After an early start in Swanage, Dorset, we set out for a casual wander along the coast. We didn’t expect to go far… but the path led us through a lovely stretch of woodland and eventually to Durlston Castle, about a mile down the coast. The castle itself was closed (and we stumbled across a parkrun on the way!), so we turned back to Swanage. Later, we parked up at a viewpoint overlooking Poole Harbour — the perfect spot to watch the summer solstice sunset, which was nothing short of spectacular. 📍 Locations: Swanage, Durlston Castle, Poole Harbour, Dorset 🎥 Features: • Early morning wander in Swanage • Woodland walk to Durlston Castle • Solstice sunset overlooking Poole Harbour • A peaceful vanlife park-up with stunning views 💡 A mix of coastal walking, vanlife, and sunset chasing — a perfect Dorset day.
I set out to capture something special — the summer solstice sunrise at Old Harry Rocks in Dorset. Staying overnight in the National Trust car park, I didn’t expect to share it with paddleboarders arriving at 3am, ready to see the sunrise from the calm sea. By the time I walked the mile to the cliffs, more paddleboarders and a few fellow photographers had gathered — all of us waiting for the first light. From the top of the cliffs, I launched the drone and caught stunning footage of the paddleboarders gliding into the sunrise at Old Harry Rocks, one of England’s most dramatic coastal landmarks. 📍 Location: Old Harry Rocks, Dorset, England 🎥 Features: • Summer solstice sunrise • Paddleboarders at dawn • Drone footage of the cliffs and sea • A peaceful morning with photographers & nature lovers 💡 If you enjoy sunrise adventures, UK coastal walks, and drone photography, this one’s for you. ⸻
Barry Island is more than just a seaside town in South Wales — it’s packed with history, nostalgia, and TV fame. For Jane, this was a dream trip — seeing the filming locations from Gavin & Stacey, including Nessa’s booth in the arcade. For Colin, it was a walk down memory lane, back to his very first family holiday in 1983 with mum, dad, two brothers, cousins, aunt, and uncle at Butlins Barry Island. We strolled the seafront, played in the arcade, and soaked up the mix of TV history and seaside holiday nostalgia. 👣 In this vlog: • Visiting Gavin & Stacey filming locations (including Nessa’s arcade booth) • Exploring Barry Island’s seafront • Butlins Barry Island memories from the 1980s • A classic UK seaside day with a personal twist 📍 Location: Barry Island, South Wales 💡 Perfect for fans of Gavin & Stacey, lovers of UK seaside nostalgia, and anyone who remembers the Butlins holiday era. ⸻ 📺 Gavin & Stacey / Butlins Info to Include (in narration or overlay text) • Gavin & Stacey: Barry Island was the heart of the show, with key scenes filmed here (Nessa’s arcade booth, the seafront, etc.). The series ran 2007–2010 with specials, and put Barry Island back on the map for fans. • Butlins Barry Island: Opened in 1966, closed in 1986. Famous for its chalets, holiday camps, and as a symbol of classic British seaside holidays. Many families (like Colin’s!) spent their first seaside trips here.
What started as a simple walk to Melincourt Falls in South Wales turned into a mini adventure. The path was blocked just a few hundred metres in — but we climbed the fence, determined to see the waterfall. A massive fallen tree across the path didn’t stop us either. Another fence, another tree… and still we carried on. When we finally reached the falls, we found ourselves completely alone. The water drops powerfully onto giant boulders, creating a place that felt spiritual and serene — worth every obstacle along the way. 👣 In this vlog: • Walking the blocked path to Melincourt Falls • Climbing fences and scrambling over trees • Reaching the secluded waterfall • A peaceful moment with the place to ourselves 📍 Location: Melincourt Falls, South Wales 💡 If you love hidden gems, offbeat adventures, and peaceful moments in nature, this one’s for you.
