HEARTBREAK AT SEA - FORCED TO LEAVE BRAZIL This was one of the hardest episodes we've ever had to share. We lost our beautiful Mocha overboard, unseen and unnoticed until it was too late. She was part of our crew, and many of you who have followed us for years know how much she meant to us. As if that isn't enough, our Aussie crew Clint and Ollie faced a visa nightmare. Despite pying a small fortune for expedited processing, their visas still weren't approved on arrival in Brazil. After initially being grant temporary approval, this was revoked and they were ordered to leave immediately. On our Dorset road trip, we couldn’t miss a stop at Studland Bay — home to one of the UK’s most famous naturist beaches. After walking about a mile from the road across the dunes, we found ourselves on a wide sandy beach. With the sun out and the sea calling, we did something a little different — ditched the clothes and went for a swim! 📍 Location: Studland Bay, Dorset, England 🎥 Features: • Coastal walk through the dunes to the beach • Visiting the naturist section of Studland Bay • A refreshing dip in the sea (wild swim Dorset style!) • Part of our summer Dorset adventures 💡 If you enjoy quirky seaside experiences, coastal walks, and wild swims in the UK, this vlog is one for you.

Travel days in the Raggeds mean more than just sailing — every stop brought us coral dives, shoreline exploring, and big underwater surprises. 💙 What’s your favorite balance of travel vs exploring when you’re on the move? In this episode of Sailing Dark Angel, we head for Buenavista Cay, where an anchor check suddenly becomes a coral dive. Then it’s on to Flamingo Cay, where a big barracuda crashes my anchor check before we set off to explore the shoreline by dinghy and dive its vibrant coral. Even on travel days, adventure finds us. ⚠️ Lightning Strike Update In real time, we were directly struck by lightning. Navigation systems, running lights, anchor lights, work lights, a large freezer, and even our keel were damaged. We're still facing VAT, duty, exchange rates, customs brokerage, and a costly haul-out for keel repairs in the Dominican Republic. I’ve never understood the whole idea of unboxing videos, but apparently they’re a thing and are very popular, so when we took the lid off Kyle Stoneham's Bieker International Moth to see how the hidden rigging systems work, unboxing seemed to be an apt title! So why are all the ropes hidden on all the latest International Moths? It’s all about aerodynamic efficiency as the boats get faster and faster. As we find out with Kyle, there are also some very clever systems under the carbon covers. Non-foiling sailors will understand the terms like vang, cunningham and outhall, but gearing, prodder and the bias adjuster will be new terms, all tied in with the foil control systems, and we attempt to explain what they do. We also take a look at the extraordinary loads the Allen blocks have to handle on the vang, which are measured with a tiny Cyclops load sensor. @allensailing2284 @cyclopsmarine8576 #foiling #unboxing #sailing

In this episode, we say goodbye to our favourite bay in the Maddalena Archipelago and set sail for Corsica, marking the end of our time in Italy—for now. It’s a bittersweet moment, as Italy has left a deep imprint on our journey and our hearts. Our first stop in France is the enchanting island of Cavallo, nestled at the southern tip of Corsica. With crystal-clear waters, elegant homes lining the shore, and perfect conditions for a paddle around the bay, it’s a dreamy start to this new chapter of sailing. The Beneteau 57 was enormously successful and remains a compelling option for anyone looking for volume, comfort, ease-of-handling and great sailing performance delivered by her Bruce Farr designed hull. The design is widely respected, with her central cockpit, protected helm position and huge aft deck and well-appointed interior. We have sold many Beneteau 57s and have had the pleasure of selling One 4 All twice already and we look forward to finding her next owner. She spent her early years in Sweden, mainly under cover, before moving to Malta. Her current owners have kept her in Italy for the past nine years. The 57 is an extremely capable yacht for long passages, and whilst One 4 All has been lightly used many other 57’s have done Atlantic crossings and more. Her specification benefits from a white hull, offset helm position and a cutter rig which perfectly