A fish tale, Greek dancing, lights, exercise, propeller, comments and more. Come on aboard and join us! This time on Sailing Intermission, our aft reverse cycle unit stopped producing warm air. No fun as the temperatures are beginning to drop. Low and behold, for the aft unit, it was a fish that had been sucked up into the hose feeding the strainer preventing needed water flow. How big of a fish? Check it out in the video around the 7:00 mark. Now, we’re nice and toasty. Steve finished the rear sail locker stairs that he started making in the previous video. They made it so much easier getting into and out of that sail locker. Even Karen can pop out of the locker easily. We address some of y’all’s comments/questions from previous episodes. Always love reading your responses to our videos. It really makes us feel closer to you. In anticipation of the holiday season, more and more lights adorn Isabella. Are there even more to come? The cockpit lights blink in time to tunes being played and it’s beautiful to see the boat all lit up and festive looking. Alright, we’re not Greek but tried to do some Greek dancing. Balancing on a boat is difficult. Dancing with one foot off the ground is even more so. Looks like we need quite a bit more practice. Always huge hugs and kisses to our subscribers. Y’all really rock. Love you viewers, too and would be ecstatic if you subscribe to Sailing Intermission. We’re on a mission to make our channel grow. Please help us out and subscribe. Friends, Screwing Around, Propeller, Double Wall, Reverse Cycle Air Conditioner and More Hello everyone and big hugs and kisses to our subscribers. Many of you have been with us for a very long time and all of you help to keep our boat afloat. Viewers, we’re so thrilled you watched our latest video and would love for you to join us by hitting that subscribe button so our channel can continue to grow. The salon has a recessed area where Isabella’s electrical panels and other instruments are located. There is a removeable African Mahogany wall that did not completely seal off from the engine room. Steve built a birch wall to seal off that area and then reinstalled the original wall. The double wall protects that area from any heat and smell that comes from the engine room. We were lucky enough to have our friends visit for a couple of days as they had cruised down from the north. It was party time, catching up while enjoying good food and spirits and exploring some sights. Messing around with them was fun! Our aft rear reverse cycle air conditioner broke and the unit is no longer putting out warm air. Burrrrrr. To get to the unit, we had to remove everything that was in the aft sail locker. At the bottom of the locker was Isabella’s old propeller. Karen is going to clean it up; another project…It’s quite a deep locker making access difficult. Steve started to build a step to be installed which will make getting in and out of the sail locker easier. Plant update: basil is doing great, dill...not so much. Karen still has hopes that it will continue to grow. 🤞Trying to expand our indoor herb garden, we have now planted scallions. Ending this video, we answer a few comments and questions submitted by y’all. We absolutely love to hear from you, so please continue to comment and ask questions. Lights, Medicine Chest, Jump roping, Savannah, Propane, Dancing We travel up to Savannah to enjoy the holiday sights. The River walk and squares are becoming decorated for the upcoming holiday season. Even the Georgia Queen is donned in garlands and red bows as she makes her way up the river. The medicine chest floor in the owner’s cabin over the years had begun to sag. Using a small hydraulic jack Steve was able to boost it up so it is once again straight. He also added some additional wood and a fake wall which hides the wires running through the cabinet. It really dressed it up and Karen is excited about using it again. Putting up holiday lights all around Isabella’s deck and eating a festive turkey dinner is how we’re getting the season off to a jolly start. Of course following that yummy dinner, going to the gym and jump roping was the next activity. In the last episode you all saw us remove one of the horizontal 20 pound propane tanks that was on board. It had a bit too much rust. This time it was replaced with a new 11 pound propane tank which sits upright next to the remaining 20 pound tank in the port side lazarette. We love hearing comments from our subscribers and viewers as is evident when we answer a few questions we’ve received. It really makes us feel connected to them. We’re sending best wishes and