Tucked away in the Welsh countryside, Henryd Falls gave us one of our most peaceful nights on the road. We parked in a farmer’s field near the National Trust car park, had the place to ourselves, and woke up ready for a short walk to the falls. On the way, Jane made friends with a very friendly donkey 🫏, and when we reached the waterfall… we were the only ones there. We even got to go under the falls, capturing incredible slow-motion and drone shots. I went a little too close to the river for my own good and ended up slipping onto the rocks — thankfully with a soft landing and no injuries. 📍 Location: Henryd Falls, Wales 🎥 Features: • Quiet overnight park-up • Donkey encounter • Walking under the waterfall • Slo-mo & drone footage • A minor river mishap!
We set out on the Pembrokeshire coast path towards the unusual lattice windows near Stackpole Head, but the walk took us through somewhere truly special — Barafundle Bay. On the way back, we sat on the sand wondering: Why is this place so empty? Later, we discovered it’s been voted one of Britain’s best beaches — and we had it almost to ourselves. 👣 In this vlog: • Coastal walk towards Stackpole Head • Passing through the stunning Barafundle Bay • Sitting on the sand, enjoying the peace • The reveal: why this beach is award-winning 📍 Location: Barafundle Bay & Stackpole Head, Pembrokeshire, Wales 💡 Perfect for lovers of hidden beaches, scenic UK walks, and quiet coastal escapes. ⸻
No sun. No swimming. Just the wild Welsh coast, a gusty breeze, and a question we had to answer: Why is the Blue Lagoon here… and why is it so blue? On a windy, overcast day, we explore the Blue Lagoon in Pembrokeshire, uncovering the history of this striking spot — once a slate quarry, now one of Wales’ most unusual attractions. 👣 In this vlog: • Walking the coastal path to the lagoon • The fascinating history behind its creation • Why the water has that incredible colour • Why this place draws visitors in any weather 📍 Location: Blue Lagoon, Abereiddy, Pembrokeshire, Wales 💡 Perfect for lovers of hidden history, coastal walks, and UK travel inspiration — even when the weather isn’t perfect.

I woke up early in our camper at Cwmtydu, while Jane was still asleep, and set out to explore a hidden cove a local had told me about. But instead of finding the stack she described… I wandered 2.5km the wrong way along the rugged Welsh coast! This unplanned adventure led me to some stunning views, wild ponies, and eventually down to Castell Bach Bay, where ancient rock formations twist out of the sand like sculptures carved by time. This is the quiet beauty of Wales you don’t see on postcards — and it’s all part of vanlife. 📍 Locations: • Cwmtydu • Castell Bach Bay • Welsh coast footpaths 🌿 Features: • Vanlife morning routine • Coastal walking mishap (oops!) • Hidden beach discovery • Friendly ponies 🐴 • Geological formations 👍 Like, comment, and subscribe for more UK coastal vanlife stories and misadventures. ✅ Don’t forget to like and subscribe for more UK coastal vanlife content! some of the kit we use to produce our videos: if you click the link we might get a few pennies, even if you don't specifically buy one of these products. We explore the stunning — and seriously steep — Devil’s Bridge Waterfalls in Wales. Before we even get started, we have to figure out which entrance to use (spoiler: the two routes don’t connect!). Jane quickly discovers this is no ordinary walk — the trail includes over 600 steps, some at a 45-degree angle, making it completely inaccessible for anyone with mobility issues. Despite the challenge, we take our time through the forest, soak in the beauty of the falls, and cross the bridge at the base of the river for an epic view. 🚫 Not suitable for wheelchairs or limited mobility 🌲 Woodland trails, waterfalls, and classic Welsh scenery 💬 Let us know if you’ve braved this iconic Welsh walk! 📍 Location: Devil’s Bridge, Ceredigion, Wales 🚐 We’re Jane & Colin, travelling the UK in our campervan — follow our adventures for more stunning spots, honest reviews, and accessible travel tips (when possible!).
