The weather never cooperated, and we could not string 5 days of decent weather together to charter a Seawind 1260. Time was running short, so Toni and I committed to a daysail. A Seawind 1160 Lite named Nanyehi was available so we left under overcast skies and a bashful sun. This Seawind 1160 Lite was lite in every sense of the word but the owners are adding comforts as time permits. Options are not necessary when just going out for the day and this boat sailed wonderfully in the light autumn breezes along the central Chesapeake Bay. Toni did another comparison of the 1160 with the 1260 accommodations. We spent the day tacking back and forth between the anchored ships through the mist and drizzle, until the breezes abated and the fog started to role in. We dropped sails and headed back to practice some dock approaches before tying up for the day. We then evaluated the blue water davits on a Seawind 1260 to assist us in deciding if this option is for our boat. Feel free to comment and let us know your thoughts

Join us as we explore cabin E503, our Obstructed Ocean View (outside/sea view) grade cabin on P&O Ventura! This compact cabin was home to Marina, her mum, and our 2 children for a 5 night Northern Europe cruis ein December 2022. Despite being fairly snug for 4 people, it was comfortable enough for a short duration cruise. The main issue that we found was the wear and tear, which was more than we would have expected to find. Would we have liked a test sail first???  Of course!  But it was a quick handover, the weather was fickle, and here we are.  But it’s certainly not our first offshore passage and we like a good challenge.  And a challenge is exactly what we got! We have been struck by lightning for the second time in 2 years. Costa Rica is renown for its lighting in wet season, and sure enough, 3 boats got struck on this fateful night. The first time we got struck was in Panama 2 wet seasons ago, so the boat has had its fair share of bad luck, including bulkhead and also hurricane damage... SV Parlay is a hurricane damaged Lagoon 450 catamaran, which Colin rebuilt with friends and has started sailing around the world. They found bulkhead damage on their catamaran in Panama, so have fixed her up, and are almost ready to cross the Pacific Ocean!!
