Against the grain. I start by wetting my stubble with warm water. Then I take the wet shaving brush to the shaving soap tub. I load the brush by swirling the brush around the shaving soap tub. I then take the loaded brush to my face and paint the soap onto my skin. I then gradually add more water to the soap by dipping the tips in water and scrubbing the soap on my face to build a nice lather. Once my lather is built I take the razor and perform my three pass shave. Once my face is cleanly shaved, I rinse with cold water. I begin by wetting my whiskers with warm water. I then spread the soap around the base of a smooth Shaving bowl. I then take a wet shaving brush to the soap and swirl the brush around the base in order to load the brush. I then proceed to build a nice lather. I then use the Shaving brush to apply the lather to my face. I loaded the razor with the Euromax razor blade. then performed my first Shaving pass, Shaving with the grain of growth. I repeated this procedure a further two times. But the second pass was across the grain and third pass was against the grain. I then rinsed my face with cold water and dried off, using a towel. I rub some of the soap into my bristles to soften them. I then take the brush to my face and apply lather in a figure of eight motion. I frequently dip the brush tips into water and take the brush back to my face until my lather is wet enough. I then splay the brush to build up my lather. I then take the razor and perform a three pass shave. with the grain, across the grain and finally, against the grain. After the shave I rinse my face with cold water and towel dry. The UK Shaving Soap I'm using in this video is Erasmic Shaving Soap Bowl. Not a new artisin soap. it's been around for about one hundred and fifty years. The razor of choice is the Chinese made, Yaqi Final Cut. The final cut is an adjustable Safety Razor. It's made from brass and alloy. The razor blade is the Bluebird. I haven't used one of these blades for quite a long time. My shaving brush is also from Yaqi. My first pass was made with the razor set to number three, as was the second pass. I recieved a couple of nicks and a spot of blood around my moustache area. So for the third pass I cranked the setting down to number two. luckily, the blood stopped and all ended well.
