Today I take the Hobie Compass Kayak, "F/V Sabine", down to National City and launch into Sweetwater Channel. I paddle across South Bay to Coronado Cays and Loews to throw some swim baits. I also fish at the commercial ship docks and ultimately find several good tugs revealing some good fishing in South Bay! See what I catch today. I fishing an Abu Garcia Ambassador reel and a small Okuma spinning reel. I have most luck with a tandem rig, set with a 3/8oz underspin swim bait at the bottom and a pink gulp a little higher. In part one you saw us realize that we had a serious issue, as we completely lost rig tension. Well, this episode reveals the actual cause of this, how we found it, and some ideas as to why it happened. The main bulkhead which supports the mast has cracked, and the hulls have moved outwards, causing the rig to go completely slack. At the same time, the bridge deck has collapsed, and the salon floor is now floating above the hull. This is going to need one hell of a repair... Wir sind beinahe ohne Segelerfahrung auf diese Reise aufgebrochen. Das erste mal ablegen mit der Eira, war am Tag, an dem die Reise begonnen hat. Bislang haben wir die Biskaya überquert, schwere Situationen in Spanien und Portugal gemeistert, den Atlantik in 22 Tagen überquert und wir haben es geschafft unseren Motor auf Guadeloupe zu reparieren. Jetzt geht unser Weg weiter richtung Westen. Die nächsten 2 1/2 Jahre werden wir nutzen um den Pazifik zu durchqueren, den indonesischen Raum zu erkunden und letztendlich nach der Umrundung des Kap der guten Hoffnungen wieder Fuß auf europäisches Land zu setzen. It had been a red hot minute since Nakama came out of the water, closer to 2 years... poor girl was feeling a bit sluggish dragging around what looked like a garden bed on her belly. We figured it was about time we saved our pennies and book her in to be slipped. we count our stars that we did as it turns out Nakama needed much more attention then just a coat of paint. Over the next 3 days we pushed ourselves and our greasy little elbows to the limit trying to get all the repairs that came to light sorted in the limited time we had. Depois de uma noite, de ventos Oeste, que deixam a ancoragem, em Alter, mexida. Zarpamos, MinaMaria e eu, rumo a Santarém. Velada com ventos de popa, em grande parte das 18 milhas, com motor na parte final. Muitos botos a nossa volta, o que deixava a Mina toda agitada. Ela percebe a presença, deles, bem antes. O Tapajós chegando no nível mais baixo, o que ocorre no fim de Nov. Está deixando exposto às belas praias e bancos de areia. Gostando, deixe o like, comente e compartilhe. Hey there! So we made it to Fort Mcree and it was pretty awesome! We would have never been able to explore this place if Babaloo didnt tell us about this spot. The charts showed 4 ft but it was easily 10 ft or more ! I would have loved to do a photo shoot in the fort but Its much harder to be the photographer and the model :) Maybe one day we will return and ill find someone to model in there for me :) Anywho!
