This Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 439 Performance from 2012 is a fast and seaworthy cruising yacht. In very good condition, and it shows that the current owner, who is a professional skipper, really knows how to sail, handle and maintain her. This yacht has teak-laid decks, a wide cockpit with two helm stations, and a drop-down transom/boarding platform. She is equipped with a slab-reefing main sail with Lazy Bag, Jib, Code Zero, and an Elvstrom Blue Water Runner which are all in great condition. She is furthermore, equipped with a 57hp diesel engine, bow thruster, folding prop, solar panels, wind generator, converter, life raft, and a dinghy with outboard. Further to that, equipped with a comprehensive navigation equipment including radar and a full Iridium Go satellite system. This Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 439 Performance has an elegant interior and features a 3-cabin/2-heads lay out. All cabins are generous for a 43-footer, and especially the owner’s cabin is roomy with her double bed, vanity desk and ample ensuite with shower stall. Further to that, the dining table in the saloon can be converted into a double berth. To make life on board even more comfortable she is fitted out with reverse cycle air conditioning, Webasto heating, a full Bose system, and TV´s in the saloon and the master cabin. ** This yacht has been sold. This is a real life test through a channel in the Stockholm archipelago of the B&G ForwardScan setup. I hope it helps you out. Just a little note: In this video the depth is offset by 1.7m so that both of the transducers show the depth below the keel and not from the surface.

This is how I step and lower the mast on my 1973 Catalina 22 swing-keel sailboat.

Today we head an hour west into Carmarthenshire to the home of sheep, beaches, and some cool castles.Our first stop is Laugharne where we head to the home of Dylan Thomas and wander around the estuary. We loved this friendly, quaint (!) little village and could really see where Dylan got his inspiration from. Next up, we headed 15 minutes away to St Michaels Church. Having successfully navigated through a farmyard, dodged some dogs and not got lost through endless fields, we arrived at the now-reclaimed-by-nature ruins. With it once being a stop off for pilgrims heading to St Davids, this tranquil snippet in the hills of Carmarntheshire was one you really shouldnt miss if you enjoy history, religion and peaceful places. Listening to the birds and the trickle of the river nearby was really lovely and quite touching. Our last stop of the day was to Scotts Bay and Llansteffan Castle. With views over the Tywi estuary and Carmarthen Bay, this settlement has quite the 5* location. We ended up doing a long loop, and adding an extra 2 miles on the end, at the suggestion of a lovely dog walker, leading us past a derelict National Trust property. This countryside is so unspoiled and we think winter might actually be a perfect time to visit! We set off on a 280nm passage to the Banda Islands, Indonesia and the conditions were mild. Mid afternoon the squalls started piling up on the horizon and we just knew we would get smashed! Should have immediately gone to 2nd reef and ended up getting way over-powered. Lesson learnt I guess. Otherwise we had a very enjoyable passage, its been awhile since we have been offshore and I was more relaxed than ever and Marie also had her best passage ever. Gotta love sailing. After an extremely busy anchorage with boat actually bumping into us, we decide to sail on but as all sailors know the wind that's predicted doesn't always materialise so we end up motoring until we get rather fed up and find ourselves a totally deserted island with a cute little anchorage for the night! We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. In this episode we continue our exploration of Fiji's Yasawa Island group, starting with the area known as the Blue Lagoon. There are a couple of nice hiking areas here up over the hills of the small islands. Next, Rob and Michelle from SV Ventana show us what it means to go Skurfing! It's pretty easy with a really "floaty" paddleboard, and then we level-up to trying it on a surf board, which has much less stability. Nous mettons en ligne cette vidéo pour rendre hommage à notre petit chat qui depuis Septembre 2021 nous accompagne à bord de Velella dans notre tour du monde. C'est en Guyane, à Dégrad des Cannes que nous avons perdu Pataprout en accostant à la Marina en début de soirée le 2 janvier 2022 pour remplir nos cuves d'eau. Depuis, nous le cherchons en vain, nous avons mis des affiches, téléphoner à tous les vétérinaires du coin. Dans 1 semaine nous devrons quitter la Guyane, en laissant derrière nous notre Pataprout.
