Yellowstone is a HUGE National Park and in order to get to each of the must do things it required a lot of driving from our free campsite outside the park so we figured we would pick one longer hike, hit one of the scenic drives, and visit the hotsprings. We fit so much in and saw so many super cool creatures but the reality is we could have spent weeks exploring the park and still not have seen everything. Snowstorms are arriving in Maryland, but that won't stop us from working through the winter. We're going to take a jump into the future in this video (current time, filmed just this week) to give you the details on how we continue to build inside the tent through the winter. If you remember those large propane heaters we have inside the tent which came in great use this past spring as we began bonding? They haven't been turned on once. But...we've found other ways to warm up areas inside the hulls to keep it warm enough to continue fiberglassing and have the resin fully cure. Les techniques de débarquements en dinghy peuvent être nombreuses notamment quand il y a de la vague, nous avons la nôtre pour descendre sur la plage ! 30 mètres de cordage, de la synchronisation et surtout de la rapidité. Et si l’on exclut la chute dans l’eau, le résultat est probant … La beauté du site valait bien quelques acrobaties. On se croirait dans un paysage publicitaire vendant une destination tropicale de rêve. Sanctuaire d’oiseaux sur plage magnifique. Eau infiniment turquoise, bois flotté, pélicans équilibristes… Dernier soleil Barbudien. La prochaine destination sera Saint Martin. Trois quart arrière, 20 nœuds, ça va pulser ! Du portant, des dauphins, le soleil en plein réveil et au milieu de tout ça une pêche inouïe dans des fonds de 20 mètres. Du pur plaisir ! In this episode, we meet up with our friend, Glen, in Stuart, FL. He just purchased a 2005 Hunter 456 that's in need of some TLC, and we thought we'd join him on his journey across the state of FL, through Lake Okeechobee via the Okeechobee Canal, and back to St. Petersburg. We've never made that trek before. Sailboats our size can't go through because of the height of the masts. But Glen took his mast off, lashed it to the deck, and we were off. After having the honor of getting married on Sandy and Kevin's 482, Golden Hour, at the Annapolis Boat Show, we got to see how she performed in light winds. Yes, she can sail at wind speed! ABOUT FUTURE OUR PERFORMANCE CATAMARAN: We fell in love with the Balance 482 - it's a perfect size for a cruising couple to handle and is a great "balance" of performance and comfort. One of our favorite features is the excellent ventilation since we mostly live as "hookers" (aka at anchor) where the boat automatically turns into the wind so we stay cool and we don't need to battle mold. We also have starlink for easy off-grid life. Our 2400 watt solar panel array also means we rarely need to run an engine to charge our batteries. ABOUT US: We saved for a our future boat, Sold Everything that we owned, Shipped the rest in a container to Cape Town, South Africa, flew to Cape Town, South Africa airport, to explore South Africa including an amazing safari, touring around Cape Town, move onto a Balance 482 Catamaran, then sailed to St Helena, Ascension Island, Fernando de Naronha, Brazil, Martinique, Sint Maarten (Dutch and French), St. Croix, St. John, St. Thomas, Inagua, Crooked Island, Long Island, George Town, Staniel Cay, Eleuthera, Anegada, Bahamas, Cape Canaveral, St. Augustine Florida, USA, Matthews Virigina, Zimmerman's marine for a haul out, and more! For many on the sailing scene who haven’t raced on a grand prix offshore yacht, the types and configurations of sails set forward of the mast – particularly for downwind sailing – are something of a mystery. So, shortly before the start of 2021 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, in which Peter Harburg’s Black Jack took Line Honours, we asked skipper Mark Bradford to explain some of the how and why of effective downwind sail combinations.

The 2022 RORC Transatlantic Race started on time in glorious conditions outside Marina Lanzarote. A flotilla of spectator boats witnessed the spectacle and thousands more watched by live stream, with Vendée Globe star Pip Hare providing commentary. After months of preparation and planning, the 3,000nm race to Grenada has begun for 256 sailors from 27 different countries. The record fleet of 30 boats set off at blistering pace downwind, leaving Lanzarote behind. The RORC fleet will race through the Canary Islands before sailing into the open waters of the Atlantic. A complex weather system promises a fascinating race to Camper & Nicholsons' Port Louis Marina in Grenada. “15-20 knots of wind with a wave height of one and a half metres made for a spectacular downwind start,” commented RORC Deputy Racing Manager Tim Thubron. “Both the MOCRA and combined IRC class starts were very competitive; it just shows how spirited this fleet is. The RORC Race Team will be monitoring their progress throughout the race 24/7 and, as with all of our Club’s events, we wish all our competitors a safe and enjoyable race.” José Juan Calero, Managing Director of Calero Marinas commented: “It is fantastic to see the race start in perfect conditions. I speak for all of the team at Calero Marinas and all of the supporters of this race, to say we are so proud of how this race has developed. It is an amazing experience for all of the sailors. Maserati Multi 70 e le altre 31 imbarcazioni iscritte alla regata hanno tagliato la linea di partenza in due flotte scaglionate davanti ad Arrecife con un vento di 15/18 nodi da Est (alle 11:00 UTC/ora locale i multiscafi, alle 11:10 UTC/ora locale i monoscafi). Da Puerto Calero, Lanzarote, percorreranno 2995 miglia superando le Canarie e navigando attraverso l’oceano Atlantico fino all’isola di Grenada, nei Caraibi orientali. Sulla linea, armati di foil di ultima generazione, i diretti rivali del team italiano: Argo con Brian Thompson (USA), e PowerPlay che vede a bordo i velisti inglesi Giles Scott (tattico di Ineos Team UK in Coppa America e vincitore di due ori olimpici nella classe Finn) e Miles Seddon (che con Phaedo3 nel 2015 ha stabilito il record su questa tratta). Alla boa di disimpegno i trimarani hanno effettuato la prima strambata con ordine di passaggio PowerPlay, seguito da Maserati Multi 70 e Argo, e con leggero distacco da Ultim’Emotion 2. “La situazione meteo si conferma complessa,” ha commentato Giovanni Soldini a pochi minuti dalla partenza. “La grande decisione sta nel rischiare di stare più bassi e avere venti leggeri o invece andare a cercare il fronte freddo al nord col rischio però di non riuscire a riagganciare l’Aliseo sulla fine del percorso e quindi rimanere incastrati nell’alta pressione che si forma dietro il fronte. Sarà una regata molto tattica e noi siamo determinati, abbiamo il coltello tra i denti.
