Nina & I make a beautiful Christmas cordial from the native New Zealand Christmas tree the Pohutukawa. Recipe: - 100gm Pohutukawa stamens/1litre bottle - 150gm sugar - 1/3 tspn citric acid Steep stamens in 1 litre of boling water overnight & bottle the next day! Best with bubbly & gin! I install a 200w solar panel with a MPPT Victron solar controller into two 100Ah deep cycle AMG batteries. This allows us to run a fridge freezer and lighting, charging etc even on overcast periods. On a sunny day we even run a portable ice maker! Having a wonderful two week spell of warm weather we get to return to the lake where all our adventures began. Lake Rotoiti. Je vous partage mon expérience et ma connaissance sur ce qu'un moteur inboard diesel marin à bord de nos bateaux. Sur notre voilier Océane, nous avons un moteur Volvo D1 30F récent. Sur notre ancien bateau nous avions un vieux moteur RC16D qui est très largement critiqué (à raison...). Si tu souhaite porter une réflexion sur l'usage de ce composant indispensable à une navigation pleinement sereine, je te conseil de prendre le temps d’étudier le fonctionnement de ton moteur à bord de ton bateau. En effet, c'est à mon sens l'accessoire le plus important (même sur un voilier qui à des voiles...) ! Farklı alternatiflerle denemeler yaptıktan sonra mermer tozu kullanmaya karar verdik. Sadece kaydırmaz uygulama alanlarının işaretlenmesi 3 gün sürdü. İşaretlemeler bittikten sonra uygulama kısmı düşündüğümüzden biraz daha kolay oldu. ------------------------------------------ Applying non-skid is certainly not an easy thing to do. Make sure you mask off the area intended. We have done the masking couple of times, until we are totally satisfied with the design we have. Follow along as we prepare the deck with a base coat of jotun white Mega Gloss for non-skid. We have applied marble dust on the paint and had a final layer of paint. We certainly had a better surface covering and non-skid effect compared to mixing it with paint. So far it has been an excellent application for a first time trial. Texture is very promising and still in excellent position.

Välkommen tillbaka! Vi gör 2021 års sista segling, en tur till Dragör och runt i Öresund. I fantastiskt väder seglar vi bland vindkraftverken och seglar under flygplanen påväg till Kastrup. Vi påbörjar även vintern genom att ta ned segel och fortsätter bygget av den nya motorlådan. Ett djupdyk i Gullmarsfjorden hinns med, på 40 meters djup får vi se hummer, sjöstjärnor och mycket mer! Noch war unsere Reise nicht abgeschlossen, aber immerhin ging es wieder nach Deutschland zurück. Wunderschönstes Spi-Segeln erwartete uns und wie jedes Jahr zum Abschluß unserer Sommerreise kehrten wir auch diesmal bei Henningsen & Steckmest in Kappeln ein. La antigua veleta se ha perdido en la ultima tormenta y debo poner un indicador de viento nuevo. Los peldaños no son necesarios para instalar la veleta pero harán que trabajemos con mucha más comodidad y como en breve instalaré un equipo de viento nuevo, creo que es el momento ideal para colocarlo. Verás cómo instalarlo todo es mucho más fácil de lo que parece. Los peldaños que vamos a instalar son unos peldaños plegables y son de nylon. Hacen la curvatura del mástil y si no fuera perfecta porque cada mástil es diferente unos son más curvados otros un poquito más planos, pues en el nylon tenemos la ventaja que nos permite lijarlo de hecho las instrucciones lo pone que si no se adapta perfectamente al mástil que se puede ligar. Tienen cinco remaches y aguantan 140 kilos, aguantan el peso de una persona de sobra. La veleta que vamos instalar es una veleta windex modelo 15". He elegido esta veleta porque tiene espantapájaros, puede parecer una chorrada pero estoy harto de que los pájaros me cargue la cubierta del barco. Vamos a montar la veleta antes de subir al mástil, más que nada porque si se cae si se me escapa algo de la mano ya sabéis dónde va, va al agua y hasta luego. La parte roja de las aspas debe mirar hacia abajo, es la parte que brilla al reflejar la luz. La veleta tiene unas hendiduras donde acoplamos las varillas y apretamos el tornillo. En el manual de instrucciones dice que las aspas y varillas deben coincidir con la plantilla de la caja, para marcar exactamente el ángulo y grados con respecto al viento. Lo primero es marcar la altura a la que pondremos los peldaños, la distancia recomendada a un metro veinte desde lo alto del mástil. Ahora vamos a marcar los agujeros de los remaches. Los peldaños coinciden con las formas del mástil perfectamente en la parte de abajo pero aquí arriba no. Hay que lijar la curvatura del mástil, aquí es diferente a la parte de abajo. De todas formas vamos a marcar y abrir los agujeros ya que tengo toda la herramienta que arriba. Vamos a taladrar el mástil, cinco agujeros a cada lado. Un par de horitas lijando y tiene la forma correcta. La mejor forma de subir al mástil de un velero es con ayuda y con la máxima seguridad posible. Vamos a colocar los peldaños y la veleta de viento. Los remaches son del número 5 y la remachadora como veis es bastante pequeña así que toca apretar pero fuerte Ya están los peldaños listos, con un cinturón podremos trabajar con mucha facilidad aquí en lo alto del mástil y no tenemos que agarrarnos. El cinturón ya lo iremos perfeccionando. Se ha partido la veleta, sería vieja y si sumamos la dureza el ambiente marino el resultado es éste. Quitaremos el viejo soporte. Vamos a tirar de lo último en tecnología, fijaos qué sistema tan sofisticado uso para subir la nueva veleta. El soporte de la veleta coincide exactamente con este modelo, está claro que las dos veletas son de la misma marca. Como está montada solo tenemos que poner y apretar un tornillo. Tendremos que comprobar el ángulo de las aspas con la plantilla. El espantapájaros ya veremos cómo funciona. Recuerda bajar despacito del mástil y con seguridad. Veleta lista para navegar marcando el origen del viento y el ángulo en grados respecto a la proa del barco. Jess enjoys her first circumnavigation of the delightful Isle of Sheppey, wearing her special sailing pyjamas. We set off from Queenborough on a sleepy summer's day in July 2020 for a gentle sail around the Island. It's around 30 miles to get all the way around the Isle of Sheppey. We managed it in around 7 hours mainly motor sailing and by working the tides in our favour. We sailed the Swale from West to East and then along the top home.
