Marine diesel serpentine belt upgrade kits are great in theory, and if properly made for your engine, they 'should' be easy for the DIYer to install with basic tools. Balmar is notorious for making kits and accessories at a premium price, that don't really fit the engines they are designed to fit, claiming that it's the customers fault for problems. Normally, I'm not the one installing a new kit, but I don't come across alot of these issues in the field after they have had some major failures due to poor fitment. I want to show you what I mean, so you can be prepared for some of the potential issues/fixes you may face if purchasing one of these kits! It may not be the "easy" install you were told.

Matteo, cos'è Marine d'Italia, qual è il suo scopo? "Marine d'Italia nasce da un progetto Toscano, il Consorzio Marina Toscana, quando nel 2019 tre porti si sono uniti per fare progetti. Ora siamo a 14 marine della Toscana e a breve potremmo dire che altri tre porti si ammetteranno al consorzio. Questo progetto è piaciuto molto anche fuori dai confini regionali e si è consolidato in Puglia, con Marine della Puglia e in Sardegna, con la rete virtuale della Sardegna. A Düsseldorf ci siamo parlati, abbiamo presentato un'idea, Marine d'Italia, che è un brand, non un'associazione, è una cosa completamente diversa, è una rete che fa cose e non deve rappresentare nessuno." Come è stato accolto? "Com grande interesse. Ora si stanno interessando anche altre regioni come la Friuli Venezia Giulia, il Veneto, addirittura la navigazione interna. Speriamo che per il 2027 di arrivare con un marchio consolidato e presentare il nostro progetto definitivo". Facciamo un esempio pratico: io sono un turista americano. Ho una barca, l'ho portata al Mediterraneo, a cosa mi può servire Marine d'Italia? "Uno degli esempi di riferimento secondo me , è la difficoltà da parte dell'utente che non capisce per quale motivo in altri mercati, tipo quello del trasporto su ruota, penso ai treni, si può comprare un biglietto con un'applicazione dove tu direttamente da casa, dal tuo smartphone, puoi prenotare un biglietto, pagarlo, modificarlo, scegliere il posto. Perché nella nautica no? Ecco, un progetto tangibile, scalabile che stiamo facendo è il progetto Ormeggiando, è un portale finanziato in questo caso dalla regione Toscana che prevede di mettere in contatto direttamente chi ha il posto barca con l'utente. Chiamiamolo un Airbnb del post di market. The Solomon Islands consist of six major islands and over 900 smaller islands. They're located on the southeastern corner of the Coral Triangle, just northeast of Australia. The Solomon Islands sit within the global epicenter of biodiversity, the Coral Triangle. Thus, you can expect to encounter an overwhelming amount of marine life. This includes beautiful little reef fish that dance like glitter suspended in the water column, larger schooling fish like snappers, jacks, and parrot fish, and awe-inspiring pelagic species like manta rays, reef sharks, and barracuda. Hopefully, we'll also find some weird benthic creatures like scorpion fish, signal gobies, and maybe even a seahorse! Given the Solomons' unique geographic location, straddling the border of Southeast Asia and the South Pacific islands, we'll see a mixture of both of these underwater worlds. We'll see reefs similar to those found around North Sulawesi, where hard and soft corals form a carpet of color and texture. Also, we'll see that many of the reefs share topographic features with Fiji- crevices illuminated by piercing beams of light. There are even a couple of wrecks for us to explore, including some from WWII.

