Setting up two amplifiers and a capacitor to power a DC bus bar distribution center. As opposed to wiring everything to the capacitor, this is a much safer and cleaner option. In addition, you will be able to expand your car audio system in the future. Parts And Tools Used: 4 Post Power Distribution Block Bus Bar Pair - https://amzn.to/3CHTQLN Battery Cable wire Lug Crimping Tool with Cable Cutter - https://amzn.to/3i4YdZk AWG Copper Wire Lugs with Heat Shrink Set - https://amzn.to/3kC9v9c SoundBox SCAP2D, 2.5 Farad Digital Capacitor - https://amzn.to/3obEJGj In most cases, when wiring up a bus bar, heavy gauge wire comes from the battery and lighter gauge wires are used to connect accessories. As a result, your accessories, in our case stereo amplifiers, will have the power they need to run effectively. Underpowering your accessories can shorten their life and who wants that. Read On Our Blog: https://www.chrisdoeswhat.com/setting-up-multiple-amplifiers-and-capacitor-to-dc-bus-bars/ We wired our monoblock amplifier for our subwoofers with the same gauge as our battery supply cable. The additional power that the amp required was compensated for by wiring a capacitor to the bus bar. Additionally, capacitors extend the life of the battery since they minimize power spikes. Once the bus bar has been installed, do a final check to make sure everything is tight. In order not to blow a fuse, we disconnected the capacitor positive cable from the bus bar. We then connected the battery that was powering everything but the capacitor and made sure that everything worked. Once we are sure there are no issues, we can now charge and connect our capacitor to the bus bar. To do this we used jumper cables connecting the positive cable to the battery. Using the other side of the positive jumper cable, we connected it to the positive wire on the capacitor. Sparks fly and the capacitor is charged. It can now be connected to the bus bar. Using this method is much faster than using a resistor, and you will not blow the inline fuse at the battery. 00:00 Setting Up Multiple Amplifiers And Capacitor To DC Bus Bars 01:26 Disconnect Car Battery And Discharge Capacitor 02:02 Making Ground Cable For Bus Bar 05:56 Connecting Capacitor to Bus Bar 07:36 Wiring Up Amplifiers 09:30 Running Positive Cable From Battery To Bus Bar In Jeep 10:30 Separate Audio Cables From Power Cables 11:51 How To Charge Audio Capacitor Easy 12:57 Our Thoughts Of the Install And Banter 17:36 Bloopers And Outtakes Tools We Love: Milwaukee 18-Volt Drill and Impact Driver Kit: https://amzn.to/366BwxM Husky Mechanics Tool Set: https://amzn.to/3kuGUzD Angle Grinder https://amzn.to/36FaC09 Forney Easy Weld Welder https://amzn.to/3romDR1 Welding Helmet https://amzn.to/3wOq58z You can also follow us on our blog: https://www.chrisdoeswhat.com/subscribe/ Or go directly to cooking: https://www.dininginwithdanielle.com Support us by shopping through our Affiliate Links! There is a misconception that being a Yacht Broker is all about hanging around luxurious boats in exotic destinations. While that is true for some not all of us have that luxury. On this video I show you a day in the life. Today we were picking up a 1997 Hunter. 376. This is a situation where the husband passed away and we are trying to help the widow deal with the sale of the boat. A friend of the family had sent us pictures of the boat which look good, so we decided to take on the job. The boat was located in Venice Yacht Club and we had to move it to Regatta Pointe Marina in Palmetto, FL. This is a 6.5 - 7 hr trip. Now we have not physically seen the boat. So I brought Capt Danny Blankenship with me to run the boat to Regatta Pointe. The challenge with taking on boats site unseen, is that you do not really know what you are going to find. Will the boat be a derelict boat, will the engine start, if the engine start will it be reliable enough to get us back to Regatta Pointe. All of these are more are questions that run through your head whenever you take on this type of activity. Once you get the boat over, what condition will be it in? There are boxes upon boxes of stuff we will have to sort through to get to a point where we can make a good assessment on the boat. So thank you for joining me and allowing me to share a day in my life with you.
