À 8 kilomètres des côtes irlandaises, Ambrogio Beccaria s'est retrouvé complètement à l'arrêt, bloqué à cause d'un filet de pêche et d'une bouée enroulés autour de sa quille. Pour se sortir de cette situation et repartir, pas le choix, Ambrogio a du plonger pour couper le filet. Une manoeuvre délicate, aussi proche des côtes et avec un courant aussi fort. Another trunk restoration CD rescued from the bit bucket. This trunk restoration was for Toni. She wanted a trunk to store “this and that’s”, so we found another wall trunk that needed to be rescued. Wall trunks were unusual pieces, built by only a handful of craftsmen, each using their own patented hinge system that allowed the trunk to open fully while sitting flat against a wall. Because of those clever mechanisms, they cost more than the average trunk back in their day. This trunk was made by Clinton. The Clinton Wall Trunk Company was based in Clinton, Massachusetts, and was a prominent late 19th-century manufacturer known for patented trunks with special hinges designed to open flat against a wall, maximizing space. Owned by builder Lyman Leighton, the company thrived around the 1880s–1890s, specializing in innovative space-saving storage and travel trunks. The Clinton Wall Trunk Company was one of the most recognized American makers of wall trunks. This trunk was dated circa 1890. While wall trunks were popular for travel, they are highly functional for small apartments or spaces, making them highly sought-after antiques today. This trunk had traveled back in the day with various pings, dents, and scourges in the metal work, which adds to it charm. And like all trunks, they carried a history. What stories could this one tell? Who owned it? Where had it traveled? What treasures once rested inside? Another trunk rescued, another trunk ready to collect new moments in time." In SC1, North-powered teams swept the podium, with Ino Veritas taking the win ahead of Django WR and RocketNikka. In SC2, Ran claimed victory with Django JP finishing second. Those results helped secure the overall Sardinia Cup title for RORC, second overall for YCCS, and third overall for RORC Gold, putting two Royal Ocean Racing Club teams on the overall podium. As Giulio reflected at the finish, success at an event like this comes from the work of an entire team. Depois de Laguna, não há mais abrigos, nem para emergências. É um trecho que exige respeito, planejamento e um barco impecável — o mesmo lugar onde, anos atrás, a tragédia do veleiro Tunante II aconteceu. Enquanto esperávamos a janela de tempo ideal, aproveitamos para fazer reparos essenciais, como reforçar as roldanas do running backstay por apenas 150 reais e improvisar uma solução para o chartplotter. E em meio a toda essa tensão e preparação, tivemos um reforço de tripulação completamente inesperado: Duca Leindecker, vocalista da banda Cidadão Quem, que eu conheci pelo Instagram e convidei, sem muita esperança, para velejar. Com o Duca a bordo, saímos no final de uma frente fria para encarar o que viesse pela frente. Foram três dias de mar grosso, com a Marinha emitindo alertas de ondas de até 5 metros e ventos de força 8, chegando a 40 nós. Com a tripulação extra, os turnos ficaram mais fáceis, mas o desafio principal era manter o barco e nós mesmos inteiros, com o medo constante de perder o mastro. Nessas horas, quando a única preocupação é chegar ao próximo ponto, a vida se simplifica. É o mais perto de meditação que eu consigo chegar: uma oportunidade de olhar para a própria vida de fora. Derfor var det helt essentielt for os at vi skulle kunne fortsætte med at lave dejlig mad når vi flyttede ud af lejligheden hjemme i Danmark og ned ombord på vores lille båd. Vi rev gas installationerne ud af båden i takt med at vi opgraderede vores batteribank. Vi gik fra 495 Ah AGM batterier og gas til 800 Ah lithium batterier og induktion og airfryer. Så nu får vi sprøde fritter hver gang! Frys og køleskab står som da vi overtog båden i 2021, men måske de også får en opgradering en dag.
