Fast Escapes & Island Days With the Fastnet on the horizon and weather windows to catch, Simon and Tracey slipped away for a short but perfectly timed summer break aboard Dazcat 1495 Hissy Fit. What followed was a quick pre-race getaway to the Isles of Scilly - short hops between islands, relaxed cockpit dining, and time ashore exploring some of their favourite corners. Departing the Helford River, the cruise began with a moment that perfectly set the tone. Simon spotted two boats from his past: a beautiful (and allegedly fast) Nigel Irons cutter, and Dazcat 14 Lady Bounty, perhaps the very first Dazcat he worked on, back when he was still on the tools. Seeing both boats looking so well was a genuine pleasure, and Simon’s quiet delight at crossing paths with his own history was a joy to watch. Out west, Hissy Fit did what Dazcats do best - making the most of short weather breaks to deliver big rewards. Island-hopping, calm anchorages, easy walks ashore and unhurried evenings in the cockpit defined the days. Simon’s boundless enthusiasm for anything floating, splashing or moving with the tide set the tone, while Tracey found her happy place among beautiful anchorages, good walks, and the welcome comfort of a warm cabin when the deck turned a little soggy. A compact cruise, full of all the good bits a holiday should have, and the perfect reminder that even in the run-up to a major race, there’s always time for a little Dazcat magic.

Watch the full episode here: https://youtu.be/xj4JnxsbCiA This week's episode is a particularly exciting one for us....we're diving into the helm station! This is one of those spaces that can totally make or break the overall feel of the boat. Having a spot that flows well and is super comfortable makes the sailing experience SO different, and we've been on boats that we LOVE the layout and ones that we don't, so we're taking what we've learned over the last 15 years and applying it here to craft our dream helm station. It's crazy to imagine all the experiences we will have there, and all the places it will take us...imagining Sierra on her first watches and controlling this 53 foot beast of a boat from right in this chair definitely gives us all the feels 🥹 So you can see why we're putting so much love and care into the design and planning, and we hope you enjoy following along in the process with us! In-depth South Georgia, Falklands & Antarctica Expedition - MS Fram December 6-27 2025
In 2025, our small family crew aboard Excelsior sailed an epic 8,296 nautical miles solo — crossing the Mozambique Channel, rounding Cape Agulhas and the Cape of Good Hope, and conquering the vast Southern Atlantic. We explored eight incredible countries and surfed to a thrilling top speed of 19.6 knots! ⛵ The true magic was in the people and places: heartfelt welcomes and braais in South Africa, wildlife wonders like bow-riding dolphins, playful seals, African penguins, adorable hyraxes, and a surprise manatee and her calf. We battled 65-knot gusts in Hout Bay, hiked Table Mountain spotting rare Disa orchids; explored Namibia’s Kolmanskop ghost town and towering dunes; met ancient Jonathan the tortoise on remote St Helena; flew our spinnaker “Ray” for eight glorious days across the Atlantic; danced to Olodum drums in vibrant Salvador; kited in tranquil Galinhos; were welcomed to French Guiana by pink river dolphins and celebrated Christmas diving Grenada’s underwater sculpture park and cruising the Tobago Cays. A year of triumphs over challenges, breathtaking beauty, and lifelong connections. Here’s to even more adventures in 2026! 🌍✨ Onwards and Upwards. #SailingLife #FamilyAdventure #AtlanticCrossing #Sailing2025 #CatamaranLife #SouthAfricaSailing #NamibiaAdventure #StHelena #BrazilSailing #Grenada #SailingExcelsior #LiveaboardFamily
