Leaving the extremely loud and busy Gold Coast we sail the 240nm south to Yamba. Marie gets pretty stressed when we haven't been doing long passages for a while and this time it happened again. She felt scared, seasick and just generally unwell. The trip was pretty uneventful really and we arrived at sunrise and passed through the Yamba Bar easily. I'm headed to the inside passage through Cape Hataras on this Sceptre 36 foot sailboat and I see Coinjock on the chart! WTF? Why coinjock? Lets sail to this famous cruising destination and see what's up on our way to the Bahamas..

We launched the dingy to check out a black mark on the port side of Isabella. Whew! It was just a scuff and not a scratch. Also made a terrible discovery of a leak with the hoses going to the VIP sink. Hmmm, that’s probably why our water pump kept cycling. Steve sanded and refinished the aft companionway wood. Found some rot on the panel in the lazarette. Once repaired, the water maker needed help. Unfortunately, both cylinders were damaged. Always fun discovering and working on boat projects. We've got some massive progress on hull #1 this week! This was filmed just before Christmas and there were some big changes already. The hull has been stripped of the protective blue paint, the bottom has been antifouled and the carbon fibre davits are bonded in. But there's a lot of other progress as well! We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. But for these people it's a dream, or may not even be a dream. We will look around and when the opportunity to help comes we will put our hands and hearts in to it.
