The outer most islands in Fiji, Vulaga & Ogea are hands down, heaven on earth! The village was a great cultural visit with beautiful friendly people. The diving is next level. And of course, the blue water lagoons are the best we have ever seen. We are getting very low on food but loving life and the company of other sailors in the tropical wilderness!

Although many people will know Medway Yacht club for the one design and handicap sailboat racing that it organises a large percentage of the membership prefer the cruising life. As a way of introducing these members to the joys of racing, every year a more informal race is organised. This traditional takes us down river, out into the estuary and around the wreck of the SS Montgomery, the old WW2 supply ship that sunk just off of Sheppy and that still has thousands of tons of high explosives on board! Its never been taken that seriously and this year it was even more informal than normal. But with the forecast of next to no wind that wasnt a bad thing We make these films just for fun, and we hope that you have enjoyed watching them however we have been asked on a couple of occasions now if we have a Paytreon account. The world's biggest regatta of its kind is back and after the first day's racing all anyone wanted to talk about was how good it was to be back. Like so many events that fell foul of the global pandemic, last year's Cowes Week had to be cancelled, but this year the huge range of fleets that meks this event so special were back. Matt Sheahan was back out on the water in the B&G commentary boat and loving it.

Given the forecast for very light breezes, today was a bonus day as the wind sat at around 10 knots and set the scene for some great racing across all of the fleets. After 2 years of water worries, Collecting rainwater, and scavenging to find waterfalls, rivers and hoses to allow us to take on 4700 Liters of liquid gold. Sylfia gets a much needed upgrade. A WATER MAKER!!! This machine take sea water and turns it into cool crisp drinking water and best of all we can finally shower often haha. Dans le petit bourg de Sainte Anne rien n’a changé depuis notre dernier passage, pas même l’éclatante eau de la baie. Quel bonheur de pouvoir s’y baigner ! Il doit bien y avoir plus de trois cent voiliers et des bananas, ici, il y en a ! Nous sommes sollicités de toutes parts. Incroyable ! Et plus nous rencontrons, plus nous nous rendons compte à quel point notre aventure est devenue au fils des mois celle de tous ceux qui nous suivent. Notre intention de départ était de partager un peu de notre petite expérience et de démontrer que tout est réalisable quand on le veut vraiment, aujourd’hui, il semble que notre concept est dépassé, sans nous en être aperçu, notre dessein. On nous parle de démystificateurs de navigation ou encore d’inspirateurs au grand voyage, quel honneur ! Quel honneur de croiser ceux avec qui nous communiquons depuis plus d’un an, ceux pour qui le rêve devient réalité, nos « fans » et nos lecteurs. J’ai même la surprise d’être sollicitée pour des autographes sur « Hisser les voiles jusqu’au bout de ses rêves » ! Nous sommes choyés et gâtés, bienveillance qui nous fait prendre avec un peu de détachement, le déplaisir de voir notre annexe crevée ! La pauvre s’est faite malencontreusement lacérer sur plus de trois centimètres ! Côté nouvelles contrariantes, nous ne sommes pas en reste avec la formation rapide d’un des premiers systèmes dépressionnaires de la saison sur les Antilles, Elsa. C’est en fait la cinquième tempête batisée depuis le début de la saison officielle, mais celle-ci semble bien vouloir faire parler d’elle. Première fois en 15 ans que nous sommes confrontés au choix d’une décision de protection pour un tel phénomène et c’est là que je mesure encore plus, le rôle de responsabilité de mon capitaine. Il a sur ses épaules la lourde tâche de nous protéger, nous et notre Black Lion. Mais entre nous, les choses ont été mises au clair dès le début de nos voyages, jamais, s’il devait arriver un malheur à notre Blacky, je mettrai la faute sur mon skipper. C’est une question de confiance et ma façon à moi de le soutenir et le soulager dans ses décisions. We test out our stowing anchor system and then settle down for a discussion about our carbon fibre rotating wing mast. It's another recycling project that we have not yet shared with you all in any detail. Rescued from the rubbish, this is a mast with a bit of history. It is the old America's Cup Team New Zealand rig from the 2000 campaign which made its way to Spain to compete as the French challenger in 2007. Hopefully, this will give those of you who are interested, an insight into how a professional rigger sets up his mast configuration on his own boat.