Join Chris Beeson as Yachting Reviews takes a six-day visit to Hallberg-Rassy for an in-depth test of its Hallberg-Rassy 370. We'll give you a full walkthrough of the deck, cockpit, and its beautifully made interior, then we'll join Magnus Rassy, who'll explain the hidden key features of this new yacht, and then we'll go sailing. The iconic Swedish boat builder Hallberg-Rassy is revered in cruising circles, so the new 370, which splashed in August 2025, was always destined to cause ripples of excitement. The 370 is emblematic of what’s changed and what’s stayed the same since Magnus Rassy took the helm in 2003. It’s a wonderfully built, easily handled Frers-designed 2+2 yacht with thoughtful design touches, made instantly familiar by the famous sheer, coachroof profile, windscreen, blue stripe and rubbing strake. So far, so Hallberg-Rassy. What’s changed is that this is an aft-cockpit yacht with twin rudders, a synthetic teak deck, an all-new keel attachment method, a fold-out bathing platform, a fixed bowsprit, plus coachroof-based jib tracks and main traveller. - We love reviewing yachts for you, but it costs money and pays very little – for the moment, at least. After being stuck for months, the catamarans are on the move to their new shipyard. Driven by audacious launches in 2025, we're heading towards an even more innovative 2026. #beneteau #designedtoberemarkable -- About BENETEAU -- The first BENETEAU boats sailed from the shipyards of Croix-de-Vie over 140 years ago. Since that time, the BENETEAU brand has been synonymous with quality and innovation to all those who have taken to the water – first by the fishermen who made their livelihood from the sea and then by the legions of recreational boaters around the globe. Over the years, our commitment to innovating and embracing ideas, no matter how unconventional, has been at the forefront of who we are in order to bring you the best boat possible. BENETEAU was one of the first boatbuilders many years ago to use computer-aided design (CAD) as well as lighter, stronger composite building materials. We’ve also been at the cutting edge of using greener materials and processes to do our part in protecting the incredible world which we explore. However, all this innovation doesn’t mean we’ve turned our back on tradition. One thing we’ve discovered in over a century of boatbuilding is that new-world innovations work best with old-school craftsmanship. This combination has resulted in some of the most iconic sailboats and powerboats in the world – supremely seaworthy yachts renowned for their sense of style, luxury, and comfort along with their creative use of space and new technologies. -- Philosophy -- We’re a lot like you. We love the water in all its forms – the ocean, bays, lakes, and rivers. And we love sharing the boating lifestyle with our family and friends. This love manifests itself in every BENETEAU built in any one of our many manufacturing facilities worldwide. Every BENETEAU sailboat and powerboat on the water reflects the best efforts of the finest architects, designers, and craftsmen along with the highest quality materials and the latest innovations. When you purchase a BENETEAU, you become a valued member of our BENETEAU family. For this reason, our after-sale service is second to none as evidenced by the multitude of National Marine Manufacturers CSI Awards for Excellence in Customer Service. At the core of this outstanding service is our exceptional dealer network. Every one of our authorized BENETEAU dealers will be there for you – from choosing the right yacht to the handover and beyond. Your dealer will be your able guide when it comes to maintaining your boat properly and will help you maximize the return on your investment when it comes time to step up to another BENETEAU – and it usually does! We wouldn’t have it any other way. Day 40, Solo NonStop Circumnavigation: My key broke off in the ignition a while ago, and it’s corroded (seized) shut! We won’t be able to motor to charge the batteries or fly to safety. 🙏🏻 we’re committed. It’s September 2nd; 2025. We’re mid Atlantic, finally south of the ITCZ, heading towards the equator (3°35 currently). 2,197 miles from the start (Grenada). 0 engine hours have been used since setting sail. WILL ANSWER ALL COMMENTS WHEN I HAVE SERVICE! ❤️ My name is Captain Kimmer. After tri-outs: sailing across the Atlantic without any navigation equipment, just my eyes and the stars, we’re on mission 1 of 3. A Solo NonStop Circumnavigation with a twist! I hope you enjoy the show. 