Um dia encontramos uns amigos Velejadores e junto tinha outras pessoas, e em uma conversa sobre travessia conversei sobre a alimentação, como fazer para ter carne a bordo por vários dias, mesmo com geladeira, não é possível armazenar grande quantidade, aí que uma delas falou que fazia carne em conserva, eu já tinha ouvido falar mas nunca fiz porque achava arriscado estragar, mas ai que tem uma técnica específica para isso. We witness firsthand the devastating impact of washed-up waste, predominantly plastic, ropes, and lost fishing nets, which threaten the island's stunning beaches. While dedicated volunteer groups periodically clean up these shores, the sheer volume of debris that continues to arrive remains overwhelming. We are Kathrin and Daniel sailing, cruising and living aboard our sailing yacht SV Polaris Helvetica, a 14m Bavaria Cruiser 46 from 2017. We left our native Switzerland and moved to the UK almost two decades ago. In 2021, in our mid 50-ies and after our three boys left the nest we made the big decision to leave the rat race in London and to make our beloved sailboat our primary floating residence. Over the years we added a generator, got rid of the propane gas cooker and replaced it with an electric stove and oven, changed our house battery bank to Lithium (LiFePo, Lithium Iron Phospate), added a 1,200W solar arch and a water maker. With these upgrades Polaris is now a comfortable home allowing us to cruise the coast of the United Kingdom and, most recently, Scoland, in comfort, summer and winter. Kathrin loves to cook and bake on board, you will see some of her cookery wonders across our episodes, and makes good use of her Thermomix cooker. We totally fell in love with our new lifestyle although we had to make some tough decisions. We vacated our rental house in London and sold and gave away all our furniture and belongings that had no space on Polaris. It is a very liberating feeling to be able to say that all we own is with us on our small sailing boat. There's nothing else to care about. We enjoy our freedom and exploring new places, discovering their history and we love making new friends along our way.

En este vídeo vamos a ver helicópteros, vamos a ver cómo pongo la luz obligatoria en el chaleco salvavidas, vamos a ver un ejemplo Real del temido moco en el gasoil y además estaremos muy atentos a la desaparición de una persona en kayak y su búsqueda por salvamento marítimo. El famoso moco que había dentro de la garrafa de gasoil lo veis Así se ve no más que llevo el filtro en el embudo algo que os quería enseñar cuando si recordáis el vídeo del cambio de legislación la nueva ley náutica obligaba a llevar unas luces en el chaleco salvavida entonces en los chalecos que son los típicos naranjas de toda la vida no hay problema porque las luces se enganchan con facilidad pero en estos lados inflables o la inflables es más complicado entonces Os cuento cómo lo hago yo con un velcro lo enganchado a un arraigo que tiene el tubo para soplar por si la bomba de gas fallara entonces en el momento en que el chaleco caiga al agua y yo lo dispare se abre y esto queda a la altura más o menos que estáis viendo aquí y la luz también y al contacto con el agua estas luces lo que hacen es que al contacto con el agua se encienden no entonces creo que es una muy buena forma el velcro le da se queda bastante fijo O sea que no hay problema y en caso de que se disparara el chaleco o lo disparase yo se quedaría la luz aquí con lo que se vería o por lo menos al menos se vería hacia donde yo mirase así que creo que es una solución bastante apañada No sé qué os parece si alguien se le ocurre algo mejor que me lo diga pues en un principio Pensé en coserla por algún sitio pero claro no una buena idea aguja en un chaleco auto inflable a que no Entonces creo que esta es una buena solución además es muy cómodo porque no se me engancha simplemente con una mano me cuesta pero simplemente con el velcro no se queda tapado como veis no estorba para nada y en cuanto el chaleco se dispare pues la luz saldría con el chaleco acabo de escuchar por el canal 16 un Pam Pam Y es que resulta que se ha perdido una persona con un kayak en la inmediaciones de Cabo tiñoso bueno para el final el viento ha levantado un poquito y vamos de ceñida bien todo el trapo arriba Quiero quiero dar las gracias @salvamentomaritimo , hacer un reconocimiento público porque hacen una labor increíble a los Navegantes nos dan una tranquilidad y una seguridad espectacular la gente hace una labor estupenda y hacen que sobre todo los solitarios navegamos con mucha más paz que parece que no pero es importante para nosotros sabes que yo están ahí ante cualquier inconveniente van a salir en nuestra ayuda en nuestra búsqueda a nuestro rescate y desde aquí quiero dar las gracias a salvamento marítimo por la labor que hace Muchas gracias a todos me habían avisado de que el puerto de Cartagena en el Mar Mediterráneo impresiona al entrar lo que no imaginaba es que me impresionarían la cantidad de buques de guerra Que aquí hay. alucinante ve a estos navíos del ejército.

Como algunos ya sabéis, nuestra aventura hasta Dublín finalizó en agosto y todos los vídeos que estamos subiendo hasta la fecha son pasados. Nos hubiese encantado poder ir subiéndolos en directo pero la edición consume muchísimo tiempo... Pero no os preocupéis que contenido nunca va a faltar, la segunda fase de la restauración viene justo después de llegar a Irlanda! Volviendo al vídeo: Llegamos a Nazaré despues de una larga travesía desde Sines, bastante en contra de nuestro plan inicial que incluía más tiempo a dedicar al turismo en lugares que finalmente no paramos. Pero esta ciudad nos encantó. Nazaré tiene una playa espectacular llena de vida en verano, gran cantidad de bares y restaurantes y vida nocturna. Y el mirador de arriba del todo es espectacular, así como el faro de los surfistas. Pero solo nos dió tiempo para una breve visita ya que el día siguiente ya partimos rumbo norte. De nuevo dos días de navegación, dediciendo dejar atrás los puertos de Figueira da Foz y Matusinhos para ir rumbo directo a Galicia y así recuperar tiempo perdido en nuestra subida del sur de Portugal. Mucho motor pero no faltó diversión con Toni, nuestro segundo a bordo! Esperamos que os guste, un abrazo familia!

DETENIDO EN CÍES. Todo por atracar un barco de pasajeros en el muelle de Rodas. Una tarde de verano de 1999 de la que nunca me olvidaré. La ría de Vigo vivía tiempos convulsos. Dos navieras se disputaban los servicios de transporte de pasajeros, tanto a las islas Cíes como los servicios de Vigo a Cangas y Vigo a Moaña. Ese día, sin saberlo se iba a disputar la gran batalla. Íbamos a bloquear el muelle de Rodas y ningún pasajero podría abandonar la isla. Esto causó emociones y violencia. Al final de la jornada acabé detenido durmiendo en un calabozo. Episode 6 We had a lightning storm on the horizon, projected at 30 knots at first. We have been here before, the last storm projected 35 and resulted in 53 knots with the katabatic winds so we knew we needed to prepare the boat for a strong blow. The reality is boat life isn’t easy and it takes a lot of extra work, strong nerves and positive energy. This episode is all about showing how we prepare for the storm and ride it out.