complement the powered in-mast furling; she is easy to handle and has great sailing performance. She has the usual amenities such as air-conditioning, powered davits, water-maker and a generator. NOTABLE FEATURES - Carefully used, well-maintained by her owners to date - Version with forward helm position offset to port - Full beam mast cabin aft with two doubles forward plus bunk cabin midships - White hull – hull 102 - All furling cutter rig with powered furling for the staysail and mainsail - Genoa furls using electric cockpit winch - Gennaker with snuffer new in 2016 and lightly used - White sails were replaced in 2018 - Excellent owners' suite aft with two guest suites forward - Onan generator, water-maker, 40000 BTU air-conditioning, washing machine - Powered Besenzoni davits capable of stowing 3,6 metre RIB with 40HP outboard - Tools, spares and kitchen equipment to be included with the sale To see all of our listings or to enquire about ONE 4 ALL please visit our website. www.aberyyachts.com

People ask us all the time — how do you fly a spinnaker on a Balance catamaran? In this video, Phil from Zoom Sails (who designed every sail for SV GoTFO) walks us through step-by-step: ⚓ Rigging with color-coded sheets & guys (Port sheet = red, Starboard sheet = green, Guys = black) ⚓ Hoist sequence — halyard + sock deployment ⚓ Trimming — sheets side-to-side, guys control foot height ⚓ Flying angles — best between the 120s°, can fly as high as 90° relative ⚓ The douse — comms, shackle release, sock down, halyard down We’ve flown “Big Purple” before, but this lesson was about balance and confidence. Even though Dennis wasn’t aboard, Phil was in Greece as we passed south — and I had to step in. My Love Bug 💜🐞 reflection? Sailing teaches us to own our triggers, protect each other when we’re flooded, and always return to the calm at the helm. 📧 Want our wind-angle PDF? Email us at gtfoplan@gmail.com. #GTFOplan #SVGTFO #ZoomSails #SpinnakerLesson Phil at ZoomSails.com ------------------------------------- ♪ Tears (Prod. by MX Audio Library) Link : • Tears - No Copyright Music Sad Emotional B... ------------------------------------- Watch the “Sailing with Six” - where they tested a parasailor against a spinnaker, which lead to the decision to go for a spinnaker, as it disproved a lot of the marketing points of the parasail. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GnQloaemoL8 CURRENT LOCATION: https://forecast.predictwind.com/tracking/display/SV-GTFO/ ABOUT OUR CATAMARAN: We love our new Balance 482 - it's a perfect size for a cruising couple to handle and is a great "balance" of performance and comfort. One of our favorite features is the excellent ventilation since we mostly live as "hookers" (aka at anchor) where the boat automatically turns into the wind so we stay cool and we don't need to battle mold. We also have starlink for easy off-grid life. Our 2400 watt solar panel array also means we rarely need to run an engine to charge our batteries. ABOUT US: We saved for a our future boat, sold everything that we owned, and shipped the rest in a container to Cape Town, South Africa. We then flew there and explored South Africa by way of a safari and touring Cape Town before moving aboard our boat. We then sailed to Saint Helena, Ascension Island, Fernando de Naronha (Brazil), Martinique, Sint Maarten (Dutch and French side), the US Virgin Islands (Saint Croix, Saint John, and Saint Thomas), the British Virgin Islands (Anegada, Norman Island, Jost van Dyke, and Anegada), The Bahamas (Inagua, Crooked Island, Long Island, George Town, Staniel Cay, the Exumas, and Eleuthera). We then sailed back to the United States, making landfall in Cape Canaveral, Florida. From there our destinations are endless! Both Dennis and Ann grew up military brats with Army fathers. Dennis (the Colonel) served 30 years in the US Army and his retirement pension helped us retire in our 50s. Ann (the ship's Captain) wrote Test Automation in Python and Java. Dennis and Ann met on Match.com where Ann had in her profile "Do you want to sail the world with me?" Ann easily brought Dennis into sailing, and he loved the GTFOplan of retiring early and sailing the world. After many years of saving, living on one income but earning two, and cutting back on everything possible, they saved enough to buy a Balance 482. Follow them as they get real about boat life and all the hassles of buying a new boat because we all know