After leaving the wild breakers of Beveridge Reef, we set sail across open water, battling unpredictable winds, zero visibility, and an arrival deadline we cannot miss. Our destination? A place so controversial that some countries deny it even exists. With towering cliffs, hidden caves, no safe anchorages, and a one-of-a-kind system for hauling dinghies out of the ocean, this remote island feels like another world. 🌴 Along the way, we share the challenges of passagemaking in rough seas, the generosity of locals, and the incredible “cruiser mail” network that connects sailors across oceans. From organic honey gifts to surprise spear guns, life out here is anything but ordinary. If you love sailing adventures, remote travel, and exploring places few have ever been, this episode is for you. ⸻ ⏱ Timestamps 00:00 Is this even possible? 00:58 Escaping Beveridge Reef 05:21 Sailing into heavy seas 09:36 Land Ho! 11:06 Arrival at the cliffs of Niue 12:30 First time for everything (dinghy crane) 17:37 Local kindness 19:21 New speargun ⸻ ✅ Don’t forget to subscribe for more ocean adventures and remote island discoveries. 💬 Drop a comment: Would you sail to a place most countries don’t even recognize? 👍 Like the video if you love real adventure, not just travel guides. #SailingAdventure #RemoteTravel #Niue #SailingPacific #OffTheBeatenPath - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 🙌🏻 Support us 🙌🏻 PATREON: www.patreon.com/redseas TIPJAR: www.tpjr.us/redseas NEW MERCH STORE: www.red-seas.com/shop For more information about Zora, check out www.iNav4U.com DISCOUNT CODE: REDSEAS See version 1 (Wayfinder) in action here: https://youtu.be/jQanLnmrHBw 💬 Follow us on social media 💬 FACEBOOK: www.facebook.com/realredseas INSTAGRAM: www.instagram.com/realredseas 🎵 Music 🎵 All tracks can be found at Epidemic Sound. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 📖 Our Story 📖 We're Iain and Brioni [The Reds] a couple of redheaded Scots who sold everything we own and moved halfway round the world to buy a boat that we could call home. After sheltering from a brutal storm, we finally dive beneath the surface — and what we find is unforgettable. Circling barracuda, gray reef sharks, curious fish that have never seen humans before, and a coral playground that feels untouched by time. This might be the wildest, most remote dive we’ve ever done — and maybe fewer than ten people on Earth have experienced it. We filmed so much of our adventure this week that we couldn't fit it all into one episode, and so this is a bonus video just for you, an extra snippet of our life out here on the ocean. 😬 Dumbest Idea Yet?! Sailing into the Narrowest Pass in French Polynesia (with a Torn Sail & a Dead Engine) We officially checked out. Join us as we dodge reefy death traps, fight off battery betrayal, and try (and fail) to look like we know what we’re doing. 🛥️ This week’s chaos includes: • A drone recon mission that definitely wasn’t just for cinematic B-roll • Sailors vs. standing waves: an unlicensed sport • “Plan A” becoming “Plan Oh No” in real time • Discovering our shiny new engine battery was… mostly a placebo • A spinnaker that ripped like our last shred of logic • Fishing: 0 | Curry from gifted marlin: 1 • An entrance attempt into the narrowest and shallowest pass in French Polynesia (because obviously) 🎯 For fans of: • Sailing Vlogs where nothing goes to plan (but somehow still works) • Couples laughing through near disasters • Secret stops and mildly-illegal detours • Drone shots that double as “Are We Gonna Die?” previews • Bluewater cruising with coconut curry as backup • Watching two adults argue lovingly over handline vs. rod 📍Location-ish: • Officially left Maupiti • Unofficially headed for Maupiha'a (“we swear it’s for repairs!”) • Secret anchoring, stealth scuba, and one very sketchy pass later… here we are. 🔧 Repairs we “definitely needed”: • A ripped spinnaker • A crushed dream of going to Hawaii • An excuse to linger in paradise 📈 Tags to feed the algorithm gods: #SailingFails #FrenchPolynesiaSailing #BluewaterCruising #SailingVlog #RemoteAtoll #SailingLife #NarrowPass #SailingHumor #LiveaboardCouple #DroneFootageSailing #OceanAdventure #CruisingLife 🎬 If you made it this far, you deserve a coconut 👍 Like this video if you’ve ever made a bad decision on purpose 🔔 Subscribe for more semi-legal voyages and delicious poor choices 📩 Comment: What’s your most questionable travel detour? 📡 Come find us online (no AIS needed): Instagram: www.instagram.com/realredseas Patreon: www.patreon.com/redseas - - - - - - - - - - - - - For more information about Zora, check out www.iNav4U.com DISCOUNT CODE: REDSEAS See version 1 (Wayfinder) in action here: https://youtu.be/jQanLnmrHBw ⏰ Time Stamps ⏰ 00:00 Leaving the sailor's answer to Bora Bora 00:45 Using our drone to escape this island 04:44 Bad news about our spinnaker! 06:09 How we catch fish from our sailboat 09:34 Where are we going? 13:08 How we actually catch fish on our sailboat 17:07 Change of plans 20:57 Land Ho! 