Our final day in French Polynesia was one to remember. 🌴 We set out on a long hike through the jungle to some incredible waterfalls, soaking up every last bit of this amazing place before it was time to go. Island hopping around Taha’a in French Polynesia turned into one of our wildest days yet. After four unforgettable nights in Bora Bora, it was finally time to set sail. Saying goodbye to one of the most beautiful places on earth is never easy, but the adventure wasn’t over yet. We sail to the west side of Bora Bora and pick up a mooring in one of the most beautiful spots in the lagoon, surrounded by shallow coral heads and crystal-clear water. After dropping the hook, we jump in the dinghy and head out to the reef where we snorkel with dozens of blacktip reef sharks — swimming right alongside us and coming unbelievably close. It’s an incredible experience and way less intimidating than you might think. Today we sail into one of the most iconic places in the entire BVI — White Bay on Jost Van Dyke, home of the world-famous Soggy Dollar Bar! Today we had an absolutely perfect four-hour downwind sail from Anegada to Jost Van Dyke here in the beautiful British Virgin Islands. Conditions couldn’t have been better — blue water, steady breeze, and a happy crew enjoying every mile. Once we arrived at Jost Van Dyke, we headed straight for the famous Bubbly Pool, one of the coolest natural features in the BVI. It’s always fun watching the surge roll in and turn the whole spot into a natural jacuzzi! After exploring, we set sail again for a short hop over to Cane Garden Bay on Tortola. It’s one of my favorite anchorages in the islands — great beach, great food, and great company. We grabbed dinner, relaxed on the sand, and of course the ladies looked fantastic enjoying the sunshine and crystal-clear water. Thanks for joining us on another sailing adventure! Today we set sail from Virgin Gorda to the unique and beautiful island of Anegada — and it ended up being one of our fastest and most fun sails of the entire BVI trip. With perfect wind, flat seas, and the crew looking amazing on the bow, we made the crossing in record time. Anegada is totally different from the rest of the Virgin Islands. Instead of mountains, it’s flat, sandy, and surrounded by shallow turquoise water. After picking up a mooring, we rented Mokes and motorcycles and explored every corner of the island before ending up at Cow Wreck Beach for a perfect beach day. The water was stunning, the vibes were relaxed, and (as always) the ladies looked fantastic in their bikinis. Back on the boat, we caught an epic sunset over the horizon before heading ashore to Potter’s by the Sea for one of their famous Anegada lobster dinners. Start your day at Cooper Island, sail to one of the most iconic spots in the entire Caribbean, and wrap things up with a night you won’t forget. This was one of those PERFECT days in the BVI. We left Cooper Island early and made the short sail over to The Baths on Virgin Gorda, easily one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Crystal-clear aqua water, massive granite boulders, and the famous boulder-hike trail made for an incredible morning. The ladies rocked their tiny bikinis and we explored the caves, tunnels, and pools for a couple of hours. From there, we hoisted the sails and cruised north to Gorda Sound, stopping at the legendary Bitter End Yacht Club for lunch. After soaking up the views, we wrapped the day with dinner at Saba Rock, one of the coolest little island resorts in the BVI. Day 2 sailing through the British Virgin Islands and it was absolutely perfect. This morning we left Norman Island and sailed over to The Indians, one of the most breathtaking snorkel sites in the entire BVI. The water was crystal clear, the coral was vibrant, and the ladies looked amazing exploring the reef and swimming with schools of tropical fish. After snorkeling, we raised the sails and the boat took off — hitting 9 knots on a gorgeous beam reach up to Cooper Island. Once we picked up a mooring ball, we headed ashore to the famous Rum Bar, grabbed a few drinks, and then met up with some of our Sailing Doodles viewers for a fun evening and a great dinner on the island. This is what sailing in the BVI is all about — adventure, clear water, good wind, and good people. I’m sailing the boat down the East Coast for the final time before hauling her out of the water and storing her on land while the Nauti Dogs prize competition finishes up! In this episode I make the run from Atlantic City to Cape May, then across the Delaware Bay and up the Chesapeake to Annapolis, and finally into Solomons, Maryland, where I haul the boat out of the water for storage. It’s a beautiful stretch of coastline with changing conditions, busy shipping lanes, calm anchorages, and some great solo sailing moments with the dogs.
