dinghy, bikini, dancing, camera, boat life Enjoying some relaxation after 3 months of sailing and anchoring. Boat life has similarities to living in a home but also a number of differences. We need a better bow camera with a longer night IR range. Always afraid of a collision when sailing at night. When anchored we never sleep as well with concerns about dragging anchor or other strange but actually normal noises. Took a tour of our 430 square foot living area boat. That does not include a 50 square foot engine room. Thanks for viewing! A special thanks to our subscribers!!!!???? dancing, dance club, , boat life, romance, teak, cetol, dolphins We talk about boat life ups and downs. Replaced some teak toerail. Saw some great dolphins, birds, turtles, deer. Getting provisions on to the boat is not always straight forward. Moving stuff in a cart down a long dock, upstairs, jumping over to boat stepping down into the cockpit and going down below with bags of groceries takes coordination and time. Storage on the boat is similar to our home but has its own challenges. Another thing is A/C power. If we're running both air conditioners and trying to microwave or use the toaster oven we might blow a fuse. There are two 30A cords coming to the boat but with only a 50A available at the dock. We have to use a 50A Y adapter which limits amperage available. Often we will shut off an air conditioner to use some of our other galley appliances. Making repairs often requires quite a bit of customization as evidenced by the toerail replacement. Celebrated by going dancing at a club, had a great time, and were joined by a fun person with a bubble machine. Thanks for viewing! A special thanks to our subscribers!!!!???? Dolphins, swapping heads, rubbing man overboard pole, poetry, walking in the woods, dancing, battery, 12v, Believe it or not, we?re installing or swapping heads again. Wanting to make our aft cabins nice for guests we decided to swap the front head?s electric toilet and the aft cabin?s manual toilet. Thus, providing electric easy to use heads for both guest cabins. We think we now have the ideal head placement and hopefully, won?t be installing anymore toilets. Steve installed a switch and terminal block for when we add electrical accessories. It will be easier to tie into power this way, thus not having to connect directly to the batteries. Karen sanded the man overboard pole and added a third coat of polyurethane. We?re finally getting settled in our new location. Took a long walk through a wooded park and we?ve been lucky to see dolphins swim by the boat on several occasions. Really loving it here. After a long haul from the Florida Keys to Georgia, we finally got our vehicles settled in. The ride was a blast?despite a sore backside! The poor Suzuki Hayabusa was in desperate need of a cleaning after the journey, we found a cozy storage unit for its home and made it shiny again. Meanwhile, our TaylorMade 2-step wasn?t quite cutting it for the new slip, so we built a platform to raising the steps up easy boat access. Enough DIY?adventure called! We ditched the tools and went exploring, stumbling upon a beautiful walking beach. Steve, of course, couldn?t help but admire Karen?s beach bikini, which led to all kinds of mischievous thoughts. Back on board, the never-ending toilet saga continued! This time, we tackled the VIP toilet, re-plumbing it and added a macerator with fresh discharge hoses. And of course, no day is complete without dancing! We moved to some great music?sometimes to tracks we can't use on our channel due to copyright, so we find similar beats to share. Other times, we dance to the exact music we plan to post. Either way, the rhythm keeps us going! We love you subscribers!!! Many thanks to those viewing our channel. Karen finally took the helm topless?mission accomplished! While still anchored and waiting on repairs, we took the time to get organized. We secured a spot at Hinckley Yacht Services in Stuart, where several essential fixes were completed. Once ready, we set sail from Stuart, making our way to Cape Canaveral for an overnight stop. From there, we continued to Jacksonville for another night before pushing on to Georgia, where we'll be taking a well-earned traveling break. Sailing all night has its own anxieties. Even with radar and AIS you still can't see what's in front of the boat. We have a camera on the bow but its IR isn't powerful enough to see more than 30 or 40 feet ahead in darkness. Thinking another bow camera with more powerful IR is in the future. Karen is officially a little Georgia peach now?haha! Thank you so much subscribers!!!?? Anchored, cummins, jerry cans, screwing, dancing, fuel, diesel. We are still anchored. Started to go out, the engine died and ended up being towed back to the same anchorage we were at previously. Steve has done some diagnostics and we?re making progress on fixing the issue. Using the time to do some DIY, we adjusted the board where we secure our jerry cans. It was lowered to better align with the height of the cans and had to be cut so it would not rub against the turn buckle on one of the shrouds. Karen screwed on bolt protectors so the bolts would not rub on the cans. What do we do at anchor? Bringing in the 2025 new year we reflected on 2024, living in the Florida Keys and are hoping to leave this anchorage soon. We wish all of our subscribers and viewers the very best for 2025. Welcome aboard to our sailing adventures! Join us as we dive into boat maintenance, DIY upgrades, and unforgettable moments on the water. Recently, we gave the forward head a teak backsplash makeover and repaired some molding. We encountered some manatees while walking. By stripping old latex paint off a wall, a beautiful African mahogany wood surface was exposed. Explained the hydraulic steering system on Isabella?from the helm pump to the autopilot actuated electric pump and hydraulic linear drive. Waiting