The new Italia Yachts 20.98 is the first Mini Maxi design of the brand. By the hand of Maurizio Cossutti, it merges the brand's philosophy of yachts that can sail in the lightest breezes while being safe and easy to control in the strongest. Adding the latest in design and construction including resin-infused vacuum hull and deck, carbon fiber structural supports, and technologies such as a fiber optic load sensing network laid into the hull laminate during construction. The IY20.98 project is collaborating with many partners, including B&G, Volvo, and Allspars, in order to produce an incredible product. IY20.98 is designed to be sailed by owners, and easy to sail by guests as well, thanks to all controls coming back to the helms and systems set up in a logical and safe manner. In regatta configuration, winches at the mast allow crew forward to control halyards. In addition to its voluminous living interior, there are two crew cabins under the cockpit deck, in order to allow the crew to relax during all modes of operation vs the traditional bow cabin that is virtually inaccessible while at sea. Several interior layouts are available including a charter version. In keeping with the brand's promise of 'Design to Sail', the IY20.98 is designed to be luxurious and as easy to operate as desired by the owner. The hull features a single rudder that is in line with the keel and above the plane, protecting it from damage while at anchor or at sea from floating debris and gaining better performance through the less wetted surface, a problem that has long plagued twin rudder designs. Two keel options are available, with a 12.5' fixed or lifting 8.5'-13.5' design to enable entrance into shallow water harbors. In this episode, we complete a couple boat projects at Linton Bay Marina before completing our multi day offshore sail to Bocas Del Toro, Panama. Unfortunately, this sail is a bit of a rough one for us. We have issues with our autopilot and have to fight current and swell. We even heave-to one night so we can get some rest. This is something they don't show you with the tour boats. The west side of Faroe erupts out of the sea with cliffs that soar vertically for thousands of feet. It's a refuge and breeding ground for millions of birds each year, and has some of the most stunning scenery. It also has some amazing small sea caves which a boat can go through...if you're brave enough. Care to join us? Knowing better is a good life skill, and one I'm still working at. And on this trip the stupid mounts. In many ways, getting the crap scared out of you focuses the mind, and it's something that honestly doesn't happen that often for me (or us). But in an attempt to solve a problem that I knew in my heart was probably unsolvable, I took a risk that was way outside of what was called for. As for the second time? Well that was a subset of the first problem, which was the need to tack without reefing the headsail halfway first. This was not only hard on the sail but also carried the probability of the sail getting backwinded and caught on the removable inner forestay during the tack. This was at night, so no video of the event, but a small debrief describing it. sailing talisman, sailing, sailing youtube, boating, top sailing, oyster yachts, oyster sailboats, oyster 485, offshore, bluewater, blue water, sailing vlog, sailing vblog, sailing channels, sailing videos, cruising, monohull

We said we WERE NOT going to do this, WE LIED | Episode 183 Finally! We’re getting splashed after 6 weeks of hard work and being out of the water. While we have been here, we’ve been up to something. We said that we WERE NOT going to do this, but here we are doing it. So we are breaking down and telling you guys our little secret. And then we set off for our shakedown sail so we can make sure everything is working out the way it should. After a little shaky start, we set out to see if we can make it to a little island off the south of Curacao, Klein Curacao. While we have been in the boatyard we have been taking care of several dogs, in this episode we are taking 3 of the males to get the ole snip ship. We may not be able to help all the dogs on island, but we can at least do SOMETHING. We have really been inspired to start helping above and beyond. We are starting a fund for any help you guys would like to offer in helping us take care of dogs along our journey. If you would like to donate, please do so here: https://bit.ly/oonas-friends . We are Ben and MP! Recently we decided to purchase a two-masted 70ft wooden schooner in Brazil. The fun detail about our story is that the boat we bought was sinking and relying on many bilge pumps to survive so we had to lift it onto the dry to start a full refit. Once the boat was lifted (for the first time in her life) we realized that the works needed were a lot more than expected. Between bailing or accepting the challenge, we decided to go for the second option. Watch us as we bring Yabá back to life with the help of an amazing team of traditional shipwrights, sharing every phase of the process, overcoming the highs and lows and having fun along the way. This is how we dock our boat and prepare it for storms in a new harbor known for damaging boats. We even witness a few major boat docking fails ourselves. #sailing #docking #storms #boatfails #liveaboard We sail 100 miles offshore overnight from Terceira to Sao Miguel in the Azores. It is the next leg in our journey to sail around the world. We dock up in a big city as we prepare to leave the boat for one month and fly home to do some racing and professional boat prep and delivery work. This harbor is known for its rough conditions with damaging winds from the south. We prepare with extra fenders and double dock lines as well as removing the sails from the mast and boom and securing