thanks for supporting us to all our subscribers and viewers. If you haven’t already, please become a subscriber, we’d really love for you to help our channel grow. Yoga, Propane Tanks, Kama Sutra, Laundry, Geodes, Gretsch Guitars, Holiday Reflections and a Q & A session Huge geodes and The Great Gretsch Sound exhibit are some of the things we saw on our day trip. Continuing to relax a bit from DIY projects, we do some routine maintenance chores. Bringing up some lingerie to hang in the cockpit, Karen finishes up the laundry. Steve checks out the propane tanks on board. There are two 20 pound propane tanks on Isabella. One of the tanks has a bit too much rust and will be replaced while the other looks great. Karen takes advantage of the nice weather and does a bit of yoga on the stern. With the holiday season upon us, we reflect on holiday traditions in the past and what the upcoming celebrations look like now. They're a different than when we were living in a house yet still enjoyable. Plus our children will visit soon, party time for sure! We love reading and answering viewers comments and thought we’d share a couple of interesting and funny ones we’ve received over time. Let us know in the comments for this video if you enjoyed the Q & A session. Hello to our subscribers, you know we love y’all and thank you for being part of our virtual crew. 🤗😘. We’re going mad!!!! Squeak, squeak, squeak our sub-floor is squeaking and driving us crazy. When it was replaced five years ago apparently we didn’t install enough furring strips. That’s what we are doing in this episode along with replacing the vinyl click lock flooring that lays on top with carpet. Steve made the correct cuts the first time. He really knows how to cut a rug and Karen loves to get down on a nice new floor. Other updates include the progress of the dill we planted. Maybe we’ve lost our green thumbs because the dill doesn’t look so great. It’s been thinned and we’re keeping our fingers crossed that it will continue to grow and bring us delicious flavor in the future. Wondering about the basil we planted? It’s growing strong and steady. Karen gets teary eyed over the Sony video camera. It is no longer functioning. Those wonderful features of a Carl Zeiss lens, internal gimbal stabilization and a super clear 20X Zoom lens are no longer available. Steve will have to catch the wild life with our cell phones. Karen is still keeping up with her jump roping and of course, we dance. Sending huge hugs and kisses to our subscribers!!!! Loneliness, isolation, great views, boating community, beach, boat hook, dill & basil, jump rope Boat life on Isabella can give us feelings of loneliness, isolation and it can also be exciting, fun and at times relaxing. Join us as we share our journey with you working on DIY projects, creating videos that sometimes get age restricted, growing herbs and playing at the beach. Karen is re-sanding the boat hook preparing it for coats of outdoor grade polyurethane. Meanwhile, Steve’s mind is racing with unknown thoughts as he watches her sanding technique. Reflecting on boat life we realize the boating community is extremely supportive and yet, sometimes there is a feeling of isolation. It really helps lift our spirits when family and friends come to visit and we reconnect with boat friends. Karen did some jump roping on the dock and at the beach. My supervisor is watching me. It turns me on and is hard to keep my manhood from responding. I love peeling tape off of a newly painted surface. Forever working on Isabella. It's satisfying but a little too much sometimes. Watching Karen polish the stainless steel is certainly fun for me and she enjoys how it shines afterwards. LED lights last a long time but also fail prematurely. Replacing with a WaveOne multi-color light certainly brightens up the salon. More maintenance. We're trying to trace down a very subtle leak. We know there is one because our accumulator is working properly and our water pump comes on to refill it even when a faucet is not being used. What is an accumulator? Fresh water systems on a boat include a holding tank, a water pump, and a device to reduce the amount of time the pump runs when using water. This is the job of an accumulator. Ours is a 2 gallon tank with a pressurized diaphragm. This enables the ability to turn on a faucet without the pump running every time. We certainly need a better storage system for pots and pans. Digging out our wok takes a bit of time but the stir fry we make with it is worth the effort. Thanks for subscribing! It means a lot to us. ❤️😘❤️ Musical Attributes: Daniel Gunnarsson - The Storm Inside Par 50's - You Shine on Me You can also follow us: https://linktr.ee/sailingintermission #SailingCouple #dancing #wok #manhood #BoatLife #Mikado56 #SailingIntermission #maintenance

