'오호, 휴대폰으로 오토파일럿 조종이 되네? 배의 흔들림이 휴대폰 화면 속 시뮬레이터로 그대로 구현되잖아?' 정말 자랑할 만했다. 옆에서 보는 나 역시 너무 신기해서 얼른 카메라를 꺼내 이 순간을 기록했다. '더 안전하고 쉬운 바다 위의 삶', 즉 더 나은 항해를 향한 우리의 도전은 꽤 오래전부터 이어져 왔다. 그리고 그 도전은 최근 새롭고 다양한 AI 기술의 폭발적인 등장과 함께 더욱 강력한 추진력을 얻고 있다. 이미 대기업들이 앞다투어 기술을 증명해 내고 있지만, 우리라고 하지 못할 이유는 없다. 할 수 있다는 가능성이 보인다면, 마땅히 해야 한다고 생각한다. 앞으로 AI 자율항해 프로젝트에 대한 이야기를 계속 다룰 예정이다. 요트 정비 이야기보다 분량은 적을지라도, 그 중요도와 밀도만큼은 훨씬 높을 것이다. 이것이 바로 우리가 나아가 항해하는 진짜 목적이기 때문이다.

The balance between survival and enjoyment. Between speed and comfort. Between pushing the boat forward and knowing when to simply slow things down.