to get it power bled to get any air out of the hydraulic fluid. We and the boatyard also did some engine care, including an acid flush for the Cummins engine heat exchanger, antifreeze flushing for the Northern Lights generator, and rebuilding the diesel fuel tank access flange. And of course, we?ve got some great music and a little waltz to make the experience even more fun! Come along for the ride as we share our love for boat maintenance, upgrades, and the beauty of life on the water! We love you subscribers! Thanks for viewing!???? This boating trip has been a blend of mundane maintenance and delightful discoveries. Days were filled with the familiar rhythms of boat life: defrosting the refrigerator, scrubbing the cockpit, and facing the inevitable challenges of onboard repairs. A leaking generator pump added a layer of discomfort, especially in the cooler weather, but Steve installed a new pump which made it so we could run the heaters in the cooler weather. The fuel tank woes, however, proved more serious. A hefty 170 gallons of fuel had to be removed, the tank thoroughly dried, and then refilled at an estimated cost of $660. While frustrating, this unexpected expense was a reminder of the inherent costs of boat ownership. Yet, amidst the challenges, there were some nice moments like spotting gentle manatees is always a magical encounter. Evenings at the slip were spent savoring delicious meals at local restaurants. These experiences, however fleeting, served as a reminder that the true rewards of boating lie in the unexpected adventures and the simple pleasures of life on the water. As we sat comfortably in the cockpit of our sailboat, a glass of wine in hand, relaxing and enjoying the breathtaking view. The air is a little crisp, as we watch fast-flying birds cut through the wind, their graceful movements adding to the sense of tranquility. Inside the VIP head, a new teak backsplash enhances its appearance, giving the space a refined touch. The galley has also been updated with a specially designed board to keep dishes secure while we're underway, adding practicality without compromising style. After finally making it into a boatyard, the team thoroughly inspected our fuel system for any diesel and air leaks. They discovered a reversed O-ring on the primary filters, which they corrected. In addition, one of our engine mounts had slipped, but the technicians carefully repositioned it within specifications and checked the engine/shaft alignment, which was excellent (within 0.002?). With the repairs made, we set off into the Atlantic, heading north, eager to continue our voyage. However, just three hours into our trip, the engine unexpectedly died once again, forcing us to be towed back to the same anchorage we had departed from?an all-too-familiar feeling of d?j? vu. Undeterred, Karen kept herself busy straightening some lines and sanding a man-overboard pole. Of course, we found time to dance, finding joy in the little moments despite the setbacks. cummins, dinghy, bikini, diesel, games Anchored and still working on the Cummins 4BT engine. We thought we had the fuel system fixed, had run the engine for a couple of hours, and saw some air bubbles in the Racor filters. The vacuum also increased into an unacceptable range. Going to investigate the system between the fuel tank and the primary Racor filters. It?s like we have gremlins. It?s getting a little cooler here and the poinsettia isn?t liking the change in weather. Hopefully it will survive. So, what do we do at anchor? Lowered the dinghy and went for more provisions. Played strip checkers, gin rummy and Karen talked about two bikinis she was wearing. Thank you so much for viewing! Subscribers, we love y?all. We are working on putting up some shorts. Anchored, auto pilot, fuel gauge, horn, raymarine Ordered a new fuel gauge, as both of ours stopped working and anchored while waiting for its delivery. This gave us some time to tweak a few things on Isabella. Steve solved the mystery of the auto pilot not working. It was a network issue and once the old Actisense converter was disconnected, the auto pilot recognized all other instruments and is now fully functional. We added a single 118 dB horn. Installed the new fuel gauge below which also sends a signal to the fuel gauge in the cockpit. They both work now. We were running low on provisions (mainly coffee and wine) so launched the dingy to go into town. The outboard motor stopped working and Steve had to row us back to the boat. The inner lining of the fuel hose had collapsed which prevented fuel flowing to the outboard. That?s been replaced and provisions restocked. Luckily there wasn?t too much water in the fuel filter. Steve filtered out the water and added some fuel additive. Waiting for the holiday to be over and a weather window to continue our cruise. Wishing you all a very happy and safe holiday season! Leaving paradise and heading north for winter. It seems a little backwards. We've been in the Florida Keys for quite some time and needed a change. Before leaving we checked out systems, safety gear, and more. Smooth sailing north and decided to stop at Ft. Lauderdale for some additional fuel and us. Gotta love those bascule bridges. We hate going under 65? fixed bridges since we have a 63? air draft. Leaving Ft. Lauderdale we had great cruising and then hit some weather. We decided to duck in and found a very nice anchorage. The bottom has great holding and we are well hooked with our 121 pound Rocna anchor. Our Lofrans Falkon windlass is definitely up to the task maneuvering that size of an anchor. We have 200 feet of 1/2 inch chain and the Rocna handles the currents and occasional swells without a problem. Our plants are enjoying sun time in the cock pit. Once anchored we charged our batteries with 1000 watts of solar and 400 watts of wind generator. We also have a Northern Lights 5 kw generator for backup. Thanks for viewing.
