Alinghi wins the GC32 Lagos Cup 1 after a dominant final day in strong breeze and dramatic conditions. With the wind gusting close to 25 knots and sometimes arriving with little warning, Red Bull Sailing Team was caught out and nosedived alarmingly, resulting in a capsize.

We woke up to some very nasty weather in the mooring field off of Saba in the Caribbean. The weather didn't allow us to go to shore, so we did boat chores and passage preparations instead for our upcoming sail to Puerto Rico. The next day, we got the chance to hike Mt. Scenery, the highest point in all of the Netherlands. The trails and views were spectacular, but we only had one day to explore, as we had a flight scheduled out of Puerto Rico and had to keep on moving. Want to help support our video productions? The weather may not have delivered but make no mistake, for many of the 7,000 crew that headed out for the 90th anniversary of the Island Sailing Club's Round the Island Race this was a big day out. It’s been two years since we’ve seen a fleet of this size and for many it was their first chance to race since the global pandemic began. In fact, this year’s race around the Isle of Wight is believed to have been the biggest mass participation event in the UK since the first lockdown last year. Whatever the reason for taking part, the forecast for overcast skies and light winds were not enough to put off 1,200 teams to take part in one of the biggest races in the world. We have found the ONLY place in the Caribbean you can do THIS, something a little off the beaten path of normal. But first we go on the BEATEN path for some hiking to Annaly Tidal Pools. After a long hike, dropping into the cool pool is so refreshing. The views of the pools are quite stunning. The next day our friends, Allie and John, pick us up and take us to a VERY unique spot for brunch. This is the only place we have ever seen like this in the caribbean, well actually anywhere as a matter of fact. We stop at a gas station to fill up the truck and the next thing you know, we are told THIS is where we are getting brunch. Gas Station Gourmet food, yep you heard it here folks. Ziggy’s, a gas station located on the east side of St. Croix. After we fill up the truck with gas, we will up our bellies with some top notch delicious food. Can’t remember the last time we had brunch, much less a very tasty one. After brunch we head down south to a reef we have been eyeing from our friends house. Hoping to burn off the calories gained from brunch and to find some lobster. When your watermaker breaks unexpectedly on your sailing catamaran and you don't have a spare on board to fix it, things get messy pretty quickly on a boat! We got trapped on board with a few gallons of water for 6 days, and had no easy way to fill up the tanks. So we set upon our adventure to find the part we needed for repairs. Just when the pecking order seemed to be firming up at the 44Cup Marstrand, so today’s final race off the picture postcard Swedish island, turned the results on their head, yet again. Hugues Lepic’s Aleph Racing and Nico Poons’ Charisma were looking reasonably comfortable in the two top spots overall until the final race, in which they finished last and second last respectively. As a result huge leaderboard compression has occurred with a tie at the top, the top four boats separated by two points and the top seven by just nine with potentially 24 points on the board tomorrow.

This may have been our FAVORITE stop in the Exumas! Lee Stocking Island has so much to offer, and we loved spending some time here, exploring underwater and on land.
