Teak rubrail restoration happens in this video...and then adding some bling! The bling is of course her stainless rubrail, which is fixed atop her teak! We began this project approx 25months ago, with our dear friend Jason. We HAD to remove her rubrails to access her chainplate bolts...remember? Well, in this episode we wrap that up, it has been a LONG time coming! @FishUnderSail We touch base at the end of the episode, and a "Cockpit Confession" is coming soon!

#Caiçara #PescaArtesanal #VidaNoMar #JorgeMiguel #HashtagSal #Cortes #Veleiro
Making the frame for our sliding solar panels lighter. Also yesterdays dinghy adventure was more exiting than we anticipated. A few quiet days flying over Raroia Atoll. Hard to describe how blue the water really is out here. Just reefs, little islands, and almost nobody around. One of those places that doesn’t feel real until you see it from above. 🌊✈️

Day 42 & 43 of the 75 Hard Challenge and still going strong! 💪 Apologies for combining two days into one video, but yesterday turned into another really busy one onboard. Despite that, everything still got completed — workouts, water, reading, diet, and progress photos. No excuses. This morning started with a kettlebell workout followed by a 20-minute run session, while Jen continued smashing her Couch to 10K programme on the track. Both of us are feeling stronger, fitter, and more focused as we move further into the challenge. One of the biggest lessons from 75 Hard is that discipline starts replacing motivation. You stop negotiating with yourself and simply get things done, even on the busy or difficult days. That mindset shift alone makes this challenge worth it. If you’re doing 75 Hard alongside us, keep pushing forward one day at a time. And if the full challenge feels too much, remember that consistency with smaller goals can still completely transform your lifestyle. #75Hard #FitnessJourney #WeightLossJourney #Discipline #Motivation #Workout #Running #KettlebellWorkout #SelfImprovement #MentalToughness #HealthyLifestyle #Transformation #NoExcuses #FitnessOver50 #75HardChallenge #Consistency #Mindset #CouchTo10K #FitnessMotivation #DailyDiscipline ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you found it informative or entertaining please give it a thumbs as it helps get YouTube to promote it outside of the existing subscribers. This is the maiden voyage of a round boat called ROCINANTE! In preparation for a 10 day river rafting trip, we took the round boat out to shake her down. What better way to do it than with your brother-in-laws on a perfect spring day! The Main Payette River is a classic Idaho whitewater river with plenty of pool and drop rapids ranging from Class II to Class III. It is an ideal training ground for kayakers and the perfect stretch for families and first-time rafters. We put-in at Banks which sits at the confluence of the Payette’s North Fork and South Fork.

Before the epoxy, before the stain, before the water, there is the fairing. That long, quiet conversation between the builder and the hull. As a sculptor I've always felt more at home reading a surface with my hands than my eyes. The block plane finding its voice, the rhythm of the longboard, the moment when the tool disappears and there's nothing left but the wood telling you the truth about itself. It's a long one folks! (And if you started watching it May 24 I apologize, the audio at the end was not great, but it is not fixed so you can CLEARLY hear Scott's conclusions!) If you like watching Scott problem solve and work on a project while improvising in remote Alaska, you'll enjoy the suspense and ingenuity of this video . A remote homestead in Southeast Alaska needed our help! A broken excavator stranded on the beach, and one very stubborn repair mission. During this episode, Scott paddleboards ashore from our sailboat the Alaskan Gypsy with tools in a dry bag to help a friend whose John Deere excavator is not operating, at all. What started as a suspected starter replacement turned into days of troubleshooting, cramped spaces, mystery wiring, fuel shutoff solenoids, and full-on backwoods mechanic mode. In remote Alaska there’s no easy call to the dealership. No roadside service. Just determination, improvisation, and figuring it out one bolt at a time. This is the kind of work and problem solving that quietly keeps remote Alaska moving. Helping friends out in their quest to self reliant living is a win-win Alaskan Gypsy experience. Progress on the schooner – here's a recap and update on the traditionally-built John Alden-designed MALABAR IV. Cornwall-based boatbuilder Ben Harris discusses the reality of getting this new-build schooner commissioned in time to compete in the 2027 Fastnet. Ben also discusses the original and modified interior plans, noting that this stage of the build is an opportune time for a buyer to make their mark on the yacht's specifications to suit their needs and preferences. Footage shows a jovial team, overseen by Ben, fitting more planks ahead of the next major milestone: the whisky plank party, which will be in the next episode. This project is presented FOR SALE – now is the perfect opportunity for a buyer to design and build the interior and rig to their specifications.

Three sailors. Three impossible survival stories. ⚓ Joshua Slocum — sailed the world alone… but couldn’t swim. ⚓ Donald Crowhurst — faked his voyage and vanished forever. ⚓ Jessica Watson — survived storms that flipped her boat seven times. Modern offshore race yachts are no longer driven by wind alone, they become alive. Beneath the deck lies an entire technological ecosystem: autopilots steering across oceans, sensors monitoring loads and performance in real time, radar and artificial intelligence helping detect obstacles at sea, and complex energy systems powering life onboard for weeks at a time. Every component must communicate reliably, operate efficiently under extreme conditions, withstand impacts, saltwater and humidity, and fit within tight constraints of weight, power consumption and space. Behind the scenes, sailors, engineers, technical partners and designers work together to build an onboard environment capable of supporting both performance and safety offshore. In this episode, we take you for a dive into the cutting-edge onboard technology that makes this race yacht come alive. Missed the first 4 episodes ?
