Why so many through hulls? Each through hull is a potential leak point that could sink the boat, so reducing the number of through hulls also reduces your risk of sinking. The goal is to remove all of the through hulls, fiberglass over the holes to seal them up, and get the boat ready to splash so that it can be towed up to Baltimore where work can proceed at a much faster pace. You need to make a form for the extension, then make a mold from that form, then make the part in that mold, then attach the part to your transom. On Windpuff, we are adding 4 extra feet to the back of the boat for various reasons, and this is all the work so far to make the idea transform into reality. This bridge was a key division between The Patapsco River and The Chesapeake Bay, visually marking the exit of Baltimore as they began their adventures.