Nach einer ruhigen Nacht vor der Küste von Roquetas de Mar lichten wir am Morgen den Anker. Die nächste Etappe auf dem Wasser ist kurz – gerade einmal 4 Seemeilen bis nach Aguadulce. ⛵🌊 Doch damit beginnt erst das eigentliche Abenteuer: Vom Hafen aus steigen wir aufs Fahrrad und erkunden die Strecke noch einmal – diesmal an Land. 🚴‍♂️☀️ Entlang der Küste führt uns der Weg zurück nach Roquetas de Mar, vorbei an idyllischen Ausblicken, mediterranem Flair und überraschend schönen Ecken, die man vom Wasser aus kaum erahnen kann. Unser Segelboot Squib, ein Catalac 9M, ist in die Jahre gekommen, die Verkleidung hängt teilweise von der Decke, die Farbe blättert ab, die Elektrik auf dem Stand des vorigen Jahrtausends,..... Ein Refit steht an. Doch Broterwerb und Verpflichtungen lassen es nicht zu, monatelang in Griechenland am Boot zu arbeiten. Da wird schon 2018 die Idee geboren Squib nach Wien zu bringen, wo man jederzeit Zugang hat, der Einkauf von Material in der Muttersprache abgewickelt werden kann und alles Andere seinen gewohnten Verlauf nimmt. 2021 war es dann endlich soweit, mit zwei komplett überholten Motoren und einem neuen Geräteträger starteten wir Anfang Juli Richtung Südfrankreich.Leider hatten wir für die gesamte Reise nur zwei Monate Zeit, deswegen hieß es die meiste Zeit Strecke machen. Doch manchmal nahmen wir uns die Zeit zu verweilen, uns Orte näher anzuschauen. Seitdem lag Squib in der Wiener Kuchelau, und der Refit hatte begonnen. Am 17 August 2025 ist es wieder so weit. Obwohl Squib noch nicht ganz fertig ist, werfen wir die Leinen los und starten unsere erste Etappe donauabwärts. Dreieinhalb Wochen später erreichen wir das Donaudelta, der Mast wird gestellt, ein passendes Wetterfenster abgewartet, in zwei Sclägen überqueren wir das Schwarze Meer bis zum Bosporus. Ohne Einzuklarieren mit gehisster Q Flagge durchqueren wir die Türkei und erreichen 5 Tage später die Ägäis. Über Limnos und die nördlichen Sporaden segeln wir bis in den Großraum Athen, von wo aus Sabina nach Hause fliegt, weil ihr Urlaub zu Ende ist. Maiden Voyage of SV Pai Ney, formerly #whitedove . As usual we had some delays due to the old Honda outboard giving out and not able to get the motor started. I switched to the lighter weight #Hangkai 6hp outboard. Honda is a better brand but she needs to be fixed. Plus that motor was too heavy for this Bristol 22. Come vengono costruite le barche Beneteau First? In questo video entriamo nel cantiere di Lubiana dove nascono le celebri imbarcazioni della gamma First fino a 36 piedi. Scopriamo da vicino il processo produttivo, l'ingegnerizzazione e l'attenzione ai dettagli che rendono queste barche performanti, affidabili e adatte anche alle regate. Siamo andati direttamente nel cantiere Beneteau di Lubiana per vedere come vengono prodotte le barche della linea Beneteau First, una delle gamme più apprezzate da chi cerca prestazioni, qualità costruttiva e velocità in navigazione. La prima cosa che colpisce è la straordinaria precisione con cui ogni fase della produzione viene pianificata ed eseguita. Ogni componente della barca viene progettato, studiato e ingegnerizzato in anticipo. Nulla è lasciato al caso e ogni soluzione tecnica viene sviluppata per garantire il massimo delle prestazioni e dell'affidabilità. Le First sono imbarcazioni pensate anche per la regata, motivo per cui ogni dettaglio deve essere realizzato secondo standard estremamente elevati. Dalla struttura della carena ai rinforzi interni, tutto viene verificato e ottimizzato per ottenere una barca veloce, sicura e durevole nel tempo. Un aspetto particolarmente interessante riguarda la lavorazione della carena. Ogni punto in cui vengono effettuati fori per scarichi, prese a mare o altri accessori viene rinforzato in modo specifico rispetto alle aree circostanti. Questo approccio dimostra l'elevato livello di progettazione e controllo qualitativo adottato durante la costruzione. A causa delle attività produttive in corso, caratterizzate da molto rumore e movimento all'interno del cantiere, non è stato possibile realizzare numerose riprese video delle lavorazioni. Tuttavia, attraverso le immagini raccolte e le riprese disponibili, potrai comprendere il processo di costruzione e la qualità che contraddistingue queste imbarcazioni. At the 2026 Helly Hansen Sailing World Regatta in Detroit, area youth teams jumped into Bayview Yacht Club's fleet of Ultimate 20s for a race-packed weekend on Detroit River. We micced up the overall winners from Detroit YC for the last race of the regatta. DYC won 13 of 15 races, but here's how they deal with one they did not win.