the halyards. While we are at this we witness a a yacht crash into the dock right ahead of us and go to assist. We tour the harbor and find more boat carnage from the 35 knot + southerly winds. Who are we? We are a young YouTube sailing channel couple that sold it all and left to sail around the world. We enjoy traveling off the beaten path, so we are sailing around the world via Cape Horn and the Cape of Good hope, not through the Panama Canal like most others. Meet Kate and Curtis. Kate was a school teacher. Curtis was a business consultant. Roxy the dog was rescued from a shelter. They bought a boat, spent months refitting it on a budget, and set off to see the world together. Before leaving, like you, we watched videos of sailing and cruising, ocean crossings, and circumnavigating, every week. We enjoyed the best sailing channels such as Sailing La Vagabonde, SV Delos, Gone with the Wynns, Project Atticus, Sailing Nahoa, and more. We were inspired by these influencers and hope to return the favor. We want to show you the world and inspire you to break free and go sailing. We are a little bit different than the rest. Our new sailing channel is dedicated to performance sailing and relaxing videos. Our goal is to teach you a little bit about sailing fast as we were both experienced offshore sailboat racers before leaving. We hope to teach you about sail trim, boat handling, safety, and navigation while passagemaking in bluewater. Sorry, but you won't find Instagramers, bikini models, or sailboat fails here. Just real sailing and cruising stuff that you can watch with the family. Prior to our sail away we both enjoyed racing sailboats at a high level. Kate was a sailing instructor, Jr. National Champion sailor, and race winning offshore helmswoman. Curtis has been on the water all his life, raced one-design Melges 24s, and has accumulated quite the list of offshore racing wins as a navigator. We are enjoying the digital nomad and tiny home lifestyle on our boat. We have a long way to go. It has been extra challenging due to pandemic related lockdowns and border closures, but we are determined to push through and sail around the world before the music stops. We’re Jason and Nikki Wynn. Cultivators of curiosity and seekers of tall tales. We have been living #OffTheGrid and exploring the world for 10 years. Our first six years of travel were an epic road trip around North America. Now we’re on a sailing voyage about the world. Did we have any previous sailing experience, of course not! Neither of us is overly talented, smart, rich, lucky, or retired. But that doesn’t stop us from reaching far-flung destinations, having wild #adventures, and managing everything that makes living aboard and sailing around the world possible. We’re two ordinary people that just so happen to live an extraordinary life. The final week was packed with so many jobs that we had to split this one up in two! But we are STOKED to have the new crew arrive, and make huge progress as we get one huge step closer to splashing after an amorous 10 month refit. SV Parlay is a hurricane damaged Lagoon 450 catamaran, which Colin rebuilt with friends and has started sailing around the world. They found bulkhead damage on their catamaran in Panama, so have fixed her up, and are almost ready to cross the Pacific Ocean!! Now that the decks and cabin sides are on, it's time to begin building out the interior! After jumping back to where we last left you, we have some good news in the amount of methacrylate left in our bucket to get the remaining cabin sides on. And - one last nice weather day to do the job. With the molded pieces done for the year, we then turn our focus into bonding many of those areas from the inside - such as the side decks and foredeck to our hulls and webbing. But then.....comes the most exciting part of this episode. We bond in our very first piece of furniture - the forward guest bed!!! :D And although it *is* still a structural piece, that doesn't make us any less excited to get it in. Join us to see how it comes together, and make sure to stick around til the end to watch Tucker's special goodbye, lol. Enjoy! Let us know if you have any questions, we can't wait to hear from you! SAILING PURISTS often look at CRUISING with a slight air of DISDAIN, especially when that cruising involves MOTORING. How much motoring is too much? When do you STOP being a sailor at all? And does it matter? We began as pure sailors and soon discovered the definition of what we are now is quite complicated. Ultimately we're travelers aboard a sailboat and we explain exactly what that means. Enjoy!! And be sure to SUBSCRIBE for WEEKLY CONTENT EVERY FRIDAY! Cheers!! Wow, what a huge moment in my life. Since a small child i've been in awe about rockets and space flight. Now finally the time has come to see my first rocket launch... and from the deck of my beloved boat and home, "Jupiter2"..... but first, we need to complete the customs formalities and then position the boat for the best view....along the way, we inadvertently "test" our pop up rudders. During his time away from work, Jamie lived on board and cruised South East Asia. One of his life dreams is to sail around the world. His plans came together at the end of 2018 when he met a Filipina lounge singer in China. Princess was yearning for a vacation since she had been working many years to support her family. Finally, her siblings got their own jobs and she decided to join Jamie on Jupiter² and go sailing. It was a wild decision for her because she had never sailed before. For the first time, they sail for two weeks around Phuket, Thailand. She began to see what Jamie love about the sea. They both resigned from their jobs in early 2019 and began cruising full time. Hopefully some inspiration to "Quit Job and Go Sailing".