Karen is at the gym. Stretching and straining her body. Steve wants to be her artist and draw her nude. Back to the beach we continue talking about living on a sailboat. Steve has a suggestion about a new bikini bottom for her. Nice walking at low tide. Packed sand sometimes looking like another world. Karen is a bit out of practice with her cartwheel but she soldiers through. We dry brine and cook some chicken breasts. Discuss the costs of life on a boat. Sometimes romantic sometimes constant work. Thanks to everyone for viewing. An extra thanks to those who subscribe! 😍 If you haven't already please hit the subscribe button. 🏍️Hayabusa, Poop, Basil, Dill, Dolphin🐬, Busa not P@#sy I strapped my hands across his engines. Riding on the Hayabusa is hot! The sound of the 194 HP engine, the gentle vibrations, the power is intoxicating. Karen loves the galley floor, a little too much, but nice. It's always great to see dolphins swimming free. Boat maintenance is ever present. Trying to keep the deck pristine is a workout. Bird poop tends to stain the deck. Maybe that's where "poop deck" came from. Our dill and basil are really growing. Karen is jumping for joy and exercise. Why do people abandon boats? Some just leave them to rot others store them in a slip to rot. Sad. 🌿 Herbs, Squirters & Salsa – Another Week on the Water! ⛵ This week aboard Sailing Intermission… Our basil and dill surprised us by sprouting early—who knew we had such a green thumb? Meanwhile, we tackled some boat chores: Steve sanded rust off the emergency tiller head and gave it a fresh cold zinc coating. That man and his pole... Karen swears he's just showing off. 😏 We're still stripping (wood, people—get your mind out of the bilge), revealing even more of our beautiful African Mahogany. Messy, but worth it! The dinghy? Oh boy. We left it in the water too long and it turned into an oyster nursery. Baby oysters everywhere—and yep, they squirt. Karen got squirted all over and had to swap her bikini for something more… splash-resistant. She may never drink boba tea again. 😂 The dinghy got a full Brazilian (you’ll see what we mean), and Steve may or may not have outed Karen’s "bald kitty." Don’t worry—it’s all in good fun. We wrapped it all up with some salsa dancing on deck, because why not? 🎉 As always, THANK YOU to our awesome subscribers! What you'll see in this episode: • How to restore and cold-zinc coat a CQR anchor • A look at our homemade lightning grounding setup • Boat life gardening: replanting herbs aboard a sailboat • Behind-the-scenes of liveaboard life with Karen & Steve • Some dancing, of course! Refinishing Our Anchor + DIY Lightning Protection | Sailing Intermission In this episode of Sailing Intermission, we take on a few important boat projects while living aboard our sailboat Isabella. First up: restoring our 66 lb CQR anchor! Under Karen’s capable guidance, we drop it into the dinghy, sand off the rust, and apply a cold zinc coating. Getting it back aboard wasn’t easy, but we made it happen—with a bit of teamwork and muscle. We also revisit our DIY lightning protection system—yes, the one made from car jumper cables connecting the rigging to the ocean. Is it effective? We’re not totally sure, but we’re doing what we can to protect our mast and electronics in case of a strike. Out on deck, it was time to replace our tired herb garden. We replant fresh basil and throw in some dill too. Gotta keep the boat meals flavorful! As always, there’s plenty of fun, dancing, and a bit of cheeky humor. Karen narrates this episode. Was shee naked? Steve is a fan of her new green skirt 🌿💃 🔔 Subscribe for more sailing, DIY boat projects, and off-grid cruising adventures! 👍 Like, comment, and share if you enjoy the episode. #SailingLife #CruisingSailboat #LiveaboardLife #BoatProjects #SailingIntermission #SailboatDIY #AnchorRestoration #OffGridLiving #SailingCouple #cruisinglifestyle Musical Attributes OTE - Balloon Lama House - A Pilgrim's Tale Dia Shuai - Momentum II. Getting on hands and knees, climbing the pole, poetry, CQR anchor, fish chasing dolphin, and dancing. It’s time for sprucing up Isabella. All hands on deck as Karen gets on her hands and knees to wash the deck clean. The wind generator pole is made of 316 stainless steel and still managed to attract a bit of rust. Rubbing and polishing the pole reminded us of the poem, Sail Away With Me by Laney Mills and we share a few stanzas with y’all. Steve