This is part 2 of a step-by-step build of a B&B Yacht Designs Spindrift 10 nesting dinghy, following the guidance from the build instructions. This video focuses on the gunwales, filleting, stitching removal and carbon fiber taping. She will be the tender to Flying Spur soon! I purchased the pre-cut "kit" to save some time, but the same results can be accomplished by purchasing the build instructions and cutting your own marine-grade plywood. This video is for those who are looking to build their own dinghy, and who wish to learn more about the process. This is the second project Brent and I worked on together, the previous being a 7' pram for Brent. I hope you enjoy, and I hope you take away some successes we had, as well as learning from some of the failures we encountered.

Durante el último año he ido solucionando pequeñas averías y haciendo mejoras que, aunque no son graves, ayudan a entender mejor cómo funcionan los sistemas del barco y a detectar problemas antes de que aparezcan en navegación. – Instalación de filtrado para poder beber agua del depósito – Reparación de la bomba de ducha con un sistema más mantenible – Lijado y pulido de la encimera de cocina El mantenimiento preventivo no es solo conservar el barco: es conocer su comportamiento normal para poder anticipar fallos. After a month away from the boat, we’re finally back — and diving straight into projects. This episode starts with Jeff flying back to Minnesota to reunite with the family for Christmas and help pack up our house as we prepare to sell it. From there, it’s back to the boat to reassemble our Gori folding props, splash back into the water, and get moving again. Most of this episode is spent building the scaffolding and structure for our new solar arch and mounting solar panels as we continue upgrading our electrical system for full-time liveaboard life. It’s one of those projects that’s probably fine… right? We also take some time to explore Fort Pierce and Riviera Beach, Florida, as we slowly make our way south and continue learning what it really takes to live aboard a sailing catamaran as a family. With very little wind, much of the passage becomes a long motor-sail, reminding us that cruising isn’t always perfect sailing. We discover a series of beautiful, sheltered anchorages near the Ebro River Delta, giving us protection from swell and a rare peaceful night’s sleep. But calm conditions don’t last long… As storms roll in, we find ourselves caught in the middle of a civil defence weather warning. With thunder and lightning surrounding us, we make a tense entrance into La Ràpita Marina just in time to take shelter. For the next two days, relentless rain keeps us pinned down. When the skies finally clear, we head into town to reprovision, regroup, and prepare Helios for the next leg west along the Spanish coast. Damit man in der Ankerbucht ruhig schlafen kann, hilft eine Ankeralarm-App. Du legst den Ankerpunkt fest und definierst den Schwojkreis, also den Bereich, in dem sich das Boot bewegen darf. Wind, Welle und Strömung können das Boot drehen – das ist völlig normal. Faustregel: mindestens 3-fache Wassertiefe an Ankerkette stecken.
