Not only did the dolphins play in our bow, but we were safely able to help our adult guests to snorkel with them from a safe distance. Captain James is an experienced dolphin wrangler, a skill he developed in the Bahamas while working aboard the Ocean Explorer. Wanting to avoid crowds, they booked a private catamaran tour with us. We spent the day together sailing, snorkeling, grilling & chilling. In this video, we visit an iconic site on Bonaire: 1,000 Steps. It is both a popular snorkel and dive spot on the island, named for the many steps you must climb up/down to reach the beach. Bonaire's Reef is a protected marine park and we were the only boat on site! We hopped off the boat and went for an amazing snorkel where we saw some of our favorites: trumpet fish, turtle and (Julia's favorite) a scrawled file fish. Yesterday we had the opportunity to host Jenny as she and her family celebrated 40 years of living. When Jenny was born, doctors said she would not live past the age of 15?but here she is today, snorkeling on Bonaire with her mom, dad, and teenage daughter! And it felt like the universe conspired to give her an amazing day? The skies were beautiful. The moorings on Klein Bonaire opened up for us, one-by-one, to enjoy crystal clear waters for snorkeling; Jenny's favorite activity, and the reason she chose Bonaire for her celebration. And we all witnessed one of the most intense green flash sunsets we'd ever seen. These are the days we love. The days we get to play a small part in someone's story. To help them celebrate their victories, reflect on a life well-lived, and dream about the future.
