We wanted the atolls, but three days beating upwind from Guam? Nope lol. So we let the wind take us downwind, straight to Palau. Out spearfishing with the boys, and somehow in the chaos of fish and fins, they left Alexandra floating out there on her own. My heart stopped when I realized, but lucky I’d never taken my eyes off her from the helm. Guys, we recently dropped anchor inside a volcano. Yep, that’s right, Maug is this ring of three little islands in the Northern Marianas, and together they form the rim of a sunken crater. So technically, we’re floating right in the middle of an ancient eruption. The water here is insanely clear, and the walls of the volcano just plunge down beneath us. Wrecks don’t always hide beneath the waves and today we stumbled upon the most beautiful shipwreck washed up on a nearby atoll. Weathered by salt and sun, our boys explored every inch of this old Japanese fishing vessel. It was hard to find out any information about this one, so if you know anything please let Riles and I know in the comments!