climbs the pole to reach the last hard spots as Karen enjoys watching from behind. Isabella has two anchors, a 121 pound Rocna and a 66 pound CQR. We use the Rocna as the main anchor. The CQR has a few rusty spots. Rather than re-galvanizing it, Steve treated the rust, getting it ready to be painted. A surprise appearance of a dolphin was seen chasing a fish. And of course, we danced. Huge hugs and kisses to our subscribers! Love y’all and look forward to your comments. If you haven’t already subscribed, come on aboard and hit that subscribe button. We’ve been busy on Isabella with DIY, topless sunbathing, and fun too. After some detective work we located the source of a small leak in the galley. A boat should not leak! Steve removed the stanchion which was the area where water managed to leak into the galley. He worked his magic and ta-da, no more leak. Still improving the cockpit appearance, we straightened and cleaned a dirty crooked winch handle holder. It looks so much better now. Most exciting of all, we installed a portable washing machine with a spinner. It was touch and go there at first, watch the video to see what happened in the end. With all that DIY, lots of materials and tools get pulled out from everywhere and typically end up in the salon. Moving through that area becomes a hassle. It’s not all work, work, work. We did take some time to visit a few local bars, Karen did some sunbathing and Steve enjoyed the view on and from the boat. Always trying to keep exercise in our routine, Karen proved she can still jump rope, well...kind of. We are so thankful for the support of our subscribers! Dinghy ride, a day at the beach, Hayabusa motorcycle cruise, ceviche and dancing. Join us for some relaxation and fun. Yep, no DIY this time on Isabella, the 56’ CNSO Mikado we call home. Steve and Karen take some time off to relax with a dinghy ride to check out the nearby oyster beds and the depths close by. Well, ok...it was also to see if the new connector between the motor and fuel line fixed the Mercury outboard issue we experienced in the last episode. Spoiler alert, no fix and still an issue. Hmmm, another DIY episode for a future date? The weather here has gotten warmer and we headed to the beach to cool off. Karen couldn’t resist the bathtub temperature water. Still not being cooled off enough, she took off her shirt to feel the full effect of the ocean breeze. It had been a while since the Hayabusa had been started and Steve decided it was time for a test drive. That baby started right up without any hesitation, so off he went. It always brings a smile to his face when he rides that machine. Beside dancing, cooking is another favorite activity on Isabella. Using our own recipe, we made ceviche with shrimp, Serrano peppers, fresh cilantro and other fresh ingredients. The taste was out of this world. Thank you for joining us on our adventure. Enjoying morning coffee on the boat. Karen was doing some jumping jacks. Steve liked watching her jump up and down in her bikini. The original lazarette seats in the cockpit were built using thin fiberglass over wood. Through the decades the fiberglass cracked letting in water to rot the wood. Both sides needed replacing. We used marine grade plywood that has a high end core among other things. Finished with a dark stain and multiple coats of exterior polyurethane with UV inhibitors. They should last for some time. Karen was bailing water out of the dinghy we had launched when guests were on board. Had a little fuel delivery problem that is maybe fixed. Replaced the part that connects the fuel hose directly to the Mercury outboard. Took a long walk in the woods to relax. Toward the end the bugs came out which hastened our return. travel, teak, toerail, hull, dancing, jumper cables, cheeky It's hurricane season so we doubled up our dock lines before heading out to the west coast. Visiting California and Washington was a blast. Perfect weather and lots of pelicans in San Diego. Seattle brought flying fish at the Pike Place Fish Market and a wall of gum-yuck. Arriving back home we were pleased to see Isabella and all systems were working well. A fender rubbed black residue on the hull. With some buffing and scrubbing, Steve was able to remove the stubborn sticky substance. Continuing clean up, we put a couple of coats of polyurethane on some of the teak in the cockpit and touched up the toerail with a coat of Sikkens Cetol. And then it rained, dang it! Hopefully, the poly and Cetol had enough time to dry. Time will tell. Super big hugs, kisses and thank yous to our subscribers. If you're not a subscriber, come join us!