In this episode, we get back to exploring the seas of Mexico. We repair the 11KVA Onan Cummins genset whilst at anchor. After this tough repair we head Northerly in light winds. Remember; it is the light wind performance that is equally, if not more important than storm sailing (fuel consumption). Important for the wallet too! As always, we try to break it up with some hints and tips. We address the opinion of a catamaran salesman..... albeit briefly Dedicated to our friends Arthur and his wife Loretta. "Carry on!". James, Evangelina and Elbe. PS. Thanks for all your helpful comments and advice.
Its not quite as bad as it sounds but if we didn't have to leave, we wouldn't have. The wind had been blowing over 20 for the last 4 days, and from the south west, the direction we had to travel in. Today it was still blowing over 20 but had switched around to a true west. Far from ideal but at least it wasn't completely on the nose and it would be our last chance to get home in time for an operation that Hannah was due to have. So this was it, if we were going to get Hannah home in time on board Daphi, then we had to leave NOW. We make these films just for fun, and we hope that you have enjoyed watching them however we have been asked on a couple of occasions now if we have a Patreon account. We don’t want to do that at this stage as we feel it would turn the channel into a business, and as we said at the beginning, this is all just for fun. However if you would like to support us and feel you could help contribute to the cost of making these films then you can do that via our PayPal account here. This summer I spent most of July working remotely from Anchorage and squeezing in as many adventures and excursions as time would allow. These were a few of my favorite memories from a few of the weekends I had to explore Seward, Kenai Fjords, Exit Glacier, and Byron Glacier. The Sea Otters were one of the highlights of the trip for me as they are one of my all-time favorite creatures.

To really know a place, you first have to know the people. Lucky for us, our friends Steve and Denyse in Curacao were keen to show us around and introduce us to parts of Curacao we would have never seen on our own. From hidden bars, to iguana cookouts, to off-road adventures, they gave us an unforgettable experience. Although we were loving our time in Curacao, we were ready to sail again, so we snuck in one last scuba dive before preparing for our next big passage. Today we took a ride through the harbour inside the Panama Canal and visited the Shipwreck graveyard... If those ships could talk I'll be there'd be some good stories! After that we found out from ePropulsion that there must be a problem with our electric drive system as they said we should be going faster than 6.5kts at full power, so they recommended we switched to one of the other propellors they sent us for testing... who would have thought that we'd gain an additional 50% boat speed just with a different prop! We are Ben and MP! Recently we decided to purchase a two-masted 70ft wooden schooner in Brazil. The fun detail about our story is that the boat we bought was sinking and relying on many bilge pumps to survive so we had to lift it onto the dry to start a full refit. Once the boat was lifted (for the first time in her life) we realized that the works needed were a lot more than expected. Between bailing or accepting the challenge, we decided to go for the second option. Watch us as we bring Yabá back to life with the help of an amazing team of traditional shipwrights, sharing every phase of the process, overcoming the highs and lows and having fun along the way. This week we step back in time and cover a few projects we did between getting the soles down - including adding the forward webbing to our bridge deck, which will eventually become our water tanks. One of the main things, was glassing down the forward webbing on the bridge deck. Part of it is just for support, but the larger compartments, between bulkheads 4&5, will eventually be the spaces for our windlass/anchor chain, as well as our two water tanks (as far as we're planning right now). We also have it confirmed that a new shipment of vinyl ester resin is on its way, so we get busy working on another project which requires it, which is bonding the inner seam of where the hull sides were attached in July. We hope you enjoy! Much love from Annapolis! Jessica, Matt & Georgie Link to our boat: https://maxcruisemarine.com/max42sc-sailing-catamaran/ Thank you SO MUCH to our Patrons.
