Reefing is important! As the title says we can reef at any time, in any conditions at any point of sail. And so should you! In this video we talk you through our mainsail - how it is connected to our carbon rotating mast and why hoisting and reefing is not a problem. We can reef while sailing downwind. In 2021, we sailed our Balance 526 Catamaran from Cape Saint Francis, South Africa to the island of Grenada in the Caribbean on a 30 day passage. Since then, we've been sailing up the islands exploring beautiful anchorages and meeting great people. Over the next few years, we'll be sailing through the Bahamas, San Blas, Panama, and across the Pacific. With any luck, eventually we'll sail around the world. We're from Santa Cruz, California and grew up in and around the water. The motivation of this event (camp and regatta) was to challenge Swiss Sailors (not the top ones) on the sea - that's why the regatta is called "Swiss Sailing League Sea Challenger". We had top coaches - Chris Rast and Tomislav Basic, and Federica Salva. Weather conditions from soft to 24 knots -- all inclusive. At the camp, 12 J/70 in mission, and at the regatta 10. All will be repeated next year and extended.

A look back to the notorious 2008 RORC Red Funnel Easter Challenge from the library of http://www.boatson.tv Gale force winds on the Solent kept the fleet indoors for the most of the weekend but on the last day the racing was EPIC!!!! Niklas Zennstrom had his new RAN (TP52 the ex champion PATCHES) out in the heavy weather for the first time and here you will see her at warp speed charging through the fleet. Capsizes, broken masts, the action was full-on. Enjoy a classic gale force weekend in Cowes. (Ross Cameron, Geoff Waller, John Wyatt and the crew captured all the action on the water and from the Castle Air chopper.) Thank you to Trish Jenkins and Eddie Warden-Owen, Louay Habib, Bridgette Morgan, Peter Marsden, Darcy MacLean. No sailing for the first two days as a big pressure system rolled over the Solent and Cowes so the sailors had time for discussions and briefing and the Pubs. Day 3 saw a reduced fleet get out for two huge races in the blustery conditions. Broken masts, rollovers, roundups burst over the fleet and our chopper got all the action.

Bizde sail drive'a bakıldı, tutyalar kontrol edildi ve elektrik çıkışında salmaya farklı bir zarar olup olmadığı kontrol edildi. Örneğin biz de astara kadar zehirli boyanın attığını gözlemledik. Ancak daha büyük bir hasara rastlamadık. - Diğer kontroller ise biraz makyaja giriyor. Örneğin varsa güverte, minder, hatch, direk üzerinde is, sprayhood ve bimini ve hatta olası yelken ve halat yanıkları mutlaka gözden geçirilmeli. Biz bunların hepsini Trio Tech @TrioDenizOfficial ile yaptırdık. Bunun üzerine tam kapsamlı bir hasar raporu çıkartmış olduk. Bu vesileyle gözümüz hiç arkada kalmadı. İçimiz çok rahatladı. Hatta teknemizin gövdesinin ve motorunun sağlam olduğunu, temel olarak daha çok navigasyon ve elektronik aletlerimizin zarar gördüğünü tespit ettik. (Bin şükür 🙏🏻 hepsinin telafisi var) Aslında bu işlemleri hem herhangi bir hasar sonrasında, hem de tekneyi satın alırken dahi yaptırmanızı öneririz.
