Dopo mesi di lontananza dalla famiglia, burocrazia, tamponi prima di partire per assicurarmi di essere negativa, mascherina e distanziamento sociale, sono riuscita a tornare a casa. Ho trascorso qualche giorno in cittá e poi sono andata al mare, dove ho lavorato, studiato e vissuto in barca. Per me la vita a bordo, anche se meno comoda di quella in casa, é bellissima e mi permette di coniugare due aspetti della mia personalitá: produttivitâ ed amore per il mare. Nach dem perfekten Segeltag zuvor auf dem Weg nach Assens, an dem wir endlich mal mehr gesegelt sind als ursprünglich geplant, sollte es nun weiter gehen in die dänische Südsee. Auf dem Weg nach Avernakø zeigte sich der kleine Belt noch einmal von seiner besten Seite und so segelten wir bei tollem Spätsommerwetter nach Süden. Zwischen Lyø und Avernakø trafen wir denn auf den schönen (lila!) Traditionssegler Twister, der ein tolles Fotomotiv abgab. Auf Avernakø angekommen machten wir uns auf dem Weg zum Strand um den tollen Schlag bei einem dänischen Bier zu feiern und ein paar Hühnergötter zu sammeln. Wir sind beinahe ohne Segelerfahrung auf diese Reise aufgebrochen. Das erste mal ablegen mit der Eira, war am Tag, an dem die Reise begonnen hat. Bislang haben wir die Biskaya überquert, schwere Situationen in Spanien und Portugal gemeistert, den Atlantik in 22 Tagen überquert und wir haben es geschafft unseren Motor auf Guadeloupe zu reparieren. Jetzt geht unser Weg weiter richtung Westen. Die nächsten 2 1/2 Jahre werden wir nutzen um den Pazifik zu durchqueren, den indonesischen Raum zu erkunden und letztendlich nach der Umrundung des Kap der guten Hoffnungen wieder Fuß auf europäisches Land zu setzen. It's time to polish the boat and this year I have bought a new Makita 9237CB polishing machine on a sale. The process is : 1 - wash the surface with Renskib Gel Coat Cleaner R-110 2 - wet the surface with a water spray bottle 3 - apply Renskib Liquid Rubbing Compound R-120 with a sponge 4 - polish the surface with a lambswool polishing disc 5 - wipe the surface with a microfiber cloth

Alors que nous avions préparé notre petit week-end tranquille (petite nav' vers Honfleur le Jeudi, puis Deauville le vendredi pour un retour au Havre le Samedi ) Voila que le Mercredi soir en arrivant au port principale, après l'éclusage, on fait la rencontre d'une super équipe de la Marina Deauville Club. Après une super soirée ils arrivent à nous convaincre de naviguer avec eux le lendemain matin pour aller vers Ouistreham mais pour ne pas rater l'ouverture de l'écluse il faut partir à 7h du mat. Le lendemain après un réveille difficile nous somme prêt et malgré les conditions météo on tente une sortie mais la hauteur des vagues nous font faire demi tour. Nous passons la journée au Havre ,c'est l'anniversaire de Lola et elle sera gâter par l'équipe de la Marina Deauville Club. Vendredi matin, après une super nuit sans réveille (enfin juste réveillé par les enfants) nous partons tous pour Dives sur mer. Naviguer avec du monde c'est vraiment bien et même si on arrive en dernier au port de Dives , nous avons un accueil terrible. On passe l'après midi à la plage de Cabourg et une super soirée sur les pontons du port de Dives. Le Samedi retour au Havre tranquille après avoir quitté nos nouveaux compagnons. Nous voulons encore une fois les remercier car on a passé un super moment à leurs cotés .

I share some of my favorite meals that I cook while dinghy cruising. I want others to eat well when they cruise! I said I'd talk about left overs in the video but didn't. There is almost always food left over if cooking just for yourself. I like to reheat leftovers in the morning and put them in a nice food thermos I recently purchased. Hey Folks, We leave Vero Beach after an extended three-week stay and head to what will be quickly become one of our favorite anchorages on the Florida Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) so far. We're Esther and Michael, an American couple with writing and photography backgrounds. In 2017, we sold our home in Atlanta and moved aboard a 1994 Island Packet 35 named Hope that needed some love (and boat work!) after sitting in the sun for three years. As we learn how to become better sailors, we’re especially interested in living small to gain abundance—cultivating sustainable living habits and having more time for nature and art! And we're learning about ways to 'live small' by reducing our waste footprint on and off the boat!
