While sailing to Indonesia we hit a log at 8kts that damages our dagger board then get entangled in a fishing net. We encounter strange wooden towers in the middle of the sea. What a disaster...I wanted too much. Instead of concentrating on one stringer at a time I wanted to tab the entire forward area underneath the galley to glass to the hull at the same time. The temperature was way too high in order to be quick enough to do so. Solution: sanding. What joy. A few days later when the temperature was in limits I did as I should from the beginning: one stringer at a time. The result: perfect. 9 days. And today Showgirl had her exam. I’ve spent months thinking about this inspection. Every modification, every piece of safety equipment, every stupid little detail that had me wondering, “Is this actually according to the rules?” Today there was nowhere left to hide. 😂 They came onboard, went through the list, checked the boat, checked the equipment, checked things I’ve probably checked myself 700 times by now... And long story short: WE PASSED. ✅ I don't think I realised how much space this inspection was taking up in my head until it was over. After a couple months to ourselves we're back! Everyone is okay, no NDA's signed, just a bit of time to recoup after a tough couple years and to prepare ourselves and our sailing home for our biggest adventure yet! In this episode SV Liger takes to the seas again. Launching a boat is always a big task, but being in an experienced shipyard like Peake Yacht Services makes it easier. It was an incredibly busy but emotional day, as it marks the last time our catamaran will ever visit the shores of Trinidad. From the boat yard to the Caribbean Sea was a whirlwind, so share not only in the launch, but also in our first day on the water. It was Lukasz's first experience sailing the open ocean on SV Liger, and to say he enjoyed it was an understatement! Welcome back on board! 🌊⛵️ In our last episode, we explored Fakarava and were absolutely blown away by its underwater world and the famous Wall of Sharks. 🦈🤿 This time, we’re taking you along for three weeks of family time — of course, together with our buddy boats. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦⛵️⛵️ We sail to Toau, a small and still relatively untouched atoll. 🏝️ We encounter manta rays once again, right in front of the pass. 🪽🌊 After navigating a passage, we discover an open window and have to clean the entire port side of the boat. 🪟🧽😂 We continue on to Apataki for one night, hoping to go snorkeling — but after hearing about tiger sharks in the area, we decide to skip it. 🦈😳 From there, we set sail overnight to Rangiroa. 🌙⛵️ We enjoy some cold drinks at the famous Tiputa Pass while watching dolphins jumping through the water. 🍹🐬☀️ We go diving once again and explore the incredible underwater world. 🤿 Then we sit tight and wait for a little more wind before, after a lot of back and forth, finally deciding to head towards Tahiti. 💨⛵️🇵🇫 And we experience our very first man-overboard situation with Samuel — thankfully, in a safe environment where everything turned out well. 😱🛟❤️ Follow along, leave us a like 👍, and enjoy our family world journey with us as we explore this beautiful world together! 🌎❤️⛵️

The history of the Abbey, begins in 1372, with the consecration of a Mary chapel paid for by Elisabeth von Kuenring. In 1410 Augustinian Canons were brought to Dürnstein from Wittgua in Bohemia, and the expanded building complex was established as a monastery. There are no traditional fuel docks on the island, so we head ashore and visit a few marinas hoping to find someone who can help us fill up. After striking out everywhere we try, we eventually give up on the fuel search and head back to the boat. From there, things get a whole lot better. We raise anchor in Haad Rin, home of Koh Phangan’s famous Full Moon Party, and set sail for another bay just up the coast. What follows is an absolutely beautiful sail and an incredible new anchorage. Sometimes cruising doesn’t go according to plan—but being stuck somewhere like Koh Phangan isn’t exactly the worst problem to have! Piraten bedienten sich ebenfalls immer wieder und massakrierten die Bevölkerung. Während des zweiten Weltkrieges war die Insel Verbannungsort für politische Gegner, für Kriminelle und für Deportierte. Heute ist sie ein Traumziel für Touristen und Taucher, weil das Wasser sehr klar ist und sich römische Ruinen sowie Wracks in geringer Tauchtiefe finden.

Direction le large au départ de Canet-en-Roussillon, avec jusqu’à 18 nœuds de vent et de très belles conditions pour cette première sortie après les travaux. Pas de panne, pas de mauvaise surprise : l’électronique fonctionne, les batteries chargent correctement et Joy retrouve enfin la mer.
