Could this be our next boat? After months of searching and inspecting vessels around Australia, we've flown across the country to Western Australia to investigate one of the most intriguing boats we've come across so far. Four years ago we traded life on land for a life at sea — moving aboard our sailboat full time when our daughter Charlie was just 12 months old. Since then our little family has sailed thousands of miles, explored remote islands and incredible anchorages, and made our boat our home. But now we're seriously asking: what comes next? Over the past few months we've been travelling to Tasmania, Brisbane and the Gold Coast, inspecting all sorts of vessels in search of the one that could take us into the next chapter of our lives. We lock up our floating home, fly across Australia with Charlie in tow on her longest flight yet, and make a proper family adventure out of the trip. We explore the historic port city of Fremantle, visit the famous Fremantle Prison, wander through the harbour precinct, and watch a massive cruise ship perform a spectacular harbour manoeuvre. This year we're celebrating Easter aboard our sailboat in Gladstone, Australia, where the city comes alive with the Gladstone Harbour Festival, Easter Fair, markets, family activities, and the famous Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race. After an incredible trip to Tasmania, it is finally time to head home. But this trip home came with a lot more uncertainty than usual. Before leaving Tasmania, we made an offer on the Fishing Vessel, Iron Maiden, a 65ft steel aft wheelhouse vessel that has quickly become one of the most talked-about boats in our search for our next adventure vessel. It's been three days and we have not heard back from the broker. As we travel back across Australia, we had no idea whether our offer would be accepted, rejected, or countered.
