We explore the little port and find a lovely museum. Then it’s back onboard to sail north up to Still Bay and Lacrosse Island. We encounter the worst storm ever whilst on anchor at Lacrosse Island. How do you like your sailing? I personally enjoy pushing the limits, going upwind and feeling the power and energy of the elements. For Marie 23kts is the max wind she likes along with a boat speed of 6kts. In this video we swim with some big fish and to the local market but the featuring part is a wet & wild passage we had. Gusting over 30kts and with a short sharp swell it was pretty hectic! As it was only a short 16 mile leg hauled it well but I really enjoyed it. After I had lost the mast, I make it to St. Martin. Immediately, I start getting quotations for a new mast, rigg, sails and radar. Soon it becomes clear that delivery times are long. Hence, it won't be ready prior to the hurricane season. Hence, I decide to relocate Jambo to Grenada. Despite some problems I arrive at Clarkes Court Boatyard, where Jambo gets parked for the hurricane season. With little time to go we made sure Liger was ready to have the mast put back on and be relaunched before our Italian visa ran out. While our departure from Monfalcone was delayed slightly by bad weather, it was okay as it gave us time to carefully tension the rigging using our new Dillion tension meter and make sure everything was stowed and ready to make the passage to Split, Croatia. Prickly Bay has been really calm lately and has dished up some stunning sunsets.

In this episode we pass time in Chiapas marina, our port of entry into Mexico, during a very stormy season. Though we always have fun with our buddy boats and enjoy the BBQ and pool facilities at the marina, we get prettttyyyy ansy after a few days since Chiapas was not intended to be a long stay for us. When Brooke of s/v One Life suggests that we book an air bnb together at a nearby spot inland our group says a resounding YES!! Our rental home turns out to be a sweet spot more than big enough to house all of us and has private beach access, a pool, and plenty of comfy seats - Plus a large kitchen, a nice change from our small boat galleys with lots of space to cook and hang out comfortably together . . . And it's also a good spot for other types of activities as well! Enter our friend Layla, a talented tatoo artist who happens to be hanging out with us which quickly leads Bill to decide it's time to go for his first ever Tat. Not your typical beach getaway but Bill is stoked with the end result. We'll deal with telling Mom later . . . This episode ends with our passage out of Chiapas as we finally escape the stormy weather and head up the coast of Mexico. Like all jobs on the boat, they seem so over whelming when you look at them as a whole. We are slowing learning that you need to just eat the elephant one bite at a time. 😳 As most boats, our Hunter 460 has beautiful teak inside. Well at least it was. UV damage and neglect has really taken its toll. Nothing has been touched in 3 years, hence the major work load that we have been doing for the past month and we’re like a dog on bone trying to get her ship shape ASAP. We are trying to take our time and not kill ourselves in the process, but it isn’t easy. The words “quitting time” just done seem to be in our vocabulary. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏼‍♂️ The day starts right after coffee ☕ and ends when we are too exhausted to move anymore 😫 Now I know we can’t go on like this forever but we are sure going to give it our all for as long as we can. It’s so rewarding at the end of the to see what we have accomplished…instant gratification! 🤘🏼 Somebody once told us a boat without a working list is a sunk boat... So Back to work!