In this episode, we get Wind Therapy (our Leopard 45 sailing catamaran) ready for The Bahamas, again. We started off with a fried bus bar from our solar panels, bought two new solar panels and did some other electrical work, replaced one of our AC vents so we can get more AC in our cabin, stocked up on beer and hard cider from Three Daughters Brewery, and left the dock, again. But this time, we had major fog. We made a few stops along the way including Longboat Key, Caya Costa State Park, and Key West. Our friends, Howie and John, live on their boat in Key West right now. We met up with them and spent a sunset cruise aboard the schooner America 2.0 before we took off for Ft. Lauderdale. Amazing refit / renovation of our 1996 Venezia 42 Sailing Catamaran! We are remodeling our sailboat for comfort and off grid cruising. A huge factor to live off grid is sustainable clean energy. We saw an overloaded dinghy go by, then we heard the screams. We show what happens when there is a lack of common sense when boating. A dinghy of 5 people capsized, the motor was still running, all the baggage in the water and telephones and passports lost. Pierre went to the rescue and after the situation was under control, Lisa captured some of it on film, as well as our debriefing on what happened. I hate standard bottom paint! In this video I removed the bottom paint on our 1991 Corsair F27 Trimaran and used two methods. I strictly sanded the main hull, and I used a chemical stripper on the amas. What did I think was the better method? Well, it's complicated. That's kind of like asking what's better, a poop sandwich or a turd burrito? Both jobs suck because there's one constant, the poisonous, messy bottom paint. In all reality both methods had their pros and cons. I think if the bottom paint were thicker the stripper method would prove better, but since there wasn't that much bottom paint on our boat, I think strictly sanding was better in this situation. What do you think? Leave a comment below. We're not afraid to jump into anything, put in the work, and learn as we go. We started out with Somnium, an O'day 272, moved onto Freebie, an Endeavour 32, and now are focusing on sailboat tours and working full time as teachers while we save up for our next boat.
Highlights of what happened globally in the sport of sailing in the last 7 days. As we have prepared this report Giovanni Soldini and his team have pushed their damaged boat across the finishing line first, in the RORC Trans Atlantic Race for 2022. It was very close from Power Play and Argo. Now we have the latest report in from the RORC dated January 14th. In the latest INEEOS "Moving Parts" video, James Allison their Chief Technical Officer is profiled. Meanwhile the on-water action in Australia is at "Sail Melbourne", where we have the Day One highlights. Melbourne produced a 32-degree day, with 20 knots of shifty easterly breeze to keep the sailors happy. Jérémie Beyou has had a very challenging year this year, and he is looking at building a new Imoca for the 2024 V\endee Globe. Let's hope it's as exciting as his current boat. The Melges 15 Winter Series got off to a great start with 60 boats registered. The registration more than doubled since 2021 with new owners, early advocates, and teams of all ages. Congratulations to Eddie Cox and Molly Ziegler! The 15 is, Sailing World's, "Boat of the Year." In what we hope will become a regular feature leading up to the 37th America's Cup, we have the latest from "Mr America's Cup", Sailing Illustrated's, Tom Ehman. Tom has the "inside ear" on what is happening and he will share it with us here on the "World on Water."
–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Facebook, pour les dernières news : https://www.facebook.com/BagBihan/ Instagram, pour les dernières photos, vidéos et stories : https://www.instagram.com/bag.bihan YouTube, pour les VLOGS : https://urlr.me/7b8N4 –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Track: Emoji — tubebackr [Audio Library Release] Music provided by Audio Library Plus Watch: https://youtu.be/Dsr4o9cZxUo Free Download / Stream: https://alplus.io/emoji Track: Burst — Land of Fire [Audio Library Release] Music provided by Audio Library Plus Watch: https://youtu.be/8QW7eYTDHGA Free Download / Stream: https://alplus.io/burst Track: Emoji — tubebackr [Audio Library Release] Music provided by Audio Library Plus Watch: https://youtu.be/Dsr4o9cZxUo Free Download / Stream: https://alplus.io/emoji Track: Good Life — JayJen & Roa [Audio Library Release] Music provided by Audio Library Plus Watch: https://youtu.be/c8YgaHuQMa8 Free Download / Stream: https://alplus.io/good-life cinematic-documentary-orchestra-by-infraction-no-copyright-music-adventure Infraction - No Copyright Music Mama Aiuto - Solar Cove https://chll.to/e34611a2 Sleepy Fish - Fireworks Festival https://chll.to/8bdd075a Tracks Tibeauthetraveler - Cherry Tree Lofi records Musique proposée par La Musique Libre : Dimatis - OverComing : https://youtu.be/-pIC6z654ho Dimatis : https://www.youtube.com/dimatis Musique proposée par La Musique Libre Ehrling - All I Need : https://youtu.be/sQ1oJpM034k Ehrling : https://soundcloud.com/ehrling Musique proposée par La Musique Libre Joakim Karud - Canals : https://youtu.be/zrXbhncmorc Joakim Karud : https://soundcloud.com/joakimkarud FREE MUSIC ARCHIVE Tired of life by Meydän https://freemusicarchive.org/music/Meydan/Havor/3-_Tired_of_life_1504 ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
Buona visione
Josh and I for his birthday woke up early to see this beautiful sunrise.
