This is part 1 of our 12-day transatlantic cruise onboard Anthem of the Seas in October 2022. This was our first cruise on a Quantum class ship so we were keen to see how she compared to all the other classes of Royal Caribbean ships we have sailed in the past. This covers part of our journey to Southampton and our first day on board the ship. We wake early to set sail from La Fontaine Island and down to Swift Bay. Unfortunately Wendy has a dental issue and we have a huge change of plans and decide to head to Broome to seek medical attention. Three days and two nights later we arrive in Broome. What a difference a day makes! After getting Wendy checked out at the hospital and dentist we are given the all clear and head back into the Kimberley. We stop at the beautiful Silica Beach on Hidden Island and take a stroll ashore. The sand is like snow and squeaks when you walk on it! Thanks for watching. 5 strings 5 weeks 5 minutes On the north shores of Wadsworth sits the Wigwam. A place dear to my heart. As babies this was where my brother and I were introduced to the good people of Gilmour and Gunter 55 years ago. West by north west of the Wigwam there are three mystical ravines that come together named by Joe Simon as the Khyber Pass. This was my elders hunting grounds for years before building a new cottage on Cashel lake. My Mom (AKA Jan) filmed the footage in the video in an about 1967, We thought it would somewhat of a spiritual journey retracing her footsteps all these years later... and it was. Before now the last time I stood at the Wigwam I was with my Brother Jess. my brother and I were teenagers. We walked from Gilmour through the woods to the Khyber Pass and then to the Wigwam. We just sat looking out across the lake. A memory for a life time, so it will be. This song has come from nowhere to find me. I wrote the poem years ago.... my brother loved it Not possible without these people Thank you so much James Atwell for producing, engineering, and piano collaboration. Thank you so much Faith Thibault for lending your beautiful voice and helping with lyrical framing, You know how to make me leave the studio....wink wink. Lol Thank you so much Doris for all yor artistic camera work for the video and being beside me on this journey. Your the best friend a friend could be Thanks for watching Ed

We are a middle aged couple that has left our hectic business lives to go sailing with our boat Fridá af Wisby and our cat Litza. Our goal is not to go to a specific place but to reach a state of mind where we can really enjoy life. Follow our boat on Noforeignland https://www.noforeignland.com/boat/fridaafwisby/journey?sid=6095395836919808&tc=1669758865151 Anders has been at the sea most of his life and sailed for the Swedish national dingy sailing team as a young man. Gitte has also grown up with boats and spent every summer sailing with her father as a teenager but made a pause of about 15 years without sailing as an adult, had just begun to pick-up the interest before she meet Anders in 2017. Onboard we also have our cat Litza a 4 year old Devon Rex we call her the cattain because cats always decide over their humans. Fridá af Wisby is a Wauquiez 47 pilot saloon that we Gitte and Anders bought in UK in 2019 and that we have sailed to Gotland and in season 1 2020 we sail in the Baltic Sea. During season 2 We sailded south to Dieppe Normandy France. After a winter in France in Season 3 we started to sail the Atlantic coast of Europe to Xufre in Spain where we lifted the boat over the summer while we where back in Gotland to work at our hostel we got there. Season 4 got a short sailing season where we only sailed to Lagos on the Algarve coast of Portugal where we hauled out once again this time to go throug a long list of boatwork and to build a solar arch to make the boat more self-suficient with electricity. After 6 months in Lagos we kicked-off season 5 with real bluewater sailing first to the northern Atlantic island Porto Santo and Madeira and then further out to the Azores that lays in the middle of the Atlantic ocean before turning back towards the mainland and south coast of Portugal again.
