This episode opens with Calico Skies leaving the dock in San Carlos after the hurricane has cleared out. Skies are sunny and clear and we set out on a 24 hour passage headed north west to get us back towards the area we were before the storm but also a bit further up the Sea of Cortez. Grace ends up taking many of the watches because Bill's come into this passage extra tired after an early morning meeting with the OCC. One of these watches turns out to be the most spectacular serene morning, one of the most beautiful in memory. The sun is rises while the moon sets as we weave our way through swirling tidal pools on both sides of us. The current phenomena is particularly strong in this area and the bow keeps getting sucked off course and then snapping back to the correct course. It's incredible to witness. Once anchored we take a dip in our new backyard and enjoy our new spot on the hook. The next day Bill climbs the mast to tackle a boat project; fixing our radar which crapped out several passages ago. It's been making overnight passages particularly challenging since it’s one of the systems we depend on when while sailing at night in the dark. Thankfully and somewhat surprisingly the problem turns out to be a simple faulty belt and it seems the error code was correct. It is a simple fix to repair the broken belt and Bill tests it to find that the fix is successful indeed! As a reward we are off to take a dive together to enjoy the clear water abundant with fish. We're also on a mission to catch dinner and we're lucky to score two Leopard Grouper! We filet the fish then head over to sv OneLife to enjoy our fresh catch grilled on the bbq and eaten together amongst friends. We enjoy a pretty sunset and before long its pitch black as we sit outside and gaze at the stars .... Suddenly we see strange lights in the sky! It looks like a bunch of dots connected together invisibly and moving like a train through the sky. Turns out, it's a Star link launch!! Thanks Gary for clarifying that for us!!! ha. The next morning we enjoy a hike together as a group and admire the majestic cactus in this pretty desert place. Notre manœuvre à peine terminée et les Kunas nous demandent de l’aide, leur chaloupe est échouée sur la plage. Bonjour à tous On visite Ajaccio, la vielle ville, les monuments, les iles sanguinaires. On va même visiter les urgences et l'hôpital!!! Après 24h de fièvres et des douleurs au ventre , Olivier a du consulter en urgence, médecin, échographie, prise de sang pour finir aux urgences de l'hôpital d'Ajaccio. Verdict appendicite aigue!! à 63 ans! Il est vraiment resté jeune mon capitaine. C'est toujours compliqué dans une ville qu'on ne connait pas, sans voiture, mais heureusement nous n'étions pas en mer loin de tout! Rien que d'y penser, j'en frissonne encore ... Et on pouvait compter sur nos amis Maguy et Pierre, merci à eux. Bon film et à bientôt Isabelle

#97 Cela fait un bon 10 mois que nous vous avons laissé dans l'incompréhension de ce qui arrive présentement sur Petit Chantier. La vie en voilier est l'une des plus belles choses que nous ayons découverts, Eloi et moi. Lorsque nous sommes partis, du haut de nos 20 ans, on savait à peine l'importance que ce mode de vie aurait dans nos vies respectives. Si ça se trouve, on savait à peu près rien du tout. On a quitté les eaux brumeuses et froides du Fjord du Saguenay en septembre 2017, saluant les Bélugas de la main. Au son d'un vieux moteur Volvo 1 cylindre, on naviguait sur le fleuve St-Laurent, cap vers les Bahamas. Nos 8 derniers mois de travaux sur le Tanzer 28' qu'on avait emprunté au père d'Eloi étaient maintenant derrière nous, tout comme nos familles et nos amis. Je me souviens que j'observais le Galway Bay. Ses petites barres de flèches tremblottantes sous la pesanteure des explosions du moteur diesel. Il avait réellement quelque chose d'aussi effrayant que magique dans sa simplicité. Je me disais secrètement qu'au fond, peut-être qu'on arriverait jamais à se rendre dans le sud. Ceux qui nous ont connu savent qu'on devait utiliser un séchoir à cheveux pour réchauffer notre vieux moteur, tous les matins avant de tenter de le démarrer. Mais chaque coucher de soleil dans un nouveau mouillage signifiait un avancement. Et je me disais qu'au fond, il en avait d'dans, notre Galway Bay. Eloi et moi avons appris à nous connaître comme jamais auparavant dans notre p'tit coquille de fibre de verre. Pourtant, ça faisait déjà 4 ans qu'on était des amoureux. Ensemble, on s'amusait. C'était tellement facile. On s'est rendu aux Bahamas presque sans l'ombre d'une chicane. On était dont heureux et fières de nous. Depuis ce temps, les années ont passé. Étant en amour avec ce nouveau mode de vie, on a arrêté la chaîne YouTube pendant 2 ans pour ramasser nos sous afin de s'acheter un voilier sur lequel on se sentirait en confiance de faire le tour du monde. Et 3 ans après notre départ du Québec, ce moment est enfin venu. Lorsqu'on est arrivé devant notre Corbin 39, on était prêts à tout. Il nous a fallu 6 mois pour remettre ce voilier en ordre et enfin partir pour cette aventure qui nous animait tant. On a tout, tout, tout mis dans ce projet et dans ce voilier. #98 Pourquoi je vous raconte tout ça... Peut-être pour dire à quel point la vie est imprévisible. À quel point il m'a prit du temps à accepter ce qui nous arrive. Il existe un réel défi lorsqu'on vit à deux sur un voilier. On devient des amoureux qui oui, partagent leur vie. Mais on devient aussi l'équipage d'un voilier. Et c'est parfois difficile d'entretenir l'amour, et de toujours faire de sont mieux pour le mettre en premier plan. De se rappeler que l'amour était ce qui avait initié toute cette aventure. Après presque 9 ans à partager notre vie ensemble, à vivre des montagnes russes d'émotions, à grandir ensemble, nous avons finalement pris chacun notre chemin. Je crois que cette séparation sera à jamais l'une des plus grandes tristesse de nos vies. Celle de ne pas avoir réussi à tout gérer en même temps. Celle de s'être brisé le coeur. Cette inexpérience dans la complexité d'être deux humains qui marchent ensemble, mais qui ne regardent pas toujours dans la même direction et qui parfois tribuchent. Ça été extrêment difficile pour nous de vous partager cette nouvelle. Pour ma part, une grande partie de moi avait de la difficulté à l'accepter, à l'assumer. C'était comme si de vous écrire et de partager cette nouvelle rendait l'affaire officielle. Et c'est pour ça que j'ai eu peur de vous le dire. On s'excuse de vous avoir laissé dans l'incompréhension et je suis aussi extrêmement désolée de devoir vous apprendre cette triste nouvelle. Bonjour, Partage de la navigation du convoyage de la Désirade (voilier acier) jusqu'à Dunkerque. Une semaine de navigation avec un vent qui ne nous a pas permis d'atteindre la destination prévue Caen.... Complications à prendre en compte ,les nombreux parcs éoliens ,certain de plus de 25 Miles de long qui ne permettent pas une route directe, et suivant la direction du vent, complexifient incroyablement les navigations.... La Désirade est vendue, bon vent aux nouveaux propriétaires et bonne route à terre pour Micka, Linda et Eden et le toutou... Thierry et Christel
