Time to relax and smell the roses on our long road trip to Perth. We’ve chosen to head inland and explore the Pilbara region. It’s remote, rugged and of course beautiful. We explore along the way, finding caves, water holes and fabulous wild camping spots. Magnus gives the new Valkry BBQ a go and makes our first of many dinners. The Valkry BBQ is something special. Made in Australia from stainless steel, it’s compact, lightweight and easy to transport. It runs on wood, charcoal or brochettes, giving plenty of cooking options wherever you set up. What makes it unique is its versatility. It morphs into different guises: a chimney to get the coals started that also doubles as a small burner, perfect for two people. The main BBQ area can be doubled in size by opening it up and placing a grate on the opposite side. Or, it can be used as a single BBQ with a lid, ideal for oven‑style cooking. The wind speed peaked at 101 km/h and lines started to break everywhere. A line on the boat beside us snapped and it went wrong from there. Many boats were damaged, we did everything we could to help out, in the end it caused our boat to get damaged, but we would do the same thing again if we had the choice. After the storm we had to get right back to work and start completing jobs, there should be a good window to start our big Atlantic crossing and we don't have much time to catch it.
