Le Castella is een plaats in Zuid-Italie, in de provincie Calabria. We zijn dus nu op de 'zool' van de Italiaanse Laars. We vonden in Le Castella een prachtige ankerplek met uitzicht op dit vijftiende eeuwse kasteel. De enorme vesting lijkt recht uit zee omhoog te komen. Hij staat op een klein eilandje/rotsplateau dat door een smalle strook met het vasteland verbonden is. De verklaring voor de merkwaardige meervoudsvorm Le Castella is dat hier vroeger meerdere verdedigingswerken in dit gebied. Want wie hier woonde, moest zich voortdurend kunnen verdedigen tegen aanvallen vanaf zee!

Stefano Pizzi, CEO di Spartivento, uno dei più importanti importatori Lagoon in Italia, ci illustra i cinque punti fondamentali del Lagoon 60, ai quali il nostro direttore metterà a confronto altrettanti punti del Samana e del Bali.

Was passiert, wenn zwei Erwachsene mit einer gerade einmal 3,94 Meter langen Topaz Magno bei bis zu 7 Beaufort auf die Ostsee hinausfahren? In diesem ersten Teil nehmen wir euch mit auf einen ungewöhnlichen und zunehmend anspruchsvollen Segeltörn vor Kiel-Schilksee, durch die Kieler Förde und hinaus in die Kieler Bucht. Was zunächst als sportlicher Ausflug mit einer kleinen Gleitjolle beginnt, entwickelt sich schnell zu einer echten Herausforderung: Auf Amwindkurs geht es durch die Dünung Richtung Laboe. Später auf Raumwindkurs zeigt die Magno, was in ihr steckt – Gleitfahrt, hohe Geschwindigkeit und jede Menge Spritzwasser. Doch mit der Geschwindigkeit kommen auch die Probleme: heftige Böen, wiederholte Spinouts, bei denen das Heck ausbricht, und schließlich die ersten Kenterungen. Das Aufrichten wird bei Wind und Welle zum Kräftemessen, während die Jolle immer wieder umschlägt. Und das ist erst der Anfang – denn im weiteren Verlauf des Törns nimmt die Welle draußen in der Kieler Bucht deutlich zu und erreicht bis zu etwa 1,5 Meter.
