for you to view these 360 images. Please try it out, we think this is a great method to give you, the viewer, control over what you see. JMYS has been using 360 images on our listings for the last couple of years and discovered this process which allows us to connect all of the 360 images together to provide a more cohesive tour and plays like a short movie. Each area completes a 360 rotation for a short time before automatically going to the next location. You can watch it as a video, or pause the screen to take control of the image look all around. Play around and you’ll see that these 360’s allow you to look in every direction – left, right, above, below – as if you are actually aboard. You can look closer and zero in on the details of interest and easily skip to the next location. Please think of this as a photo album that is not a collection of one directional images that you have to click on one at a time. This process is easier, faster and a more efficient way for you to spend your time versus the old method of clicking on 360 photos one at a time and waiting for them to load. There is background music instead of voice overs so that you can jump around without missing anything. Hopefully you’ll agree this is a cool new way for you to view our listings and gives you the ability to stop and look around, or to let it flow seamlessly room to room. Don’t worry, we will continue to do our industry leading, narrated Talk Through videos. This is an additional promotional approach we want to share, thanks for giving this a spin!

In this episode of Sailing A B Sea, what we thought was going to be a quick trip to the next bay over, turned into a search for the Goldilocks anchorage. We take many factors into consideration when deciding where to drop our anchor for the night and in this episode it takes us a long time to find the Goldilocks anchorage. Its funny how the world has changed.. One minute you've wrote the most amazing thing.. then its lost in space and you have to start all over again..🤦♀️ah life as we know it So... etch a sketch and start all over again, You point the nose in the direction you intend to go and life will follow you. ⛵ A new world seems so fitting as we enter or exit the "New Norm".. Anyway you look at it, life is awesome and you need to head to the second star to the left and straight on till morning.🌠 I hope you all enjoying this New World... We sure are, the adventure has only just begun!💙🧡 What an experience to visit @frindwinery that location is beautiful, staff amazing and wine was delicious...we might be members now🤷♀️ 🎶Music🎶 Malibu Moonshine by Proxi Mal Closer Levels by Ben Fox