Bringing Yabá from wreck to dreamy! Episode 108 In this episode of our boat restoration, the rain continues to hold us back to finish installing our pilothouse windows, so we move on to the interior. To explain better all the things we are building now inside the boat, we show our 3D project images for the first time, together with the updated interior layout, so you can really see how we hope Yabá will look when she's ready. We are Ben and MP! Recently we decided to purchase a two-masted wooden schooner in Brazil. The fun detail about our story is that the boat we bought was sinking and relying on many bilge pumps to survive so we had to lift it onto the dry to start a full refit. Once the boat was lifted (for the first time in her life) we realized that the work needed was much more than expected. Between bailing or accepting the challenge, we decided to go for the second option. Watch us as we bring Yabá back to life with the help of an amazing team of traditional shipwrights, sharing every phase of the process, overcoming the highs and lows and having fun along the way. We love to share our knowledge and experiences with you! We have all types of videos from fixing repairs, to sail trim, to relaxing videos to asmr long form sailing content. Come sail away with us every Sunday Morning. Kate and Curtis both learn how to sail when they were young. Kate was a junior sailor in Opti's and 420's while Curtis went cruising in the Great Lakes with his family. We met while sailing in a Melges 24 regatta and have been sailing together ever since. The first time we went cruising together as a couple was on a friends borrowed J Boats J 105 in the North Channel of Lake Huron and Canada (part of the Great Loop). Those few weeks, and watching other channels like Gone With the Wynns, Sailing Uma, Project Atticus, Delos, Nahoa, and Sailing La Vagabonde, convinced us that the sailing life was for us. We bought our boat, a J Boats J/46, in 2019 after spending years searching for the perfect bluewater sailboat to sail around the world. We were interested in a catamaran and monohulls, but loved the performance cruising design of the J(it is faster than most cruising catamarans). We spent six months refitting her in Rhode Island, before selling our house and cars, quitting our jobs, and leaving land life for good to become digital nomads, with the goal of sailing around the world via Cape Horn. We have since navigated over 12,000 miles together, through storms, big waves, pandemics, and lockdowns. We sailed to Maine, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Grenada, Sint Maarten, the Azores, Canary Islands, and Brazil, on our way south to Uruguay, Argentina, and Chile to sail around Cape Horn and into the Patagonia fjords. We never intended to become influencers or start a new YouTube sailing channel, but now it is what we do. We love sharing our experience and adventures with you. We have learned to fly the drone and edit videos, trying to produce relaxing and listenable videos for you to sail away and watch at home while having coffee on Sunday mornings. We hope we can inspire you to achieve your life goals and cross off those bucket list items also!

Raw and remote. That pretty much sums up the Tuamotu archipelago. It’s easily one of our top 5 sailing destinations in the world. Pristine waters, abundant marine life, and just outside of the hurricane zone. Sailing here on our own boat was a dream (and one we hope to repeat). But until then, we are doing the next best thing. Sailing with friends! But Fakarava is way out here, and it's a coral atoll. Meaning there isn't much in the form of supplies, and fertile soil for growing food is minimal. In other words, we want to be out in the world living and exploring for as long as possible. Both in terms of not having to worry about our resources or our habitat disappearing. It's practical, not political. This new HH44 is the continuation of that conversation and desire. This is not the ultimate, all-time perfect eco boat or zero-footprint anything. Not even close. It’s the best option that we could find working with viable, available solutions. It’s the type of innovation we want to support, encourage, and see way more of. This is a brand-new boat designed from the ground up with solar, hydrogeneration, and electric motoring in mind. Add in our rain capture system and we have the ability to be off the grid and explore incredibly remote and uninhabited areas for months and months at a time. ____________ WE’RE JASON AND NIKKI WYNN. A couple of modern-day documentarians, perpetual travelers, and seekers of tall tales. We’ve been chasing our curiosity around the world on wheels and keels since 2011. Why? Because curiosity is the key to unlocking life. It pushes us outside our comfort zone, softens our assumptions, and helps us embrace the great unknown. The more we let our curiosity lead the way, the more we discover about ourselves and the world around us. Our journey is ever-evolving but the mission remains the same: #CultivateCuriosity Timestamps if you like to Jump Around: 00:00 A Town In the Middle of the Ocean 01:06 How Tiny Islands Receive Supplies 03:20 The Grocery Store on a Remote Island 05:45 Leaving the "big city" of Rotoava 07:23 Sails Up! In this we do a lot of sailing, as we head north up the coast of Costa Rica, but we forget our cruising permit (Zarpe) in Golfito where we checked in! Luckily, SV Delos weren't far behind us, to save us the long sail back to collect it!! We then go exploring a cool river that is meant to have crocodiles up it. Good times! Follow @svdelos to watch their adventures! SV Parlay is a hurricane damaged Lagoon 450 catamaran, which Colin rebuilt with friends and has started sailing around the world. They found bulkhead damage on their catamaran in Panama, so have fixed her up, and are almost ready to cross the Pacific Ocean!! Welcome aboard our sailing around the world adventure with our family of 3. In this episode we are exploring the Graciosa Island and sailing to Lanzarote into the Canary Island with our Lagoon 450S hybrid. We also talk about our anchor buoy the Grippy ABR. ########################################## We are a family of 3, Lithuanian and French couple currently living in Dubai UAE with our daughter born in 2020, with the dream of circumnavigating the globe with a catamaran sailing boat. In 2018 until we decided to focus on our project sailing TELLUS (Latin word meaning “Earth”). We had the chance to visit and live in many beautiful countries including China, Hongkong, Thailand, Romania, Lithuania and France with our previous jobs, that made us realize how fast the world is changing and how fast the life is going and there is no “later” than “now” for the project we have in mind. In early 2019 we took a one-week sailing courses that opened our eyes of new ways of travelling and changed our life style. In June 2020, we decided to sell everything we own, house, car and lot of stuff that we do not need anymore so that we can buy a sailboat and go for an undetermined voyage around the globe. We bought a catamaran Lagoon 450s delivered in France in July 2021. We invite you to share with us our adventures of learning, exploring and making our project come to life. Through our videos we hope to inspire to explore, seek alternative options of living and to spread ocean awareness.
