Options shows beautifully due to the continual attention and care she receives. Options is a 2011 model year and hull number 30 in the Selene 58 series. She is a double side configuration. Day 9 at sea. 🌊 Today has been a calmer day, and the wind is supposed to die completely later, so I’ve been taking the chance to get some things done onboard. Cooked some food for the next days and finally started tackling the mess inside the boat… which I really don’t enjoy doing, but at some point it simply has to happen. One thing that has made life a lot easier out here is the salt water pump I installed in the sink. I use seawater to wash the dishes and only rinse the stainless steel utensils with fresh water afterwards. Small things like that make a huge difference when you live on a boat for weeks. Later in the day I noticed the autopilot wasn’t behaving properly. Since I’m getting closer to France now, I would very much like the boat to keep going in a straight line without me having to hand steer all the way there. So… out came the drill. I drilled a hole and added a pin to try to stabilize the handle a bit more and improve the steering. Very scientific boat engineering happening out here. Overall though, it’s been a really good day. Day 45 of the 75 Hard Challenge complete! 💪🔥 This morning’s workout was a 45-minute walk/run session, although the majority of it turned into running. I left it a bit later than planned and the heat was definitely kicking in, as you’ll see in today’s video, but I pushed through and got it done. The biggest positive right now is my knee. For the first time in a long while it genuinely feels like it’s improving. The swelling has reduced, movement feels better, and I’m finally starting to get some confidence back with the running again. Still taking it steady, still listening to the body, but progress is progress. Everything else is on track onboard: ✅ Workouts complete ✅ Water intake on target ✅ Reading done ✅ Diet clean ✅ Progress photo taken One day at a time. One step at a time. Welcome back to another episode of WE|Sail. EPISODE 342 After nearly a month exploring the remote Yasawa Islands—anchored in secluded spots, living off-grid, limited access to supplies—we're pulling into Port Denarau Marina on Fiji's main island, Viti Levu. This is our first fuel stop in nine months, our first real resupply run, and our first chance to tackle the boat project list with access to a well-stocked yacht chandlery, restaurants, laundry facilities, and all the amenities we've been without. This isn't a "how-to" on efficient sailing—it's a glimpse into what marina life looks like after extended remote cruising. We're fueling up, restocking provisions, fixing fishing rods, upgrading boat systems (including improvements to the Cook Hook we built in Australia), doing laundry, and yes—enjoying the luxury of eating food we didn't cook ourselves. About Port Denarau Marina: Port Denarau is Fiji's main cruising hub and the gateway for sailors arriving or departing the country. ► While on a testing and reporting tour in southern Brittany, Multihulls World had the opportunity to visit the facilities of electric motor manufacturer Temo. ► The company’s story began in Nantes in 2018, driven by Alexandre Seux and Justine Perussel. One year later, the famous Temo450 - also known as the electric sculling oar - was launched. The young company moved to Vannes in 2023 while expanding its product range with the Temo1000 in 2024, followed last year by the Outpod1000 and Pod1000 pods, both also available in 3000 (3 kW) versions. Luc Joessel, one of the sales managers, presented all these products to us in the showroom: “We have already sold 7,500 units worldwide!” ► The site, staffed by 23 employees, also includes a large open-plan office space. Luc then guided us through a spacious communal area to the workshop where all the motors are manufactured - except for the 450. This is also where Temo products are serviced. “They come with a 3-year warranty, and all components are replaceable,” Justine explained. A look back at the very first edition of the Nautitech Raid. On 2 and 3 April 2026, La Rochelle hosted the first edition of the Nautitech Raid: two days of adventure, sailing and sharing the Nautitech experience. More than just a sea trial, this unique event gave catamaran enthusiasts the chance to enjoy an immersive experience in real sailing conditions, alongside the Nautitech teams and sailing experts. Day 12 of our sail from the USA to South America… and this is where the crossing starts to get rough. After finally reaching stronger winds out in the Caribbean Sea, the conditions quickly deteriorate and our headsail completely shreds offshore. With over 30 knots of wind, building swell, and no fuel left to rely on, we’re forced to drag the sail down on a violently rolling deck and attempt repairs in the middle of the ocean. Exhausted, sleep deprived, sea sick, and running purely on adrenaline, this turned into one of the hardest days we’ve faced aboard Escapade so far. Even Tom — who has never been sea sick before — finally reaches his limit while helping repair the sail down below. To make things worse, we get caught in a nasty squall with winds of 45 knots as the reality of offshore sailing really begins to hit. ► Founded just five years ago, the Astus Boat Club association now brings together around 60 Astus trimaran owners and has recently introduced a Trophy system rewarding participation and results in various regattas open to multihulls rated under the Multi 2000 rule. ► In this context, Pierre Breban, president of the association, invited me to take part as media crewman aboard the Golfe Morbihan Tour, an event particularly technical when it comes to current management. Currents can be extremely strong in this area, while numerous counter-currents can be found close to beaches, headlands, and rocks. ► So I joined Jean-Hubert Pommois, head of the shipyard, aboard his Astus 26.5, together with Jérôme, our helmsman. Organized by the SRV (Société des Régates de Vannes), this regatta is unique in that it brings together highly diverse fleets: classic rigs, foiling boards, monohull cruisers, dinghies, and of course cruising multihulls - 63 entries in total! ► Six Astus boats were entered in the cruising multihull category: four Astus 20.5s, one older-generation Astus 22, in addition to our Astus 26.5.