N.E.W. means Not Everything Works. To get power on our raw land, we had to completely change our plans — and build a workshop/house before the dream home. Join Thrive Market today by going to https://ThriveMarket.com/ProjectAtticus and receive 30% off your first order AND a free gift! PLUS shop 25% off hundreds of top products this week before the sale ends on September 20th! #thrivemarketpartner What started as installing a 400-amp meter base quickly led us to rethinking everything about our first build on the property. Instead of building the trailer shelter we had planned, we realized it made more sense to design a two-story, 20×30 workshop/house we could live in now and later use as our permanent shop, office, and guest space. It’s a huge pivot, but one that solves our immediate problems and sets up the homestead long term. In this episode, I pour concrete for the first time to set the posts for our meter base, work through the design of the workshop/house, and bring in my construction buddy Cody to see if it’s even possible to fit this structure on our small build site. After six months of living the Tahitian dream, it's time to set sail once more! We're leaving the gentle embrace of Tahiti and motoring over to nearby Moorea for a final farewell before pointing our bow west. Our destination: the Leeward Islands, and the start of our fifth sailing season. We were eager to get underway, but the weather had other plans. Would our first overnight passage in over half a year be a pleasant journey or a chaotic challenge? Join us as we navigate the unpredictable waters of French Polynesia and find out what our next adventure has in store! NEW TO OUR CHANNEL? We are Eileen and Brown Councill. Welcome to our channel and a glimpse into our life adventure! 2020 was a year of uncertainty and change (for all of us, right?), but we overcame the challenges and decided it was time to chase our dream, to sail around the world! Did I mention that we had very NO sailing experience? Before leaving Qingdao, China, our home of 4 years, we sold almost all of our earthly possessions and started our international search to find the right sailboat that we would call "home." After 5 months of unanticipated twists and turns, we found what we were looking for, a used Leopard 44' Catamaran located in St. Lucia. So, here begins our journey, filled with unmatched excitement and honestly, a bit of trepidation as well. We have much to learn as we travel the world on our floating home and we intend to document that journey and share it with you. We are so glad you have decided to join us, and we hope that you will find our story so compelling that it will inspire you to chase your dreams too! As a viewer, we consider you to be part of our family and look forward to getting to know you. Don't hesitate to comment on our videos and ask questions. We will do our best to answer every correspondence! All we ask is that you have patience with us as we work really hard to improve our camera/video techniques and ability to tell a story. Hopefully, you will be as BLOWN AWAY from watching, as we are in experiencing and producing our adventures! HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT US? If you wish to support our video efforts, all we ask is that you SUBSCRIBE, give a THUMBS UP, SHARE our videos with your friends, AND COMMENT! WOULD YOU LIKE TO GET TO KNOW US MORE DEEPLY? It would be an honor and pleasure to deepen our relationship with you as a Patron. This episode will mark our first week as the new owners of an abandoned Catamaran - a boat that has never yet had the chance to glide across oceans. After over a decade on the hardstand and almost 4 different owners, this Kelsall KSS 58 couldn't be more deserving of a new chapter. But before we can even think to begin to write it, we need to know the truth - why has she been left on the hard for so long? What went so wrong for the previous owners? How can such a beautiful vessel travel less than 2 miles up a river in her over 10yrs of existence? Amongst these questions, we're also met with adversary. Although we bought her at a fair auction, this week we've faced some hard truths. Not everyone is happy for us...and a boatyard is a place that requires friendships and networks. Join us this episode as we dig a little deeper into a story best forgotten, and look forward to a story not yet written 💙 We’re a little behind on our videos - we’re just having too much fun!