Successful rescue operation for Tapio Lehtinen in the Southern Indian Ocean. Kirsten Neuschäfer first to reach his position, and take him to safety aboard Minnehaha before transferring him onto the Bulk Carrier M.V. Darya Gayatri. GGR entrant Kirsten Neuschäfer (ZAF) was first to reach Tapio’s position this morning at 0510 UTC. The South African sailor whisked GGR Veteran and Finnish sailing legend, Tapio Lehtinen, from his liferaft where he had been since Friday 0700 UTC. Three boats had been diverted yesterday to assist GGR entrant Tapio Lehtinen after he activated his Emergency Position-Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) at 0654. He then activated his Liferaft Personal Locator Beacon at 0854 UTC following the sinking of his yacht Asteria..

This is an English version (with a voice over) of a video I made 3 months ago about how we got trapped at sea, off-shore, on our sailboat with the storm of August 18 in Corsica. We had to face winds of incredible violence (225km / h) at around 20 Nautical ( just under 40km) off Cargèse on a 12.5m sailboat. I sincerely share our experience, what we have experienced, the decisions taken, the context, the mistakes,... Let this be clear, I do not pose as a lesson giver, nor even as a giver of advice. My goal here is to relate the facts and share this experience, with some images. Unfortunately, we will be forced to retract the camera as soon as the 100 knot gust passes for the first time, and we will take it out an hour later when the conditions drop back down to between 50 and 70 knots. When I recorded that video, it was 3 days after the event. Since the french version was seen by +300 000 people with thousands comments and hundreds of questions. Another video is answering to the common questions. Constructive comments are welcome!

This week on Sailing Bye Felicia, Matt and Lisa sail from Great Sale Cay, to Fox town, as they slowly make their way across the north Bahamas to The Abacos islands. Great sale cay proved to be a sturdy Anchorage, and the crew had amazing conditions as they spent all day sailing. Once anchored, Matt and Lisa work together to hoist the dinghy back into the water, using the boats rigging and the spinnaker halyard. Then, they reassembled the Yamaha 9.9 outboard engine to the dinghy, using the dinghy davits as a makeshift crane. Then, the crew dinghy in to Fox town, for provisions, and propane fuel. Only to find that the propane services on the island were unavailable for a few more days. So, the crew settled for an amazing seafood lunch and a couple of local beers. The following day Matt and Lisa feel inspired to catch their own seafood dinner. And what’s on the menu? The poisonous lionfish. Although very beautiful, the lion fish is highly invasive. And it’s not meant to be in this part of the world. How lionfish were introduced, is heavily debated. One theory, is the lionfish escaped from an aquarium that was damaged during a hurricane in the early 90s. Another theory is they were intentionally released. Regardless of how the lionfish arrived here, their populations are out of control, they have no natural predators, they eat large amounts of reef fish, it’s legal and encouraged to remove as many as possible from the environment. Removing spines from a lionfish is very dangerous, DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME. Captain Matt is a professional scuba diving instructor, and has been working around lionfish for 15 years. Once spines are removed from the lionfish, it’s treated just like any other fish, and simply filleted deep-fried and enjoyed. #episode37 #sailingbyefelicia #lionfish
Squat down and hold your breath! I don’t know if we have mentioned it before but Honu is a big girl for the ICW. We hit the max in both directions. Our mast is 63.5Ft and our keel is 6.5Ft. The majority of the fixed bridge heights are 65ft at high tide, the depth of the channel is 8-10ft at low tide, and the currents were the icing on the cake. So timing was everything on this trip. We knew this going into it. However, we had no idea how much stress it was going to be going under every single bridge and it never decreases regardless how many bridges you go under or their height. But this was our only choice. We are new to this boat and not prepared mentally or practically to go out into the ocean for an overnight passage. We know our limits. We know when we can stretch them and when we need to take a step back to do a bit more building before can we grow. These are all the things we are learning while living on our sailboat. Besides all the bridge stress the ICW has provided us with some beautiful memories so far. It is so super neat to see the prospective form the water way looking in instead of looking out. 🎶Music🎶 Yarin Primak - I Want You To Stay Sémø - Fractured Timeline Want Real-Time Updates?!