🐶 ♋️ The Bravest Dog in the World Is About to Change It. Help Us Get There. I’m Captain Kimmer, Kimmer O’Reilly — sailor, survivor, and founder of a mission that shouldn’t be possible. Two-time blood cancer nearly took my life. When I survived, I expected joy. What came instead was an identity crisis. I didn’t know who I was anymore — just that the old me was gone. Then came Casper — my service dog, my best friend, my reason to fight forward. Now, Casper and I are doing something no one believes can be done: a nonstop solo circumnavigation of the globe… starting from the wrong side. We’re sailing east, into the wind and current, through the Southern Ocean and past the Cape of Good Hope — proving that after cancer, life isn’t over. It can be better than it ever was. But we’re not just breaking records. We’re launching a nonprofit to help cancer survivors rediscover purpose, identity, and joy. This GoFundMe isn’t just to keep our sails full. It’s to build something that lasts long after we return. Donate today — not just to help Casper and me sail around the world, but to help thousands of survivors believe they can start again. Let’s show the world what’s possible. 👉 https://bit.ly/BravestDogInTheWorld 🎼 🎵 MUSIC: 🎵 🎼 INTRO: Song: Chime & Nytrix - RunawayMusic provided by NoCopyrightSoundsFree Download/Stream: http://ncs.io/CN_Runaway OUTRO: Song: Coopex, KHEMIS - If Looks Can Kill [NCS Release] Music provided by NoCopyrightSounds Free Download/Stream: http://ncs.io/IfLooksCanKill Watch: http://NCS.lnk.to/IfLooksCanKillAT/youtube
The term Commuter Launch hints at all things commercial and hard work for the masses, however these ostentatious beasts were built for the very few souls who could afford to travel each day from their large mansions on Long Island Sound into New York City to work. https://www.sandemanyachtcompany.co.uk/yacht/786/MOHICAN MOHICAN is a survivor – rescued by a previous owner who had an eye for the extremely #beautiful and the good taste to restore the vessel without spoiling her original charm and patina. A 66 ft café racer perhaps? – Art Deco all moving at 20 knots plus… MOHICAN has enough accommodation to be a classic yacht mothership or family cruiser and her current owner takes his time cruising Sardinia and Sicily each summer – does it actually get better than that?

Unpredicted wind unsetting our anchor meant we have to move quick as we got too shallow & close to land. One more night of wind watching and then we move positions, friends join us and we are all smiling once again. This little period and following weeks were definitely our fondest in Montenegro, while we have to wait out our visa time. I am excited to share whats to come after this point =) Want early access to our videos? Is Boat Insurance a Scam? Not always. But there are 5 brutal truths they don’t tell you until you’re on the phone, filing a claim, and hearing the word "Denied." In this video, we expose the fine print that could leave you stranded: The Survey Trap: How your own survey report becomes a weapon to deny coverage.
British short-handed sailor Ian Hoddle was on holiday in Australia last year when he first met Andy Offord - owner of the Sunfast 3300 Borderline - while out walking the dogs. Roll forward to 2025 and the pair have just competed the big race south as doublehanders on Borderline. Ian also owns and races a Sunfast 3300 shorthanded in his case in the UK, but the duo both speak about how much fun these boats are to race.
In 2024 Edward Curry Hyde and Scott Robertson both completed their first Sydney Hobart race as double-handers. It was an initiation by fire, given the very tough conditions of that race, but undaunted Edward has returned this time pairing up with the very experienced Lincoln Dews. They completed the race in good shape, presently lying third in the IRC Doublehanded division and an impressive 4th overall on IRC.
Grace Shipway has just completed her first race to Hobart aboard the renowned and much-loved S&S 47 Love and War. Her father Peter Shipway completed 31 races south, on two of which he was aboard Love and War when they won the Tattersall Cup for IRC overall. Grace is normally to be found racing aboard Noel Cornish’s Farr 40 Indi, but she hinted that she might be back again for the race to Hobart someday!
RSHYR 2025 | Jiang Lin & Alexis Loison – Min River and BNC - my::NET / LEON worked their way slowly up the Derwent River, both hoping to gain the IRC Overall win as Double Handers.