🎵 Music 🎵 All tracks can be found at Epidemic Sound. BUY this underwater electric scrubber to clean your hulls: www.red-seas.com/fairway After over 1,000 days exploring the dreamscape of French Polynesia, we sailed to a place few dare to enter - Maupiti, the untamed sister of Bora Bora. It’s remote, raw, and surrounded by shifting sands and razor-sharp coral. But for cruisers willing to risk it, it just might be paradise. In this episode, we chase oceanic manta rays through crystal shallows, attempt a nerve-wracking hull clean in dangerously shallow waters, and almost run aground. But the real challenge? A steep and exposed hike to the summit of Maupiti’s towering peak - where we capture breathtaking drone footage of this untouched atoll, with Bora Bora fading on the horizon. This isn’t just another tropical stop - it’s a final frontier. One wrong move could mean disaster, but the reward? A view of a lifetime and freedom without borders. 👉 Join us as we say goodbye to French Polynesia - and hello to the unknown. ⸻ 📌 Keywords (for SEO/algorithm indexing): • Sailing French Polynesia • Cruising Maupiti • Remote sailing destinations • Oceanic manta rays • Liveaboard life • Dangerous anchorage • Off-grid sailing • Sailing couple vlog • Bora Bora alternative • South Pacific travel ⸻ 🔔 Don’t forget to subscribe for more raw, real, and remote sailing adventures. 👍 Like | 💬 Comment | 📍 Share this journey with fellow adventurers. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 🙌🏻 Support us 🙌🏻 PATREON: www.patreon.com/redseas TIPJAR: www.tpjr.us/redseas NEW MERCH STORE: www.red-seas.com/shop For more information about Zora, check out www.iNav4U.com DISCOUNT CODE: REDSEAS See version 1 (Wayfinder) in action here: https://youtu.be/jQanLnmrHBw 💬 Follow us on social media 💬 FACEBOOK: www.facebook.com/realredseas INSTAGRAM: www.instagram.com/realredseas ⏰ Time Stamps ⏰ 00:00 You have to go to Bora Bora! 00:47 This place is even better 01:53 Swimming with oceanic manta rays 07:02 The easiest way to clean your hulls 09:17 Oops - We ran our boat aground! 09:40 This hike is why we didn't go to Bora Bora 14:37 Jumping off a huge rock 17:39 We made it to the summit 🎵 Music 🎵 All tracks can be found at Epidemic Sound. 🚨 Off-Grid Madness Begins! Sailing Into Cruisers’ Paradise (Definitely Not Bora Bora) One sketchy pass, two mystery planets, and zero regrets. What would you give up for total freedom? House? Job? Sense of direction? We said goodbye to land life and hello to getting mildly yelled at by our chartplotter. In this episode, we sail out of the rules (literally) and into the unknown — chasing remote turquoise waters, dodging reefy death traps, and trying not to mispronounce Danish boat names on the radio. 🛥️ This episode features: • The wiggliest, shallowest mooring exit ever • Timing a narrow reef pass perfectly wrong (hi, low tide!) • Hitchhiking canoe bros and slow-motion chases • Why we said “no thanks” to Bora Bora 🙅♂️ • A moonlit night sail to the lesser-known Maupiti • The most dramatic, wave-pounding atoll entry yet (with actual yelling) • Spotting Venus, Neptune, Saturn, Mercury… and panic • Plus: Possibly never leaving. Because it’s that beautiful. 🌍 Where we went: • Snuck out of Taha’a • Avoided Bora Bora like a crowded buffet • Found our version of paradise: Maupiti (aka “Cruisers’ Bora Bora”) • Survived the most chaotic entrance since… last week 🤣 For viewers who love: • Real sailing, real swells, real “what are we doing?!” moments • Humor at the helm and chaos in the cockpit • Couple banter, reef passes, and slow-motion anchoring • Sailing past the rules (and maybe immigration) • Plot twists with dolphins, dinghies, and Danish boat names • Unexpected astronomy lessons at sea 📈 SEO-friendly tags & themes: #SailingVlog #FrenchPolynesia #OffGridLiving #BoraBoraAlternative #CruisersParadise #BluewaterSailing #RemoteAtolls #NightPassage #CoupleSailing #SailingLife #OceanAdventure #ReefPassNavigation 🔥 Call to Action: 👍 Like this if you’ve ever made a terrible yet beautiful decision 📩 Comment your best “we’re not supposed to be here” travel moment 🔔 Subscribe for more semi-legal, fully-magical misadventures 🧭 Share with anyone who thinks sailing is “just relaxing” - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 🙌🏻 Support us 🙌🏻 PATREON: www.patreon.com/redseas TIPJAR: www.tpjr.us/redseas NEW MERCH STORE: www.red-seas.com/shop For more information about Zora, check out www.iNav4U.com DISCOUNT CODE: REDSEAS See version 1 (Wayfinder) in action here: https://youtu.be/jQanLnmrHBw 💬 Follow us on social media 💬 FACEBOOK: www.facebook.com/realredseas INSTAGRAM: www.instagram.com/realredseas ⏰ Time Stamps ⏰ 00:00 What would you give up for your dream? 01:02 Most difficult mooring field we've ever visited 04:58 Picked up a hitchhiker 06:29 Setting sail in the dark 09:47 It's a sailing race when you're winning 13:08 Land ho 14:40 Too dangerous to enter? 17:39 Better than Bora Bora 🎵 Music 🎵 All tracks can be found at Epidemic Sound.
